Her major power is the ability to create, shape, and manipulate plants. She is capable of creating and growing vines, flowers, and plants at a rapid rate. She can manipulate their movement and even use these powers to combat foes. The limitations on it is environment; she can't do anything in an environment where nothing can grow. Infertile soil and deserts are terrible for her. Another limitation is that she cannot do this while she is in human form. She has to take on her dryad form if she wants to use this ability.
Her other ability is plant scrying. She is able to see through the eyes of a plant and gather information from it. It is like she is the plant itself; all of her five senses match up to the plant's. She can do this from varying distances, but she is limited to one plant at a time. Her body goes into a semi-conscious state when she does this. The distance also affects the effectiveness; the further away the plant is, the more problematic it is to hold a solid connection. Too far becomes the equivalent of static on the radio when the station is too far out of range. Harm done to the plant also affects her to a smaller degree. Killing the plant won't kill her, but it will make her cough blood.

She was fascinated by humans, but she was far too timid to ever meet them. Her father stumbled upon the dryad by pure accident, and they became intimate lovers. They had an affair which lasted for several months. During this affair, the nymph was impregnated with a baby during one of their romps. She had hopes that the man would stay by her side, but he instead left her and move on with his life. This left the poor dryad alone and heartbroken with a baby on the way.
Despite her escapades, her community remained helpful and loving as she went through several months of pregnancy. Her fellow dryads assisted her when she went into labor. Out came Violetta, a beautiful human-looking baby girl. While they were freaked out by her appearance, they nevertheless raised her as one of their own. Violetta had a whole family that kept her safe as the years went by. She aged slowly like a normal dryad, but had the appearance of a human. They lived in peace and harmony for many years.
Things became chaotic during the French Industrial Revolution. Because of the need for resources, many of their hamadryad kin died off quickly. Dryads were killed left and right accidentally. This caused the group to become smaller and smaller. The race panicked as they migrated away from France and to other forests in an attempt to remain with their beloved trees. It was a rough time for them. Expansion was making their lives in nature a lot more difficult. It also made them more fearful of the humans.
It would take many years until a letter was sent to Violetta from Starlight Academy. It was hard to track down the half-human, half-dryad due to her being within such a closed circle community. They were able to find her because she was spotted during one of the times which she sneaked out to experiment with her powers and also learn about the humans that seemed so destructive but had the capacity to be nice. It was a tough call, but she was eventually allowed to go to Manta Carlos and attend the academy. She continues her studies and sends messages back home from time to time.
