Kind watched the other dancers for a while. After a time he placed his empty glass down. He looked at Heather with a smile. “Your dress and mask are very pretty.” He sounded genuine as he spoke. He looked back out at all of the dancers. Frankly, it looked like he was thinking about something for a moment.

Kind looked back at Heather when she spoke again. “I guess I can. I kinda got forced into learning how.” He laughed. However his tone also implied he wasn’t joking... But Kind didn’t seem too concerned about that fact. He thought again for a moment, and considered why Heather asked this question. “...Do you want to dance, Heather?” He spoke gently, being sure to apply no pressure. He didn’t want her to feel like she had to dance, Kind knew that feeling didn’t make it enjoyable. But, if she wanted to... he wouldn’t mind dancing.

The veiled man led the hatted woman to the floor, waiting for a particular beat in the music to open into the dance. He led with a certain degree of skill, nothing worth getting his partner embarrassed over but enough to show that he had either been to many balls in the past or was an avid dancer.

"Have you been to the past masquerades?" he asked his partner. "I used to look forward to them all year round when I was a student."

Heather tilted her head slightly and looked at Kind with slight concern, no one should be forced to do anything I didn't want to do. But he didn't seem too troubled over it, and Heather smiled kindly at him.
"I hope you've learned to like it. It sure does look like fun."
Heather looked over at the dancers as well, the dancing was kind of slow and looked like it had set steps and a routine. But Heather liked order, she wanted to learn the steps and dance in unison with all the other couples. That seemed like fun to her.

When Kind asked Heather to dance her eyes lit up and she nodded once for yes.
"Oh, yes please! Thank you so much, I'd really love to dance like that. If you wouldn't mind teaching me, that is. I know it must be a bit of a hassle."
Heather smiled a little, her tone was also gentle and she wouldn't force Kind to dance with a complete novice.

The hatted woman was ecstatic to finally get a chance to dance. The veiled man's skill impressed her, and she did her best to keep up. The year of practice had made her footwork nearly perfect, but her overall movements were stiff and nervous. "I have not. Actually, this is my first year on this island. I have attended a ball in my home state, but I'm afraid it didn't go so well. This ball is much better anyways. I've met far more interesting people here."

“As a SOS droid, I am a combined effort of alien technology and human ingenuity. Although details are classified information, I remain the only unit of the SASA line due to unforeseen developments within my programming.” Sasha explained, allowing the other girl to continue her investigation.

“As for cool robot things I am confused as to what…” the android trailed off as she linked words together to understand the strange phrase, “Ah. Mechanical functions unique to Non-biological entities.” She realized, putting a hand to her chin.

“Indeed, I am capable of performing ‘cool robot things’. Although not visible, I am equipped with advanced visual sensors, which is what allowed me to spot your troublemaking earlier. In addition…” She stopped, putting her hands on the sides of her head and pulling it clean off, the metallic inside of her neck visible where they had been connected, “As a prototype I am equipped to be easily modified as to test configurations, meaning I am capable of detaching and reattaching parts of my body for easy access.” She explained, seemingly unaffected by the separation of her head.

There was a lot for Evie to take in as Sasha rattled out her specifications, like the fact that aliens were apparently involved. She was just barely getting her head wrapped around the supernatural, magical world she'd been introduced to. The idea of machines and aliens was a whole other level of wild for her to understand.

And then Sasha popped her head off her body, and most of those thoughts went out the window.

Her mouth was left agape, eyes darting from her disembodied head, to the metallic hole in her neck, to back to her head.

"That's soooo cooooooooool!"

She leaned over her, trying to stick her fingers in the hole where her head used to be.

"So why are you here then? Are you here as security for the party? Does the school have other robots running around I don't know about? Why'd they make you look like a little girl? Do robots poop?"

She fired off every question one after another, her excitment not diminishing in the slightest.

She nodded as he told her where he was from. She had her suspicions based on his accent but now it was cleared up. "I'm afraid it's not that interesting at all," she began, still swaying in time with the music playing. "I'm from Hawaii. I had never been anywhere but there until I came here," she explained. There was never any need to. She loved her home, her family and now both were gone. No longer did she wake to their faces. Instead, she had an annoying roommate that seemed to follow her.

The thought made her lead into the next question without thinking. "Did you come here with family?" Her bluntness made her realise that talking to her may come across as more of an interrogation than a conversation. That was still something she needed to work on. She presumed that other people may feel like those sorts of topics may become too personal for others. "We don't need to talk about them if you don't want," she made herself say.

He laughed. "I'm glad there were no casualties." A party was never good when people were hurt or upset. Well, that's what he presumed, anyway. "I'm not sure what some of this stuff is either but it tastes really good." He considered that maybe the food was the best part of a party. Overflow couldn't dance and he wasn't a massive fan of music so the food was probably the bit that was more appealing.

He was unsure whether Crashed Wave was suggesting he wanted to join the other people. "You can go dance if you would like. I'll be fine here," he said. It seemed sort of selfish that he wanted to stay with him because he was the only person he really knew a bit there. He imagined he wasn't much fun to be around anyway. Just then, he got a whirling in his stomach. That sensation was something that usually meant that something wouldn't go quite right. He was still yet to have control over his powers and that had certain... side effects. He tried to force the feeling to stop, being discrete about the situation.

Sasha paused momentarily, seemingly thinking about something. “Negative. Currently I am considered ‘Out of order’ due to errors in my programming resulting in sapience. My current objective is: Introduce myself to the local student body.” She explained, allowing the girl to prod her neck.

“As for my appearance, my creators were considered ‘eccentric’, and came to the conclusion that in order to make me seem less intimidating, gave me this form. He had a particular dislike for magical methods, and refused the use of human shape charms, as it may disrupt my intended functions.” The android went on, adjusting her hold on her head to keep it steady.

“And while I do not poop, I do excrete wasted fuel rods and coolant once a month.

"They probably have weird names that don't make sense. But they aren't bad. I think that one had some kind of meat in it so that's ok," he squinted at the next one that had a weird green paste or something on top. Who even comes up with these things? Just keep food simple.

Crashed Wave was glad that Overload seemed to have calmed down a bit. At least it seemed like he wasn't as ready to bolt, but that was probably because he himself wasn't snapping at him as much.

"I don't... actually know how to dance...," he started to grumble and might have said something rude but he noticed the guy was being awfully quiet all of a sudden. Crashed Wave didn't have any idea what was going on in Overload's stomach or whatever but usually people didn't have that slightly distracted look to them if nothing was wrong. "Hey... uh, you look a little distracted. You good?"
