"No," Aiden shook his head quickly, though his blond hair fell back into place perfectly. "Granola and fruit are the safest things to eat. The noodle salad it's....it's how should I explain it? What's the worse thing you've ever eaten?"

"That sounds like a nasty, nasty drink," Aiden said, wrinkling his noise. "They probably put sour liquor in it. For some reason, they're always putting sour liquor in things like it's a good idea. Did they pour sour liquor in it?"

Aiden laughed.

He had decided he liked this woman.

It was a shame that she was probably going to die soon.

He held the door open for her at the cafeteria, flinching when he smelled that horrible noodle salad mess. "I'd offer to slip some vodka in your coffee, but I'm afraid I don't normally bring it to work with me. You'll have to settle for cream or sugar, unless you take your coffee black?"

Aiden laughed, because he did very well indeed know. He ran a hand through his blond hair again, then tucked it back into his lapcoat pockets.

Unfortunately, his laugh seemed to have summoned...something.

Outside, clouds gathered, lightning crackled, and it began to find it's way to the pair, slinking through the hallways, slithering up to them like the silent killer it was.

"Meow," said a tiny kitten, batting at Ekaterina's leg.

The kitten seemed to ignore her suggestion and patterd her leg.

Aiden looked down and sighed. "Another one? You'd swear, they're crawling out of the woodwork on this island. I don't know how many times i've offered spay/neuter clinics but there are still baby kittens everywhere."
