'Inappropriate'? As if he of all people would know. Or, especially, care. He did what he wanted, things were really just as simple as that; why so many people had to make them more complex was rather beyond him.

"Then try. Stop being quite so worried about everything, especially around someone like me who doesn't get sick, and just... cut loose, I think people say? Whatever the expression is," Kai suggested with a little shrug. Idly slipping his other hand out of its pocket with another slight wince in pain, he offered that arm out... even if he did still glare slightly at those gloves. He supposed he could sort of understand the reasoning in this case, but that didn't change the fact that he still didn't like people wearing such things around him, being so unnecessarily cautious.

Oh well... this once, he supposed he might not complain. Just this once.

"In fact... why not tonight, if you're not too busy or anythin'? I dunno the place too well just yet, but I've seen a few good places to eat at; could always try. My treat an' all," he offered with a little, friendly grin.

It couldn't exactly be said that he wasn't stubborn, after all; he'd decided in his own way to pursue her, and so he would.

Ekaterina Dmitrievna Kalinina

"I don't normally worry that much," Ekaterina said, her tone slightly protesting as she saw to that sprain. In this regard, she thought, the anatomy should be similar enough to a typical human. Perhaps if her expertise had more of an emphasis on general medicine, she could have gone at the task faster. But as she was, the doctor merely went at her own pace, making sure that the wrappings weren't too tight and that she wasn't causing more harm than good. "Being on the island, it just makes me consider more possible consequences. More people, more species, more powers. So much can go wrong if you go at it too quickly. Slower is better. Generally speaking, anyways."

Because thank God that Cunningham had gone ahead and addressed everybody involved when that strange gender changing spell had been put on some of the school population. Ekaterina hadn't really wanted to see what the result of sexual explorations would cause. Although, theoretically, she supposed that she could always check with Wong. Which was a very disturbing thought, really. It was always a bad idea to think of perfectly nice colleagues as subjects for that kind of investigation. Not to mention, it would probably give him some kind of awful panic attack.

At the invitation, her train of thought stopped dead before transitioning on as she automatically thought of her schedule. "Shifts tonight, none scheduled. The hospital has seen a minor increase in staff recently. The infirmary as well. Now if only I could persuade Dr. de Santis to take more shifts. I can't believe he went through so many years of medical school just to do a single surgery every few weeks. Such a waste there. I was planning on cornering him about it. Again."

It never did get through to him, did it?

Getting back to what Kai had actually asked, she frowned a tad. It more or less blended in with her usual look. "Are you going to keep pressing the subjectt?" she asked. Just to be certain where they stood.
