So, I got the e-mail a few days ago, but I wanted to wait before I shared with everyone.

(okay, "bragged to" might be accurate, yoo x_x)

I've had three book reviews published over at <a href='http://www.mookychick.co.uk/reviews/' target='_blank' rel='nofollow'>Mookchick</a> in the last few months:

I love Mookychick so getting my work accepted was awesome!

<a href='http://www.mookychick.co.uk/reviews/books/nevermore-kelly-creagh.php' target='_blank' rel='nofollow'>Nevermore by Kelly Creagh</a>

<a href='http://www.mookychick.co.uk/reviews/books/the-iron-witch-ya-fiction.php' target='_blank' rel='nofollow'>The Iron Witch by Karen Mohoney</a>

<a href='http://www.mookychick.co.uk/reviews/comics-anime/nothing-can-possibly-go-wrong.php' target='_blank' rel='nofollow'>Nothing Can Possibly Go Wrong by Faith Erin Hicks</a>

I have hard time writing about books I'm truly madly in love with.)

In Fall 2012, a piece of my original fiction was published in The Scop, a free local literary magazine that caters primarily to students.

My submission brought up the question, "ReD, why is there all this weird sexual tension between the girls in your story?"

"It just happens!"

"stuff like that doesn't JUST happen!"

And then the girl across from me laughed at something so hard she spit pink energy drink and knocked the entire can over just onto my boobs. She paniced, went "oh! i'm so sorry! I've got this!" and tried to sit on my lap and towel off my boobs for me while apologizing bent over with her butt up in the air.

So I looked him straight in the eye and he admitted that okay, maybe it really does "just happen".

And this fall, 2013, I'll be published in The Scop again--this time for photos! I'm waiting on seeing which ones were accepted; I sent in several, and some of them were of sculptures/dolls I've created.

The rest were of my dog. Because I'm lonely.

Thank you <3333

The book reviews are online and I think I may have a copy of the fiction piece up somewhere. I don't put a lot of my fiction online since it hinders its chance of getting published via a traditional outlet (book magazine etc).

But yeah--mostly I just looked for a call-for-submissions thing. I'm waiting on hearing back from a few other places, too. I think mookychick might still have a "Write for Us" link up.

My newest review was published today: Reincarnate by Motionless in White Review

Also, I've started writing for a newspaper. I had my first articles published over the summer, and I contribute pretty regularly, mostly books reviews and artist profiles, but now I'm covering local stories, too.
