Appearance Description: Standing at a mere 6 inches in length, Adularia is the reinging Fairy Queen of Manta Carlos Island. Her hair is cut short, the blue-pink tipped ends seemingly natural despite it looking otherwise. Adularia has fair skin covered in ceremonial tattoos mark her years of experience and life. On her back are a pair of what would be considered fairy wings. She usually dresses in light royal clothing.
Personality Description: Adularia is a woman who is commonly described as merciless and a bit timid. She is not the type of person to talk a lot unless needed, and is more often more comfortable with showing what she means rather than giving an explanation. It is for this reason that she has maintained her position as the Ruling Queen of the jeweled fae; she is not afraid and will generally lay waste to anyone who challenges her.
Many people however, don't realize that she too displays moments of generosity and kindness. These moments are far in between, but have certainly created a massive loyal following within her small kingdom.
Powers:
Though her and her species are best easily described as Ethereal Fae, Adularia and her kind have common powers. Some within the royal lines however, have unique skills that enable them to maintain their position.
Common powers:
- Flight - Most fae of her species have wings that allow for flight. While they are capable of speeds rivaling a running human, the majority of winged fae prefer to hover and move slowly, as they have no usual need to rush.
- Enlightenment - The Jeweled fae are a race gifted with the full and deep understanding of the workings of the universe. This, however, does not guarantee perfect judgement.
- Limited immortality - After adulthood, their bodies cease to age and can live for thousands of years until killed or "resolved" death, which is often done called the "ceremony of passing".
- Magic - Majority of the Fae population is gifted with a specific spectrum of magic, sometimes more powerful than others. Generally, only the most powerful of the magic users become Queen.
Personal powers:
- Nature Manipulation - Adularia is able to manipulate nature to her will. This power encompasses three elements: Wind, Earth, and Water.
- Power Augmentation - Considered to be the reason why Adularia became Queen of the Fae and remains to be, is her ability to manipulate the potency of her own, and another being or items's innate or potential abilities. She has been known to unlock the potentials of others, and weaken her foes. Of course, doing this creates a lot of stress on her, and leaves her incredibly weakened.
Biography: Decades ago, when men commonly mined for a living, they had to bring offerings to the spirits before taking their loot of Jewels and Gems out of a cave lest they be cursed and killed. This is because they know that the Jeweled Fae reside in the caves of Manta Carlos.
They create their kingdoms within, upon packs of shimmering rocks. While they are invisible to normal human beings, they are visible to those who possess extraordinary spiritual power - a common thing within the islands nowadays. And among these invisible, magical beings — was the Ruling Queen.
The Ruling Queen was the most powerful magician of the female-dominant kingdom, and who becomes queen was decided upon a Ceremonial duel to the death. Whoever won said duel became Queen until their own death — which was either self-induced or inflicted; they are after all, effectively immortal.
Adularia became the Ruling Queen at a very young age, after serving as a knight under the previous Queen, Sappheiros. A gruelling duel was had between the two of them, until Sappheiros fell and left Adularia the crown.
It has been over 3000 years since her coronation, and she has yet to be beaten.
