Death was usually an end to people. They died, the end. This hadn't been the case for Michael, death had failed to claim him, sure he was technically dead, but it had been a beginning for him, not an end. So as the mysterious woman turned to leave, his head tilted curiously, she wasn't human, which made her all the more interesting.

He opened his beer and took a sip, it wasn't bad, then he followed her. He'd gained a lot of courage in the last year, being a ghost had only added to it. The mysterious woman stopped to talk to the girl, once their exchange was over he stepped up.

"Hello," he said, his voice calm, "hope I'm not interrupting." He'd never dated, or even flirted, or anything similar, his parents didn't allow it. "Its a nice night, I just arrived on the island, party seemed like a good first thing to do."

There were three words that drew Hudson here. The first was party, the second two were free and booze in that exact order and always together like that. Of course it would have been rude to come without at least a token gift so in his hand the college student was carrying a six pack of Canadian beer, and he was glad seeing what the hosts had on offer. There was just something about the taste of home that made you feel the warm and fuzzies. It also helped that this wasn't one of the main brands either, he wouldn't buy that sell out garbage anymore anyway! This was a Saskatchewan regional brand from where he grew up and just happened to be the last of his stock he had brought from home!

To anyone watching as he entered they could see he was dressed in his very best rural formal wear. This basically boiled down to a black t-shirt that was clean, the plaid over shirt and jeans had no holes in them, his Celtic cross belt buckled had been shined up nice and pretty, and he had his boots on that weren't stained with mud or anything. He even comb his finger through his hair before showing up!

He made his way in and was about to set the beer down but was struck by the thought that the moment he walked away from his offering the vultures would descend on it in seconds, so he made sure to remove one of the bottles before setting the rest on a table that he passed by.

Twisting off the cap of the beer he took a large gulp from it while looking around for a trash can, finding one he flicked the beer cap at it, watching it bounce off the rim and then into the bucket.

"He shoots, he scores!" Laughing a bit he took another sip from the beer and took a wander around to get his bearings.

Zeyn strolled through the party after having sampled the various drinks arrayed on the table. As he walked, he admired the interior of the house. He nearly felt sorry for the owners as the house was being practically demolished in some areas by the more, rowdy attendees. However, Zeyn passed a particularly loud radio blasting some sort of strange electronic dance music.

Almost of its own volition, Zeyn started to sway back and forth to the beat. A lazy grin worked its way on his face as his swaying slowly transitioned into full blown dancing. Several of those nearby stopped their awkward swaying to stare in shock at Zeyn's moving form.

"Ah what the hell, might as well give 'em a show." He chuckled

Zeyn then removed his sweatshirt, and shrugged his shoulders, his dark gray T-shirt clung closely to his body, as he hated when his shirts were larger than he was.

He then began to dance, and slowly his movements became more fluid. Unlike the rough gyrations and flailing most tend to do at parties, each of his moves were controlled. Graceful. As if on its own accord, the water in the air around Zeyn began to condense into thin streams, that he then twirled around himself as he danced. Lending an almost hypnotic quality to his movements.

Zeyn was acutely aware of the several eyes glued to his form. However he ignored them, and continued to remain lost in the beat of the song.

He came after all. Amélie deliberately had most of her back turned to him, but she left just enough of the corner of her eye to check on him as he approached. Her ear was right in front of him, and she could hear Michael with perfect clarity even amongst the growing crowd of loud teens and young adults.

She turned slowly to meet him, keeping nothing more than a quiet smile and cold eyes for the boy to talk to. Not until well after he finished did she widen her smile and reply, "Does that make me one of the first person you talked to, on this island?"

Regardless of his response, Amélie was prepared to continue, "My name is Amélie. I have been on the island for a few years now, and I may have overdressed for the party." She echoed his words back with her own story, with the exception of giving her name. She'd expect Michael to follow suit soon enough.

"You prefer beer?" she asked without hint of displeasure or approval. Amélie still had a glass of wine nursed in her fingers, so it was a good time for another test of character for Michael.

"Its good to meet you, I'm Michael," he smiled a little, his shyness fading just a little, "and I believe you are the first person I've talked to, besides a few people at the school." It was true, he'd arrived just a few days before, this was his first social conversation on the island.

"Oh, I don't really drink," he decided to be honest, in general he was more mature than people his age. "But it is a party and I thought it was a good time to try some new things," he chuckled a little, "everything on the island is new to me, so I guess I'm going to have an interesting time trying everything."

