Name : Loralai Lovage Merriweather
Age :
Birthday : November 9th (Day of adoption)
Gender : Female
Nationality : British Canadian
Category : Citizen
Career: Lawyer / Telemarketer / Real Estate Broker
Appearance Description : Loralai is five feet three inches tall, with a pretty face and long eyelashes. It is unanimously agreed, however, that she looks like a man. A pretty man, but still a man. She has a lean, muscled build and a healthy tan. Luckily, her voice is also somewhat masculine. Her eyes are the color of fresh grass. Her hair is pumpkin colored and cut short.
Loralai likes clothes. She really likes clothes. So naturally, she takes the opportunity to look as good as possible, usually in a business casual type of suit. Dark grey is her preferred color for clothes. It's just too bad that with her coloring, it's a bit hard to find things in other colors that don't make her look like a walking vegetable patch.
Personality Description : Loralai is a very cheery woman and extremely idealistic. Part of it is because she makes an effort to be this way -vocally. She is by no means a quiet person and makes what she thinks known. She often dotes over things that she finds cute, usually things that other people would find hideous or ugly cute. Or so cute that it would give you diabetes if you just looked at it.
Loralai, to her great dismay, is very dexterous and not clumsy. Clumsiness is one of those traits that she finds cute so it's a little distressing to her that she isn't. Despite her cheerfulness and idealism, Loralai is also a rational person, though she might use really out there metaphors to get her point across. She is found of saying things in a sing song tone of voice and hums a lot.
Active Ability: Ocean's Dowry - Loralai is able to manipulate salt of all types, even those of the non edible variety. As a result, she also has the ability to control liquids to some degree, by manipulating the minerals in it. This includes blood and, more disgustingly, urine. The more salt that the liquid has, the greater her control will be. Purified water, in contrast, is usually difficult to control. For the most part, Loralai limits her control to typical salts -table salt, rock salt, and brine. This is mainly because she is not a chemist and thus does not know what much else constitutes as salt. In any case, salt in liquids is more difficult to control than salt that is not in liquids, simply because the liquid puts up a resistance.
In addition to manipulating salt, Loralai cannot be harmed or poisoned by it due to her powers, nor can she be drowned in water that contains it. She is capable of breathing salt water but not fresh water. Loralai can also imbue salt with magic. Those who examine this magic will find that its aura is unusually predatory. This imbued salt can be used to repel supernatural creatures, although it is much more effective against divine creatures (on both sides of the spectrum) and spirits. The salt will burn creatures especially weak to it and act as a barrier if laid on the ground.
Sometimes, Loralai will find herself unconsciously manipulating salt. Occasionally, she will wake up in the morning, only to find herself surrounded by little mounds of the stuff.
Passive Ability: Eventide Bride - For most of her life, Loralai has heard eerie cries from seemingly nowhere, the sounds resembling shattering glass. They follow her constantly and are not audible to those who do not have sharply turned magical sensory abilities. Though they are often without meaning, she can occasionally understand what is being said, all of it usually senseless anyways. People who can hear these whispers are unable to understand any of it.
Loralai is naturally drawn to the evening hours and if left to herself, will treat the sunsets the same way that people treat sunrises. Though she has managed to suppress the pull to be completely nocturnal, she still is at her peak during the night. This is also when she hears most of the voices. Though they tend to trouble her, Loralai often does her best to disregard them. At times, however, she will drop into a mysterious trance which lasts for several minutes. While in this trance, she is only distantly aware of what is happening around her and will answer all questions truthfully -even ones that she did not previously know the answer to. However, this sudden knowledge only lasts as long as the trance and only applies to questions about magic.
The reason for this trance is that Loralai's body is constantly emitting a great deal of primal magic. Though people who can easily sense magic are able to see just how chaotic her powers are, it is also sometimes possible for others to sense that something is not quite right. The trance is a way for Loralai to keep both her magic and the voices from ripping her apart.
It is possible for Loralai to release her magic completely, although this would result in the hopefully-temporary destruction of her human body. Loralai and her magic would then take the form of a cloud of sharply colored prismatic shards. Though this release makes it possible for her to manipulate waves of pure magic, it also quickly takes anyway any semblance of self that Loralai has. Intelligence will remain but not attention span nor the ability to form higher level thought processes such as those about morality or consequence. In essence, the cloud will latch onto the last thought that Loralai had before she released her magic and use that as a basis for its actions.
