Florentin Octavius

The concept of Secret Santa enchanted Florentin so!

Florentin was so greedy when it came to new experiences, but he couldn't help it. After being homeschooled his entire life, he was determined to make his stay at Starlight Academy something to remember. That meant going to each and every event presented to him, taking pictures, and meeting new people. When Secret Santa sign ups came up, his name was one of the first on the list.

He got a name, Raz Hildebrand, and it didn't take long to dig up things about him. Raz was an athletic guy, which he cared nothing for. And he was an angel and demon hybrid, which was much more interesting. Why, and Florentin thought his own family was colorful! This person seemed an interesting sort to get to know. The more he thought about meeting him, the more he imagined grand, fantastical things, and the concept of befriending him sounded more and more appealing with each passing day.

Florentin wore a Class A for Adorable get up, ensuring he wore all the ribbons he could get away with, and he had Sasha who (was lovely, always) carried around his wrapped gift for the man: A signed jersey of what seemed to be Raz's favorite sport star. It was neither easy nor cheap to get it here, but Florentin made sure that everything he did was absolutely extravagant. He hoped he liked it! Florentin prided himself as many things, and fantastic gift giver was among his top ten lovely qualities, above "perfect liner" and below "brilliant scientist."

Florentin bounced back and forth in his heels, thinking of all the wonderful, amazing things this mystery person could be, smiling to himself and humming a small tune. He sure hoped he would get here already!

Darn it…just…fuck! He overslept again!

It wasn’t like if he could really help it though, since he had no alarm clock…and if he had one he knew it would just end up as tiny smashed pieces in the trashcan like countless others. The only good thing about this all was that at least he wouldn’t be grumpy all day like used to be when he had to wake up early.

His claws made small clicking sounds as he ran towards the school’s halls, and more than once he left claw marks on the floor when he abruptly turned around in his rush to at least try to get to the meeting point he had with his Secret Santa buddy. At least the meeting place was inside the academy, otherwise he probably would’ve jumped off the window of his room in an attempt to get there in time…and the last time he did that his huge wings got stuck…

People on the halls knew better than stand on his way after he tried American football on the school’s ground some time ago…unless they wanted to be end up slammed against a wall.

He didn’t made it right on time he would’ve liked to, but at least he hoped that Florentin didn’t had to wait too long for him. It had taken him a bit to find out what he would like as a gift. A lot of people told him about how much he liked magical objects, but he really couldn’t find any that would be cool enough. He must admit that he lucked out when he found out about the giant skull sweater that he wanted, and after a bit of searching he found one that he thought that he would definitely love.

He stopped at a meter or two from him, a small screech could be heard thanks to his claws digging on the school’s floor to help him to stop…another deep claw marks that the school would need to fix at some point. If he wasn’t in such a hurry he would feel ashamed for causing this much trouble.

“Sorry for being late. Florentin Octavious, am I right?” He smiled on a friendly way before clearly flinching when he noticed Sasha standing right behind him, he didn’t had to be a genius to know that a wrong step with someone like that around could lead to a really…painful outcome.

He took a deep breath to calm himself as he made sure that the gift under his arm, which was carefully covered in bright Christmas traditional wrapping paper, was ok for a second, and was relieved to find out that it was in perfect conditions even after he ran with it through the school.

"Raz Hildebrand?" Florentin beamed and bounced happily, ready to turn up the charm, but he couldn't help the amused laughter at the reaction to Sasha. How amusing! Make no mistake, Sasha was indeed terrifying. But he was also a big softie that loved to stop and pet dogs. "Please, please, monsieur. This is my bodyguard, Sasha. He will not harm unless given reason to. I need him around for medical purposes, I'm so terribly sickly."

That was part of the reason. It was also part protection and part surveillance, but he needn't explain such matters around strangers. The point was that Florentin wanted Sasha as a background presence so he could do things more comfortably and feel like he was person instead of just his parents' beautiful prized trophy.

"I am Florentin, yes, it's a pleasure!" He took Raz's hand and shook it happily. "I have never participated in school events before. This is my first time being in a Secret Santa, as you say. It's quite exciting! Um, Sasha?" Sasha raised the gift to present to Raz. Florentin smiled. "I hope you like your present and it brightens your holidays, Raz!"
