With a start Kaya saw Live appear out of the shadows. She had subconciously felt the shadow she had been in moving but she thought that was herself and her emotions playing with the her powers. She gave a sad smile as she tried to wipe away her tears. "That...and boy troubles." Seeing Live here did make her feel a little bit better. "But, I didn't think you'd be one to come to a dance."

Wiping off the tears for the last time she took a deep breath and looked to her friend. "Well, I say screw it. You want to go do something more fun?" She began to walk away from the school with her powers she altered the dress on her body to give her a dark T-shirt and a short skirt with her tail coming out from under it. "I never liked ballrooms any way...Know anything we can do?" She said looking back to her friend

Something about him tonight was effectively calming. Then again, hasn't it always been like that? If only he could see under her mask, he'd see her smile, a smile that was more of being comforted, really; not necessarily happy. The music picked up, and the girl was already spinning under his arms even before she could realize. The movement was comfortingly graceful, and once she was back in place, she immediately put her free hand back on his shoulder. She began to move his feet in rhythm with his, in rhythm with the music, slowly filling her head with this dance itself instead of the memories that haunted her.

The man chuckled, holding a hand up and shaking his head. "No, no. I canna' reveal. It wouldn' be a very smart idea."

Though the mask covered the movement, the mans eyebrow rose, amused. He pulled the ancient flask out again, shaking it. "Wha, this ol' thin'? Nothin' but me special brew."

Her new friend was suggesting they go off to introduce themselves to the woman with the parasol. "Yes, let us go introduce ourselves to her.". Parasol lady was very pretty but, not really Storm Feelers type. She walked over to her with her new weird hat friend. "Heya, thats a nice umbrella, my names Storm Feeler"

Charlie pretended to frown in disappointment at not finding out about Grant's lady. Ah well, to each their own. He wasn't too torn up about it. His eyebrow then raised about the "special brew". He wondered what was included in that special brew. Judging from the flask, it was probably an alcoholic beverage. This reminded him of a particular alcohol mix that existed in the bar he frequented. It was known as the suicide cocktail; it was a dangerous blend of terrible things that should never go together. He hadn't tried it yet, but he was curious.

Just when he was about to ask about the special brew, a familiar face showed up with a creepy cool getup and an awesome skull mask. The biggest grin appeared on the green-haired man's face as he turned to face his colleague.

"Damon! I'm glad you could make it. I've just been talking with one of the chaperons here."

Okay, this mask was starting to bother him. He decided to remove the mask from his face and instead hang it around his neck. Those slant yellow eyes were focused on the nightmare cop.

"It's been dull here. Nothing's been happening. I'm one second away from stirring up some chaos of my own."

He chuckled a bit, but he might not have been joking. It was hard to tell with the fedora-wearing demon.

Damon spun for Charlie briefly to unashamedly show his look off, and then lightly rested a dark clawed hand on his tall coworker's arm, mildly flirtatious. Mostly he was just casually smitten with the man in the background of his usual behavior, whoops.

He offered a playful wave to the chaperone. "Hey there. Officer Vesper atcha service." He especially wasn't hiding the cop bit of his identity, since people needed to know who to grab if something went terribly wrong. Like if it turned into a slasher movie (classy edition) or something- he'd of course take a moment to appreciate that scene, but right after that, justice and heroics, all that jazz.

Damon eyed Charlie, very intent as the other slipped the mask away. Kinda hard not to crush on someone when their face lights up at you, and then they stare at you like that, no, that uh, definitely didn't help. Aw, c'mon. Unfair.

He perked up at the updates and commentary, laughing. "Guess I have perfect timing, then, nobody should have to stir up chaos alone. Ah, but in all seriousness," not that what he'd said wasn't half a genuine offer or anything, "since there isn't anything going on, did you want to dance a bit at some point? That is the focus of this whole thing. We should take advantage of what we're offered." He left it unspoken that he'd absolutely take an interest in dragging Charlie off somewhere for. Things. It wasn't like they were the only ones watching over the apparently pretty uneventful event, so that'd be reasonable, right? Right.

He could afford to relax a bit, though. He had all night for shenanigans ahead of him. Chill, self proclaimed nightmare king, chill.

Versailles stepped cautiously away from the table she'd been sitting at since she'd arrived at the party. She felt awkward and clumsy without a tail to balance her out, even if she knew it was still really there. She'd bought some sort of magic thing that hid her tail and ears from sight, after all- what was the point of wearing a mask if you could still be identified? Her dress ruffled slightly as she stepped and her heels clicked softly on the floor. It was a rather pleasant sound to hear.
It was about time she started socializing though, perhaps find a dance partner. It was hard to understand people through their masks, but while she'd been sitting their Versailles had tried opening up her Clairaudience, so she could at least understand the students who were spirits of some kind.

Valentine Crowther wasn't hiding her presence, couldn't if she tried with the very special, specific aura of death she held. She dressed to accentuate who and what she was, as well as wanted to be, instead of covering it up.

She wore a dress that was half dark lacy fabric, half flowing living smoke, quite literally. It had magic upon it, a special aesthetic charm Val had taken it upon herself to learn for the occasion. Smoke flowed off of her moving skirts in waves. Upon her face, perfectly set, was a tasteful, horned half skull mask, held back by a black ribbon. Her two toned hair was loose, pretty and long again through her usual lengthening magic.

A lovely, sharp, skeletal woman that reeked of death and worse to come. It was an image, a persona for her that had lasted, and would continue to last, through the different points of her life.

She shifted in and out of the dance floor, being her own partner as well as taking a few at impulse, usually quickly leaving them again. There were a few individuals that, after making eye contact with her, fled the masquerade permanently. Probably old toys. It made her smile, and continued to dance with a mix of elegance and playfulness, embracing it all, light on her feet.

Boys. Everyone always seemed to have boy troubles. It was understandable, given that was just a part of life. Romance and shit. Live wasn't really one for all the stuff. But, she also secretly wished that boy troubles were something she had to deal with.

Live chuckled a big, "I'm not." She gestured to her black sweats, combat boots, and oversized gray hoodie. She also had on a few necklaces with about a dozen different charms on them. Some stones, symbols, or just something that looked like total junk. And of course, her pentagram necklace hung the lowest, stopping just below her chest. "I just came to observe."

Live watched as Kaya quickly changed her outfit from something less fancy. It had been quite a beautiful dress too. Most people wouldn't believe it but Live loved clothes and fashion. She only wore dark colors herself but that didn't mean she didn't appreciate a beautiful ball gown.

"Uh okay..." Live was still getting use to this whole friend thing with Kaya. She did enjoy the girl, it was just hard for her to have friends or know how to act around them.

She started to follow the girl, "I mean, I was just walking enjoying the darkness. To me that's kinda my definition of fun so..." Wow, she probably sounded so stupid. Sulking around in the dark was her idea of fun...geez could she get any more weird?

ScarletParasols trick had worked, other people came to her. A girl in a lightning bolt mask, and another with a piece of cloth over their eyes and strange metal parts on the top of their head. ScarletParasol felt something weird about this girls mask, it got into her head, asked her questions.

"CAN YOU FEEL THE STORM"

"Yes hello, my name is Scarlet, a pleasure to meet you." she said greeting the two of them. "I can feel the storm" what, she didnt say that, or at least she didnt think about saying it? Strange.