Reconstructing a physical body after releasing her magic is a very difficult feat to accomplish. In truth, Loralai herself is uncertain how that can be accomplished since the process occurs so infrequently -maybe only three or four times in her life. Those times, she mostly got herself back together through sheer willpower, and also because she had other people around her to frantically remind her that she wanted to be human again. Without them, it is likely that she simply would have remained a cloud of pure magic.
This the Uncommon Regalia of the Eventide Bride. Its temperament is idealistic and its aspect is optimism. It can be partnered with regularly and has additional abilities.
Passive Abilities: Alternate Plane: All Regalia are able to abandon the physical plane for their own which contains the heart of their civilization. This plane exists parallel to the physical plane that humans and most other supernaturals live on. Occasionally, some may stumble upon a hole in the physical plane that brings them to the Regalia's alternate plane.
Immortality: Loralai is a member of an immortal race. She cannot die of natural means, though she can be killed. Her species ages slowly after reaching early adulthood and it is rare to find elderly of her kind.
Omnilingual: As a Regalia, Loralai is capable of understanding and communicating in all other languages that have at least one native speaker.

Biography : Almost immediately after her birth, Loralai was found abandoned in her hospital crib with no sign of her birth parents and nobody even having remembered that they had been there in the first place. Nina Merriweather, who had been there to have surgery on her hand, was attracted by a burst of magic which led her to the crying child. Touched, Nina attempted to comfort her. To her astonishment, however, from the moment that she picked Loralai up, all of the hospital staff from that point treated her as if she had been the girl's birth mother. Many even had memories of helping Nina give birth and unwilling to look like a mad woman in front of so many people, Nina simply went with the story and ended up bringing Loralai home to her wife.
To say that Cornelia was surprised about the new addition to their family was an understatement. The couple had already adopted a child two years prior and had not been expecting to have another. The plan had been to have only a single child, since the two women thought that they only had enough money to support one and were reluctant to call on Cornelia's wealthier mother, Vanora Lawful, to help them financially. However, they ended up having to call the old woman anyways because of how mysteriously Loralai had been found.
After months of calling around and not being able to find any leads on who Loralai's parents were, the Merriweathers had gotten used to the idea of having her around and decided to fully take her in as their own. As the years went on, and the Merriweathers found themselves in better luck, the family gained two more children.
By early childhood, it was already clear that Loralai had some type of magic. She would empty out saltshakers and build perfectly solid castles on the dining room table, and make ornaments out of the salt people put out on the roads. At first, Loralai was almost completely nocturnal. It was only through careful conditioning from her parents that she was able to have something like a normal sleep cycle, although the mornings remained rough on her. Still, for all of the awful things that could have happened, the Merriweathers were grateful that Loralai seemed to have gotten a relatively useful power.
That was until the voices started, anyways. When she was eight years old, Loralai first began to hear sounds of glass shattering. She would run to see what was wrong, only to find absolutely nothing. Her parents became increasingly worried as it continued. Before they gave over their child to a psychologist, however, they first called up Vanora yet again, in case this problem was magical in nature.
Needless to say, it was. The old woman found that Loralai was pretty much a beacon of raw magic. The wildness of it was worrying but for Loralai, it didn't seem to bother her at all. It was concluded that the magic was most likely hereditary, a gift from parents that she had never met. There was nothing that could be done for the ghost sounds except learning to ignore them.
Eventually, Vanora took Loralai away to Manta Carlos Island for schooling but after only a few years, Loralai went back to Canada to have a normal life. For a long time, Loralai was indecisive about what she wanted to do. Though she went to law school and became a lawyer, she decided at the last minute that it wasn't for her and abruptly went into real estate instead. Then, to everybody's bemusement, she packed her bags and flew right back to Manta Carlos.
Loralai was once a deep ocean eldritch abomination, a spirit of the darkest depths of the waters. However, under some circumstances, spirits can pass from one form to another, similar to how some can be corrupted into demons. It effectively kills their original form in most cases. This is what happened to Loralai. She became a Regalia afterwards, though she retains little memory of what her old life was.
Resources: Loralai owns a small two bedroom apartment on the island and has the full financial support of the Merriweathers as well as the Curtis family.
Additional Information : Loralai works as a real estate broker on the island. She also is a telemarketer who attempts to sell the services of magical handymen, among other things.
