Zora stared hesitantly at Ithai, she had no idea whether she could trust him, or if he could even answer or explain away her concerns, fears. Broen's messages had been cryptic at best, but the implication of something not being right, something being very wrong about the competition was there plain as day.

"Yes, I do have a question for you," Zora said slowly as she looked at Ithai with some uncertainty, "What is the end game to all this, this competition? And why is my boyfriend warning me that the prize is not what it seems?" she asked him uneasily.

"I honestly couldn't tell you," Ithai said with a wince. "Aslan likes to complain about the competition a lot but he doesn't say much about what the end is supposed to be. It seems, well." Maybe this was a bit too much of pot calling kettle black. "It does seem somewhat troubling, doesn't it? It seems like the proctors don't like to talk about it much, even among themselves. Cornelius appears to be the only one okay with the entire thing."

Zora frowned at this. She knew secrecy and when something was up when she saw it. Had had enough business experience to know when a deal was not what it seemed to be, and she had a feeling that this was what was happening.

"My boyfriend, Broen, is with Aslan... I think," she told Ithai with some uncertainty. "He mentioned going to see a proctor or someone, and it wasn't Claudius or Cornelius," she added. Pretty sure now that was who he was with. It made sense, especially if Aslan was complaining.

"This is not good, you know..." Zora said to Ithai, worry in her eyes, as she pulled out her phone and read the messages again to see if she had missed anything. "The prize, I think, is a throne of some kind?" she said shaking her head, "Do you know that that could be?" she asked him questioningly.

"Aslan? Huh, I didn't think that he would actually talk to anybody," Ithai said absently. "I haven't seen him all day so maybe that's why." Next to Claudius, Ithai would have pegged Aslan as the least likely to get up from the shop and walk off with a stranger.

"Wait a minute." He frowned. "Throne? You mean the Regalia one? Yeah, there's been a problem with that for the last few centuries but I didn't hear of- oh." Suddenly, everything was becoming increasingly obvious. "Oh," he said again, more quietly. "Aslan was right."

"I really don't know, probably..." Zora replied a bit uneasily when Ithai asked her if she was referring to the regalia throne. His surprised and sudden reaction only confirming her reservations, fears even, that something was not quite right with the competition.

"Right? He was right about what?" Zora asked, now worried, as she stepped forward towards Ithai, "What is he right about? And what is this regalia throne?" she asked him, feeling a sense of urgency, needing and wishing that he'd tell her what was going on.

"Take the regalia throne?" Zora said rather confused by this, not fully getting the implications of everything yet, trying to piece everything together, "What does that even mean? What happens to those that take the throne?" she asked suspiciously as a quiet sense of dread filled her at what that might mean. Regalias were in theory spirits, and to be at the helm... well, she wondered if that meant what she thought it meant?

"I mean," he trailed off for a moment in thought. "Theoretically, anybody can be a Regalia. It simply takes, well. Death." There wasn't any good way of saying it. "It involves dying. That's what it would mean to become a Regalia. Those of us without any spirit's blood in us, that's the only path open. Some people like me, we can skirt that rule because we're part spirit already. But the rest."

"I don't think that means Cornelius would just kill anybody who won, though," he said quickly. "That seems a little too extreme for him. As far as I know, he's never hurt anybody in his long life."

Zora grew pale at this. Ithai had voiced her concerns, answered her obvious, yet unasked, question, the part that had been left out of Broen´s message to her. To obtain the throne you, basically, must die, give up life.

"You say that, but a lot about this tournament has been kept quiet, kept quiet from those that run the event, and that worries me." she told him truthfully "You should have some knowledge about things, it doesn't matter if you are on the fringe or deep in the middle." she reasoned, glancing up at him.

He held up his hands. "I honestly have nothing to do with the tournament," Ithai said truthfully. "I only provide housing to Claudius and Aslan and those two have been with me since before this tournament even occurred so I know they didn't have any ulterior motives in doing so. If it helps, I've met Cornelius a few times and I can feel that he genuinely desires for the thing to be over peacefully."
