Kadir al-Akram

He'd smirk back, "oh I think you do," he'd tap the side of her top hat a little, she definitely looked less out of place than him. "Was just gonna grab food and a drink and run out," he hadn't expected to see anyone he knew, yet here she was, "but, eh, I can hang out a bit longer."

Kadir would glance around a bit before looking back to her, "this ball thing is odd," he wasn't sure how to carry himself in such a setting. "Never danced much but...," he'd tilt his head, "once you're finished with your drink...I wanna dance with you."

Top hat straightened the damn hat after Kadir knocked it a bit crooked, and tapped her champagne glass against her red lips.
"Aren't you supposed to pretend you don't know me? Since this is a masquerade and all."
She'd snort a bit and take a closer look at Kadir. Yep, he didn't really look like he belonged to this kind of setting. Well, personality wise neither of them did.
"My plan was to witness some ball fails and get a good laugh but thus far it's been pretty boring. Hope you'll make it a bit less so."

"Didn't really take you for a ball person anyway."
She'd answer, and just when Kadir said he'd want to dance with her she finished her champagne. She peered at her empty glass and then at Kadir, with a small smirk on her face.
"You know what? Why the fuck not. I don't have anything better to do."
She went and set the glass on a nearby table. Returning to Kadir she'd glance at the dance floor and back at him.
"I don't know how to dance like that, though."

Great. It hadn't been ten minutes and he had already lost the guy. He wasn't sure whether Crashed Wave would actually like him if he knew the person he really was. To Overflow, it seemed as though he was cooler than him, probably one of the popular people. Then again, he was alone at the side of the room.

Deciding that someone he vaguely knew was better than being on his own, he tried to find him again. It was probably a bit clingy of him but the evening would go a lot quicker with someone else who didn't have much of a clue when it came to events of the sort too.

Meandering through the swarm of people, he eventually caught sight of him and walked over, still eating his sandwich. "Phew, thought I lost you for a second," he said with a smile before taking a bite. He turned to face all of the people swaying and dancing. "It's getting crazy busy in here now." A man in a bow tie emerged from the bustle as Overflow gave him a small smile, being polite.

Shiro Yoshida

"I'm not looking for a prince charming or anything really," she'd say, sticking her tongue out at her, "if I was it'd definitely not be a prince, it'd be a princess." She'd giggle, "besides I want to make sure you have fun."

They'd reach the table and she'd grab some punch, taking a big drink of it, "you ever dance before?" she'd ask her friend, "actually don't matter, we're dancing here in a minute," she'd say with a mischievous smirk.

"You know what I meant, love."
Isabela said, and her lips twitched into a small grin. She had always wanted to try saying that word with this accent.
"And don't worry about me, I'm here to be your support and company. My fun is irrelevant."

Isabela was at the table even before Shiro, and reached for the food before the drinks. She munched the first thing she got her hand on, carefully so she wouldn't soil her clothes, and turned to look at Shiro when she spoke to her.
"No, I have never stepped on the dance floor, and I think it would suit me horribly, if I must say."
Isabela took some punch for herself and washed down the food.
"But if you insist I suppose I can give it a try, love."

The veiled man smiled, slightly parting his veil to reveal brick-red eyes and pale skin. "Would you like to dance, miss?" he asked politely, sensing her desire. He had read enough about ballroom dances from his books, practicing specifically for the yearly masquerades since he had attended the Academy. He was, in his opinion, a decent partner which was good because this was not about him. It was about showing somebody else a good time.

He offered the hatted woman his hand. "I hope you will excuse me," he said kindly. "It's been a while since I've actually had a partner."

“Affirmative. SASA, observation station security droid ID#5754, designation Sasha.” she said curtseying, as was apparently standard practice at formal events. “I am sorry if I am not sufficiently entertaining for your enjoyment, however I noticed your misdeeds and reacted according to my programming. You are free to interact with the other guests if you so desire, so long as you refrain from further trouble-making.” she stated in her soft monotone.

Fun was a concept Sasha could never grasp. She had spent many hours attempting to experience this feeling. However, these things many considered to be ‘fun’ did little for the automaton. Many of these activities were pointless, accomplishing little.

Evie stopped listening about 4 seconds into Sasha's explanation, instead focusing on the first thing she said, eyes starting to go wide.

"Waaaaaiiitwaitwaitwait....You are a robot?"

Her eyes lit up, mouth stretching into a wide smile.

"That's awesome!" She starts hopping around Sasha excitedly, poking and prodding at parts of her body, looking her up and down for anything obviously mechanical. "Hey, what kind of robot are you? Can you do any cool robot things?"

The guy had practically disappeared into the crowd and Crashed Wave was this close to just moving on and looking for someone else to talk to. But then he saw him approach and smile. "Uh, yeah. Guess I was a little slower going through everyone. Don't worry- very few people got flung away so I could get this food. I think it's food anyway," he grinned and then took a bite out of one of the crackers topped with whatever it was. It was weird but it wasn't bad tasting, so he finished that one off while he was at it.

"I haven't been here long but it does look like it's getting busier," Crashed Wave answered as he glanced at all the people dancing and cringed inside just thinking about it. "Seems like most of the people who aren't here by the food are dancing or whatever now."

He didn't particularly notice the man with a bowtie emerging from the crowd any more then the other people. Plenty of people were coming and going in that area.
