Saitou Yuzuru

"Is that so?" Yuzuru's voice was light but he could not help the frown that crept onto his face. "How very strange. I was not given a choice in the matter at all." If his perception of the school had not been less than generous before, it certainly was now. He had never thought that there would be a time when he would long for home but since the world seemed so determined to force him to the contrary these days, the feeling was rooted in him now. Yuzuru actually was beginning to miss being surrounded by his senseless relatives. At the very least, they were familiar, not like all of these other strange characters.

"I doubt that anything I say will change my enrollment in that class but thank you for telling me in any case." Perhaps if... No. He could never do that. If he were to cause enough of a ruckus, he would surely be sent back home but the thought of acting so disorderly unsettled him.

Ellyn felt her cheeks grow warm as she realized what she'd done. Had she just caused problems for the teachers? Why would they force him to take the power classes? Was it because he didn't believe in magic and they wanted to prove to him that such things were true? Well, too late now. She was saying all the wrong things, and it was getting on her nerves.

She sighed slightly before her smile turned more strenuous. "You're welcome. I hope you enjoy your stay on the island," she sounded too polite, stiffly so, but she doubted he would notice. He had the same air about him. "I have to head out, but it was nice meeting you."

Ellyn held out a hand.

The edging back to formality was something so familiar to him that indeed, Yuzuru saw nothing strange about Ellyn's tone at all. What it had registered as to him was simply space to think things through. He could not help but think that somebody was trying to thoroughly trap him in this horrid type of life, which was nothing more than a long and winding dead end.

He looked at that hand offered to him and simply bowed instead. "Forgive me," Yuzuru said, and the tone was slightly more genuine than usual. "It was nice meeting you. Please do not let me keep you any longer."
