"Naknamputa naman itong mga to oh."

Name: Emman Trinidad
Age: 22, probably
Birthday: July 19
Gender: Male
Category: PE instructor, particularly self - defense classes, also handles counseling
Class:

Appearance Description: A crew cut, a thick goatee, and sideburns along an angular face gives Emman a rather rough appearance. Add to that his dark brown skin and muscular, if somewhat short 5'6 frame, complete with a large burn on his left forearm, and you have a man who looks more like a street urchin than a teacher. A flat nose, heavy lips and a rather sharp pair of eyes set on his face beside defined cheekbones push his appearance even further into thuggish territory and far from the academic that he is on job hours. Even his clothing reflects this roughness - during class times he wears either a normal tee or a collared shirt and a pair of jeans with some sneakers. That is it - the only difference between his casual wear and work wear is that he usually has shorts instead.

Personality Description: Emman is much like his appearance - rough and callous, but that is only how he is when expressing himself; he can have quite a bit of a sensitive and rather wise side which he shows mostly when the trash - talking, beer - swilling thing he normally has going on is unfitting. His vocabulary is largely swearing, both in Filipino and English, and he seems ill - tempered at first, though it is mostly a simple extension of his brash manner. He's just honest and cares little about appearances, and is actually often in complete control of himself. Except when he's filled with enough alcohol to purify a strip club.

He has a bit of a soft spot for younger people.

Powers:
Stronger: Physics Manipulation
Emman can control consciously exactly how his body behaves physically. While this seems like a rather pointless ability, this means he is capable of some rather strange feats. How it works is that he changes the vectors of his body's parts as though he were a ragdoll on a simulator; he can change the properties of limbs and joints such as velocity, direction, density, mass and orientation. If he wanted to, he could grant his punch infinite mass and do impossible amounts of physical damage, were it not for two things:

A.) he does not have infinite mana, and
B.) he is not immune to the laws of physics.

Even if he could force his body to do these things, the damage they would do to him is immense - his body can only handle an amount of abuse that's slightly above normal; and as such the most common manifestation of this power is to give him physical capabilities around 150% better than his normal capabilities and sudden contortions used for dodging things. Anything beyond that starts to cause immediate damage and fatigue. Any use of his power fatigues him, but so long as he doesn't go beyond that upper limit, there is no immediate damage and the effect is mostly unnoticeable.

As a side effect he can force his heart to pump faster to keep himself awake. He does something similar with his kidneys and liver to tolerate more alcohol.

If pushed to the limit he can become at least four times as strong as a normal person, though that would only last for two minutes at maximum and leave him in a coma for a while.

Weaker: Anting - anting (Filipino charm)
Given to him to ward off evil spirits by an old acquaintance, his crucifix necklace gives him immunity to curses and allows him to sense nearby evil intent. However, that latter part of the power doesn't quite work properly - so he ignores it entirely, relying on his own judgment. He relies on it mostly for the way it causes his wounds to close quickly, almost rendering him immune to small cuts which happen a lot while he cooks. At some point, the healing was capable of bringing him back from the brink of death but some incident forced that magic to weaken to simply closing wounds in a matter of minutes or hours in exchange for saving his life.

What he doesn't realize however is that the necklace also nullifies the first harmful spell that would hit him in a day. Mostly because he hasn't been in any fights with anyone who would cast spells and actually managed to hit him.

It also glows with white light if he wants it to and is often used as a weird flashlight.

Biography: Emman hails from Tarlac in the Philippines, in a, say, impoverished part of the area. He grew up almost literally on the streets, being an uneducated beggar's child. His father left him, and his mother was far too sickly to raise him on her own. However, he refused to give up on life, and from the moment he could walk, talk, and have the concept of money, he began to work and do odd jobs here and there, finding out many important things such as how to not get beaten up, how to pilfer without being noticed, how to stomach alcohol, and most importantly, how to properly take care of people.

From age seven until eleven this daily grind of doing weird jobs and stealing the odd trinket for money for food went on, until he found himself mixed up into the occult after a mangkukulam or shaman client named [NAME SUBJECT TO CHANGE BASED ON POPTART'S CHARACTER'S MOM wait wat] enlisted his services to gather some things for a spell. During this misadventure he would run into another mangkukulam who cursed him - to forever have his body parts move randomly whenever he made any other part move. While there was probably a better curse, that particular person wasn't quite feeling like being sensible and so Emman ended up with the foundations for his powers. However, Emman refused to let the curse stop him, and so, a fight ensued. He emerged victorious and recovered what was asked, and he miraculously managed to tumble all the way back to his client, although the bleeding from the cuts he'd sustained as well as all the bruises from banging himself on random objects made him pass out at her doorstep.

When he woke up, days had passed and he was alone in a room, covered in bandages, with a nearby box filled with payment and a crucifix necklace atop it beside him on a table. His limbs were no longer moving of their own accord, and a note beside the payment greeted him. It read as such, translated from Tagalog:

I am sorry to say this, but while you were unconscious from doing the job I hired you for, your mother died. It was a peaceful death as far as I could tell, and I've taken the liberty of burying her for you, as I heard you didn't have relatives who would do so. I hope I didn't overstep my bounds.

I've enclosed payment for your job as well as a charm of my own devision. It should protect you - after what I've put you through I feel this is not quite enough payment but it is all I can offer at the moment.
While the note was in an understandable language, Emman did not know how to read and as such had to ask around for what it meant. However, when it was read to him, the pain it brought to his young mind was very heavy, and he cursed at that lady who hired him, who kept him away from his mother in her dying moments.

Emman took to drink - disregarding his age entirely. That penchant for alcohol he acquired during those difficult times would forever follow him, and while at present he could properly control it, as a kid, it proved too much. For a while he was close to suicide, and on one particularly low night, he, drunk beyond belief, bawled his eyes out and slit his left wrist. There, in an abandoned and run - down shanty in the middle of Tarlac, he lay crying and passed out from blood loss in a pool of his own vomit and tears.

Somehow, he did not die - the charm he'd received as payment sensed that he was dying, and quickly used up most of its power to ensure that he did not do so. From that point on, it became weak, but the important thing was that its owner was alive. Unconscious, suicidal, alone and lost, but alive.

Surviving through suicide left Emman a changed man. He took it as a sign from above that his mother still thought he had more to do on this world - and that he began to do. His earnings from that last job (what was left of them anyway) he used to teach himself enough to get a job - essentially, everything he knew was self - taught and yet when it came to it, he found that he was qualified for being a teacher based on aptitude. Originally, his goal was to become a doctor, but he realized that such a profession could not be learned on his own, and that he could save more lives by keeping them off the paths that he took.

Thus he made himself a teacher and made sure that his students would always have a safe place under him, but he felt that it wasn't enough. There was more he could do, more ways to make sure that others wouldn't have to go through what he did.

Such a desire to go further and guide children away from his path, along with his magic, drove him to Starlight Academy. He'd heard of its existence from a traveler from there - and because he couldn't quite afford to charter a boat to go to somewhere so hidden, he made himself a boat and went there himself over the course of 82 days. There he applied as an instructor for the thing he knew to do best, and once that was done, he requested that he be assigned as guidance counselor.

Additional Information:
He doesn't like it when people interfere with fights. Except when he does it.
Emman occasionally goes around Manta Carlos doing odd jobs as he used to do so he could have more money for things.
He can sleep anywhere as long as he wants to do so.
He hates travel by plane.
