He didn't exactly mind answering her questions as they came. While his family situation wasn't exactly the best one ever, it was so toxic to mean he would hide it. "No. I don't really talk with my family." He told her, there was no reason to bore her with the exact details of why though. It was a long enough story to not be told at a party, and even more so mid-dance.

"Well except for my cousin, he somehow knew about Manta Carlos already. Though he has never really gone into much detail." He explained, he had visited his cousin back in the states during the time between school years, but it hadn't exactly come up. Manta Carlos had been a pretty good change for him, even though it had taken some serious getting used to at first. "So what do you think of the island? Do you like it here?"

He'd sip his drink as the ball moved about him, he'd danced and chatted a good amount with a good number of people. The events here were always nice, always unique given the island's residents, he'd missed the last ball but had made sure to come to this one.

Huilu returned to the ball after a slight breather at the balcony, and she sent a small wave and a smile at her earlier companion. Thanks to him this evening had gotten quite the interesting beginning, and Huilu slipped into the crowd in order to mingle some more. Her dress fluttered around her as she made her way towards the other end of the ballroom, occasionally checking her mask was still properly on her face.

Huilu hadn't experienced flirting, even if it was light such, in a while and it had made her smile. It was interesting and exhilarating how different such things were in comparison to her home, and Huilu enjoyed learning new things.
But for now Huilu set herself by a large window, the crowd was getting thicker and Huilu recognized nearly no one. She'd have to fix that by asking someone to dance again, that had been quite delightful.

"Huh, well I guess you couldn't have gone to a better place if that's what you wanted."

She shrugged, before standing up straight, rocking back and forth on her heels. She hmmed to herself for a moment, before seeming to come to a conclusion.

"Alright then! How about this. You keep me company for the night, and in return, I'll tell you who I am when we're done."

She giggled, leaning forward, hands crossed behind her. "Then you can tell whoever said you had to do this that you met someone. But you gotta keep me entertained in the meantime. Sound good?"

Left Paw had tried to ask someone to dance but it seemed they were actually busy with something else. It was very unfortunate but they did not act as if it had bothered them. Instead they nodded and went back to slipping through the crowd. This time following a distance from Right Paw and watching the crowd and the exits instead of focusing on potential partners as much.

Right Paw had waited while Left Paw attempted to find a partner to dance with but when he was unsuccessful she seemed to take the lead. While she had been watching the crowds a few potential dance partners had caught her attention but then had been paired up or moved somewhere else for whatever reason.

Right Paw casually walked around and through the growing crowds before finally noticing a woman in an outfit that was like a dress but with legs like pants. Pink clothes and a pink gradient on her mask. She had been paired off with someone else but she appeared to have finished dancing with them at the moment or they were about to take a break or something similar. It was not completely clear but she did appear to be in situation where being asked to cut in would not be overly disruptive.

She made her way closer and nodded at Orange and Liliana. "Would you mind if I cut in. Or Left Paw could if you would prefer," she said as she extended a hand towards Liliana and glanced back at him trailing behind by about 10 feet. "We tend to stay relatively close so if you'd like, whichever one of us is not picked could dance with you," she added as she addressed Orange. No one needed to feel left out. The Paws were quite confident in their dancing abilities.

This kid was interesting, and when they did a reallu flashy kick at the end of the song Ava grinned and clapped a bit. And naturally she started dancing with them again, Ava didn't want to make the kid feel bad.

Ava got a bit suspicious when the kid asked her to play with them, though Ava didn't let it show outside and kept smiling. This kid talked as if there was really going to be monsters, and even had to reassure Ava that she wouldn't get hurt. That rang alarm bells in her mind, but Ava was also so curious. In the end she was like why the hell not.
"'Kay, sounds like a plan, Prince Swallowtail. I'll fight monsters with you."

Sasha stared at the individual, considering the option. Not only would she have achieved her goal, she would be able to keep a close eye on this troublemaker. “Understood. I will attempt to keep you engaged for the duration of the event.” She answered, quickly downloading various resources on party activities, such as dancing, small talk, and charades.

Reattaching her head, Sasha spun it around once to make sure it was properly secure.

“How would I be able to make sure you remain properly satisfied for the remainder of the ball. We lack the proper equipment to engage in ordinary party activities such as: Table tennis, Marlo Party, or twisted.” The android inquired, seemingly having to have acquired some strange knowledge in the download.

"Hmm..."

She thought about it for a moment. There were a lot of shenanigans she had planned before coming here, but it would likely be a lot harder to get away with any of them now that Sasha was attached to her. Maybe she should simply just, join the party, dance, have fun like everyone else was planning on having it.

Or, she could just see how much she could geta way with while the robot was watching. That might be fun.

For now, she simply smiled, holding out one hand.

"Weeeeeeell, this is a ball, right? I guess the first thing to do would be to dance?"

She gave a small nod. "I'm sorry to hear that." Despite the fact she felt like she didn't need anyone, she knew that she wouldn't be the same person if her family hadn't been there. Although there was that feeling of abandonment, they were still her family and she felt sorry that her dance partner didn't have that.

Normally, she would want to go into more detail about this cousin but since it was a sore subject, it was probably best to avoid it. "There are worse places, I suppose," she replied, shrugging. It wasn't that she didn't like the island, it was more the fact that it wasn't her choice in the first place. She would quite happily have stayed back home but it was thought to be the best thing for her.
