Reading what the girl wrote down was rather confusing. I seemed hat the translation hadn't worked as well because of all the words that she had tried to translate to her. It came out as a mess. There were some parts that she could understand of her message, but others that made no sense to her. Was there a different way to understand her? Maybe if she wrote in smaller messages, it would work better? She wasn't sure, and she didn't think that asking her through a message would help any. Blinking a few times, she sighed as she read her last message. That one sort of explained the last one, in a way, though she wasn't even sure if the two were connected. She wrote something that would hopefully make more sense. 'That's good to hear, this is good yes.' She then passed her the phone with a bright smile plastered across her face.

Kim In Suk

That was a little bit of a strange reply, In Suk thought. Maybe that was just the translator messing up. Oh! Maybe it was messing up on her end, too? Well, it couldn't hurt to explain it a bit more. And besides, she was actually having fun.

"I'm not outgoing. So what we are doing is good," she wrote, trying to make it as simple as possible. "I like to talk to one person at a time. Small groups. It's nice."

Then again, people in general here seem to be pretty nice, too. She had known it before but now that she was really having a conversation with somebody besides Ji Hye, it seemed so clear. Not that In Suk meant any offense to Ji Hye or anything! But Ji Hye was Korean so there was a sense that in the us and them, Ji Hye was definitely an us.

But that might have been because In Suk had never left Korea before her letter to Starlight had arrived. It was hard to communicate with the them when she simply never saw any around. Now things were so new. It was great! Everything seemed to have this sparkle to it. Nice to look at, probably even better to explore.

Which meant that once she was done with going around, she could go back to her dorm, work on a few projects, and still admire the view. Because that was probably what was going to happen. Even though she had made a minor resolution to be more social, well. Who was she kidding? She'd never be a social butterfly which might have been considered sad on some levels but.

The possibilities! Magic was wonderful. Speaking of which-

"Do you know where I can buy things cheap magical?" She typed after a moment. "I like everything. But I do not have to a lot of money. And I always end up buying food."

Looking at the girls message on her phone, she lightly nodded, knowing that she too wasn't outgoing at all. She would much rather keep to herself then have a lot of friends, and to her that was okay. It was something that she was now used to. She knew a lot of people, that thought that friendship was everything, but to her it wasn't Maybe it was because of the fact that she had never truly had any friends? Maybe if she spent enough time with a person, and developed a good friendship, or maybe even more, that she wouldn't feel so happy with always being on her own. It was really just a thought to her though, a theory. She had to take action if she wanted anything to change from what it was know. Even if it was just one person, maybe even if it was the girl in front of her, that became her first real friend, she would be happy with that.

As the girl wrote another message, she read it carefully, but was unsure of exactly what she meant. What type of magic was she talking about? Like a wand or actual magical powers? She knew that there was a sort of, underground area to the island now, but she was unsure of it's purpose and what it was used for. Taking the phone to reply it took her a few seconds to figure out what to say. 'What type of magic were you looking for?' She asked cautiously, no waiting to take her somewhere or suggest a place that was of no used to her. She wasn't even sure if there were any good shops with magical things in them. There had to be though, considering the type of island they were on.

What kind? To be honest, In Suk hadn't really thought about that. Because she hadn't really known what to expect of the island before she arrived, she had brainstormed things that she had read from books. Not seriously, just as mental preparation for being there. Although it did seem that was kind of useless because besides the odd show of power or the average nonhuman walking down the street, the entire island more or less functioned as what felt like a normal city on the outside.

"I really do not know," the girl confessed. In general, magic stuff. I thought it would be a lot here. So, whatever interesting. However, there seems to be normal in many stores. I feel like I'm still in the house. Only, the view is different. Maybe I'm not looking in the right place. Sometimes you go out to look for stuff. And I become distracted."

She rolled her eyes with a sheepish expression. "I can easily lose track of time. I will be lost. I do not like the map very much." Which didn't make any sense since she liked doing the wiring inside of her machines just fine.

But maps, there was something just weird about them. It seemed like they should be clean because paper was so nice and crisp and smooth and the lines looked like they were more or less of consistent widths. But then the roads would get really messy and tangled and In Suk would lose interest. Sure, the inside of her machines was sometimes a bit messy, too, but it was a tidy mess. Maps were often a messy tidiness and that was just plain strange.

Thinking in between each message that she showed her, she really had no idea if she could give this girl directions to anywhere. She wasn't good with navigation, nor did she know the island enough to tell her exactly where anything would be. Was there a direction board somewhere close by? Probably not. Maybe just a regular map or tour guide? That was most likely a no too. It seemed that their best bet was to try to find something together, because she wasn't going to leave her new friend all alone to find it for herself.

