She groaned loudly to herself, looking up at the tree line.

"It's snowing really heavily, I don't think Frodo's going to be able to fly while it's like this. At least not high enough to get a good vantage point."

Wednesday shivered. Her physical weakness meant handling the cold was difficult for her, at least for long periods, now she was starting to look worried as well.

Sunday

She led the way, a little less confidently than before but tried her best not to show it. It would do them both no good to panic and Sunday was well aware of how awful things could turn out if the main authority figure in any situation fell to it. "It's this way, I think," she said, inspecting a branch that might have been cut off of might have broken normally. "See, these are knife marks on the wood."

"I don't know if those are quite the same..."

She was sounding less and less confident as they went on, clutching her cat tightly.

"Next time we do this we're bringing a compass or something." She murmured dryly under her breath, her skin looking slightly more pale then normal.

Sunday

In the light, Wednesday looked pale. Sunday only noticed because her skin was usually so green that she could be confused for the scenery. Now she looked as if carved out of jade. "Try creating a fire," she suggested as she checked more branches. "There's more than enough kindling out here. It might not help much but a torch for some warmth would be better than nothing."

Of course, Sunday had her own fires as well, giving off light and heat. She said nothing on that point but waited for the girl to come over to her. When she did, Sunday did not leave her side.

Catching hypothermia while looking for ingredients in the forest, wouldn't that be a pathetic way for a Witch of the Verdun Clan to go.

Wednesday looked a little unsteady on her feet when she heard Sunday. She nodded, holding out her hand, but with how much she was shaking she wasn't able to keep her finger steady enough, and the spells fizzled out before she could even finish.

Her cat leaped out of her arms, meowing loudly, before moving closer to Sunday. Wednesday followed after it, moving close enough to feel the heat from the fires. It started to help, slowly but surely.

"I m-might have a faster way...to get us b-back..." She said, her words slurring and stuttering. "I j-just need a moment to warm up."

Sunday

She really shouldn't have let this girl go out, Sunday was starting to realize. Just what was she thinking? Wednesday probably wasn't as used to extreme temperatures as Sunday was. Loads of magical experimentation related to fire and ice did give her the upper hand on that.

Feeling annoyed at herself, Sunday took some fallen branches and arranged them into a suitable campfire. Next, she took a small twig and stuck it into the fire of her pauldrons. It wasn't a dignified move by any means but it was faster than freezing and soon enough, she had a lively fire going on the ground despite the ice and snow.

Wednesday was too busy berating herself in her mind to think much of the method Sunday used to light the fires. She just felt stupid, both for putting herself in danger and for dragging Sunday down with her own weakness. She just quietly mumbled a thanks, before clearing some of the snow on the ground and sitting by the fire pulling her knees close to her chest as she sat, trying to warm herself up.

After a while she checked her hand, seeing that she wasn't shaking too much. Once she felt ready, she got onto her hands and knees and cleared out some more of the snow, revealing the dirt underneath and flattening it as much as she could.

"Alright, stand over me so the snow doesn't fall here." She said before she began to draw into the dirt.

"It's not the most reliable." She explained, mostly to keep herself calm by talking it through. "Teleporting freely has too many variables I need to account for with the symbols, and even if I get it right, there's a chance I'll just teleport myself halfway into a wall or something."

The symbol she was drawing was large, a lot more complicated than the one she'd done earlier.

"This one should send both of us to a corresponding symbol in my room. I um...I've done it before, but not on the island, and not with another person."

She completed the symbol, setting it to activate after ten seconds, and tapped it. The symbol stayed in place, glowing just a little bit off the ground it was drawn on. Wednesday stood back up.

"Alright, stand here."