Curiouser, curiouser, he couldn't help but feel intrigued by this woman. She was already unlike anyone he'd ever met, though he had no personal freedom before coming here.

The backyard was actually big enough that going over to the drinks table had the added benefit of moving him out of the range of the pool. His pants were only wet up to his ankles, as if he'd stepped into a puddle. Not that River cared anyway, the pool water may not have soaked his clothes yet, but his t-shirt was already damp with sweat, a side effect of his venom.

As he made his way to the table, the half-demon was scanning the party-goers, looking for potential targets. He didn't expect people to really be drunk yet, unless like himself they'd pre-prepared for the party, but perhaps he could find someone who would be fun later. He had time, and there were plenty of people to talk to.

River grinned widely at everyone he passed. Not for the first time he thought it was a shame his venom didn't take effect immediately on contact. He saw a few people he wouldn't mind drugging, although it wouldn't accomplish anything by itself. It just felt great - he could speak to this.

There was nothing particularly special about the first person he talked to. Tall, kinda cute, simply dressed. But the beer cap tossing was good for a conversation opener, and River liked sports. He clapped appreciatively, the gouge on his arm standing out on his moonbright skin. "But could you score again?"

Kendi's attention was caught by the sight of something interesting. A pretty young boy was dancing in the middle of some streams of water. That was something she could do too, maybe this pretty boy might be someone intereting to talk to. Using her tail to push herself up out of the pool she stopped heating the water around her and pushed it back into the pool drying herself off as she got out.

With a playful smile Kendi moved over to where this dancer was performing and when she was close enough that the small human couldn't help but see her dancing Kendi began to perform as well. This dance though was in complimentary fashion to the boy's, true her tail made it difficult for her to move around like his feet could but she was going to do her best. Even though she couldn't move any 'feet' about she was able to move more fluidly than the human could. As she was dancing she began to pull small beads of water around her shimmering with the light playing across her body while the beads would shine pink with the colors of her scales and hair.

Zeyn was both surprised and intrigued by the strange woman dancing next to him. She seemed to be..part snake? However, having seen a demon chatting in a conversational tone with a werewolf yesterday, he shrugged off any preconceived misconceptions. He flashed a smile at the woman who appeared to be dancing in tandem next to him. His voice had a slight middle eastern lilt to it as he called out to her. "Heyy! Not bad! It's not every day someone can match dance moves, much less the water works with me!" He laughed as he fluidly spun around, water trailing behind his arms like crystal clear ribbons.

Zeyn exited the spin and continued to sway back and forth, the water matched his movements in an almost hypnotic fashion. "So, what brings you to this fine establishment of chaos?" He joked as his hands continued to move the water in increasingly complex patterns. "Ah! I almost forgot!" He sighed melodramatically before grinning at her. "The name's Zeyn."

Could you score again? were the words that hit Hudson's ear, causing him to look around for the one who spoke them. Upon seeing the rather soaked looking kid Hudson just couldn't help but grin, first off cause the kid looked like he had jumped through a few puddles on the way here and the second being that he always liked a challenge.

"That's a Texas sized 10-4 chief" he said as looked around and spotted a discarded beer cap and picked it up. "Watch."

With that Hudson turned his back to the beer can and tried an around the back shot, which had gone a little too high, and his face dropped as he noticed this. Luckily for him though it had bounced off the wall and straight into the garbage can. Grinning like he had meant to do that, which he totally had not, he started to bow while making sure not to spill his beer.

"Thank you, thank you!" he smiled as he stood up, finishing with the whole bowing thing and took a swig of beer. "Autographs are $20 a pop."

By now, most of the people in the party had found somebody to talk to. Celeste didn't mind; it was in her horoscope to have unfortunate luck in talking. Though she did need something remotely interesting to do, which might lead to talking. Oh well.

Taking her cup of punch with her, Celeste started to wander. She noticed some people.. dancing? While in itself this wasn't odd for a party, there was also some weird water patterns flying everywhere. She decided to just keep walking; she was awful at dancing.

Celeste continued to wander around the huge mansion. How do people even afford this stuff? Did they bring money with them, or is there just some way to get THAT rich on the islands?, Celeste pondered a bit while walking. She wasn't watching where she was going: she would let fate decide what happened next.