As she continued to explain on, it seemed that she didn't know much more than she did about the island. She wanted somewhere magical, in a sense, and for being on a magical island, it seemed that she half expected the place to be filled with real, visible magic. So had Fontaine, but she really didn't know how to tell anyone or even herself what type of magic she had expected. The colorful stuff you see in movies and hear about? Or maybe she was looking to break the somewhat curse on her, to try to find a way to make friends, to open up to people. Or maybe it wasn't even that, maybe she was looking for love? Maybe love was her magic because she thought it didn't exist. Shaking her head as she realized that she really shouldn't be going into such detail over something so tiny, she returned her attention back to Kim.

Waiting until Kim was done typing to her, she lightly took the phone from her hands and typed ferociously. 'Well, considering that I don't know where a magic store would be, would you like to walk around with me and look?' She typed in the phone and waited a few seconds before continuing. 'And if we don't find anything we could go and eat something, or shop?' It sounded as if she was asking her on a date. but in Fontaine's mind, she really didn't know what to make out of what she had just typed to the girl. Giving Kim the chance to grab the phone o reply, a light blush crossed her face as she wondered how well her words would translate.

Kim In Suk

In Suk ran the translator and fortunately for everybody's sake, the result was not incredibly embarrassing. The first part came out in Korean the same way that it was meant in English. Just a nice walk between two people who were maybe friends or, at the very least, could be given a bit more time. When she read the second part, however, In Suk had to giggle. If there was something there that sounded like a pass, it was overshadowed by the fact that the literal translation was something along the lines of Let's go and eat a store.

Even though she knew that Fontaine probably hadn't meant to say it that way, she couldn't help but feel herself liking the other girl a bit more. Usually, whenever somebody made her laugh for the first time, that was the point when In Suk knew that they'd get along brilliantly. As in, she might accidentally set something on fire because she was so happy about that. Although, she had to also the consider the idea that maybe that was the reason why she didn't have any close friends.

"Great!" In Suk typed in a noticeably cheerful manner, bobbing her head a little. The motion jolted the neglected dragonfly in her hair to movement. "Then, I will follow you!"

Blinking with a light blush across her face as the girl laughed, she wasn't sure if it was a good or bad laugh. A bad laugh would mean that she disliked the idea, and thought that maybe Fontaine was even too weird. A good laugh would be that it was a bad translation, or maybe she was even surprised by her offer.

A few seconds later, she watched the girl as she typed, wanting to know what her laugh meant. As Kim finished and turned the phone for her to see, her face lit up with a bright smile. Nodding a yes to the girl, she quickly looked around, as it seemed that the girl was now looking to follow her to wherever she planned on going. Where on earth was she supposed to go with the girl? Thinking for a moment, she thought about just heading in a direction to find a store, but that may lead both of them to get lost. Sighing as she squinted her eyes in thought, she wondered if just walking around with the girl would be enough to maybe find what she was looking for.

Without even thinking about it, she stepped towards the girl, and grabbed her hand. She was about to speak to tell her that she was ready to go, but she then remembered that they had been talking through a phone the entire time. Squeezing the girl's hand, she hoped that Kim was okay with her holding onto it, that she wouldn't feel weirded out by it or anything like that. Waiting a few seconds to see her reaction, she started to walk backwards, motioning them both to move and explore.

Kim In Suk

Oh! A warm, tingling sensation shot right through her body. It took In Suk only a moment of looking at their now joined hands to identify the feeling as pure, giddy joy. Mom, Dad, I'm socializing! See? It was the weirdest nice feeling she had ever experienced, although there was also this small part of her that decided to put in its two cents. When the only way you could communicate was with your hands, having one of them gone was a bit like having another handicap.

But that's why technology is a wonderful thing! In Suk thought optimistically. Besides, girl friends -meaning friends who were girls, not the other thing!- in Korea held hands all the time, if they were close. People didn't hold In Suk's hand that often, partially because of um her lack of close friends and also probably because more often than not, she usually had something in them.

In that moment, In Suk made a split second decision. This girl? She was going to be her best friend forever. And she completely meant that in a way that shouldn't have sounded creepy in the least! She hoped so anyways.

Squeezing Fontaine's hand, In Suk followed along happily. The strap of her phone slipped past her wrist like a bracelet, leaving her free to unconsciously signalling a stream of nonsense with her other hand. Things along the lines of yay! and fun!
