Name: Prema Defan
Age: 28
Birthday: July 4th
Gender: Female
Category: Villain
Occupation: Mercenary
Appearance Description:
Prema is a blonde-haired hottie if you can get past the crazed smile. Her hair is naturally curly, and she often allows it to remain this way. Currently parts of her hair is dyed fuchsia and blue. It's pulled up into two curly ponytails that sit on each side of her head. She has rather large cleavage; she fills out a E cup. Her stomach is fairly flat, and she has a decent sized rear. Her limbs are fairly short in length. She stands at a mere 5'0'', but do not underestimate her because of this. Her eyes are crystal blue. She has healthy pale skin, but she often uses makeup to make her face white.
Prema runs around in grunge fashion. She has ripped clothes and slouchy fabrics. She's a variant that wears flashy colors. So a number of pieces are in bright colors and appear in ripped condition. There's also a hint of punk mixed in as well to her outfits. She has a thing for shorts and sneakers and refuses to walk in heels. She actually can't walk in heels; she tends to fall flat on her ass when she tries. Her makeup tends to give her a harlequin face. White face paint with colorful eye shadow and bold mascara. Add some red lipstick for good measure! She wears jewelry in the form of small earrings and chokers. She rarely wears jewelry that dangles.
Personality Description: Prema is a rebel. She's also not quite sane. Her thought process is questionable considering the fact her answer to many situations is violence via explosions. She enjoys using her powers way too much, and she especially loves using them to cause chaos. She doesn't care much for order and would much rather make things crazy. This makes her a risky choice as a mercenary because she won't act via the cleverest methods; she's no assassin. She's more of a straight killer than assassin. She believes in doing things herself and using her own two hands. When she does organize chaos, she often puts herself in the middle of it. She's not about to sit back and let others have the fun. That'd be something her boring older sister would do! She has a soft spot for puppies and will likely spare dogs. Actually don't be surprised if she blows up a family and steals their dog. She's just messed up like that.
Powers: While what Prema does can be considered pyrokinesis, it's really a branch of kinetic powers focused on explosions. She can generate bombs with her mind. She can make grenades, fire bombs, and even smoke bombs. She notably does not have the ability to make anything on a large scale, so no she can't create a nuclear bomb. If she could, then that would be a huge issue. She also can't make magic-based bombs because she's not magic; the closest she can get is psionic bombs. She can also control existing bombs and make them either detonate earlier or later than usual. She can also manipulate the explosion radius but can't make a large scale explosion. She could blow up a room easily, but if she wants to blow up a whole skyscraper, then she's going to need a bunch of bombs and not just one. She can manipulate the timing but not the radius of magic bombs. She can't do anything with an atomic or nuclear bomb or anything on that scale of destruction. All of the listed actions that she can do require mental energy. If she overdoes it, then her own brain would explode from overuse. Well, more like fry, but you get the point. Creation requires more energy than manipulation; creations that are manipulated use double the energy.
Biography: The Defans were a long line of kinetic users. Pyrokinesis, telekinesis, chlorokinesis, you name it. They could utilize psionics in various ways. It was an easy feat for them all. Prema was no exception to the rule; she quickly developed her own abilities as a kid. She was able to produce sparks. She could make harmless fireworks. That was fine with her; she loved the bright colors and explosions. She wasn't too bothered by her powers. Heck, it was better than having no powers at all like her older sister Abia! Her parents placed all their hopes on the younger sister. This would serve as a source of stress, but she would manage it...for a while.
That was until her sister decided to act out against her. She used bullying as a method to get to the younger sister. She acquired a bunch of friends and connections that would pick on her. They pointed out how weak and pathetic her special talent was. What was the use of stupid fireworks? Making pretty sparks and colors was for little kids! They cackled at her expense. It led her to try various hobbies in an attempt to get another special talent. She wanted to be somebody! They eventually narrowed down to two things: softball and theater.
Abia was also into softball, and thus they fought over batting percentages. Even so, she would always trail just behind her older sister. Her parents were no help either. Once she started struggling with grades, they flipped on her entirely. Was she really going to let her powerless sister beat her?! Why couldn't she do any better? While some of that pressure was fabricated in Prema's steadily deteriorating mind, it was backed by her parents' actual insistent pushing and the bullying from her classmates and family. Abia even managed to get their cousins in on the act.
While Abia eventually became disinterested in kicking Prema around, the scars for Prema were still there. When the thoughts were too much, she would take drugs. She would even do drugs before important events as a relaxation method. She struggled to do anything without comparing herself to others. She made it into a big competition. She would lie and cheat her way to victory. That's how desperate she was to be on top. This extended into her developing theater career. As a budding actress, the competition was intense. She had to shine somehow. She had to get on top somehow. She made loads of enemies on the way up the mountain. This escalated all the way to a faithful night.
She was cast in a play that would be vital to her career. There were a number of critics there, and the theater was packed. She had the leading role. She did perfectly fine in the first act. Prema was splendid. However, some of supporting cast were particularly salty about her stealing the lead role. There were rumors that she did unscrupulous activities for the role, and she was irritating to deal with during rehearsals. They decided to pull a prank on her that was meant to go on off-stage. However, things did not go as planned. The prank managed to leak its way into the epic second act of the show and ruined the climax. Prema was humiliated in front of an audience filled with people.
She began hallucinating on stage. She saw her older sister in the best seats of the house laughing at her.
"Once pathetic, always pathetic Prema!"
The rest of the audience also laughed along with Abia while wearing variations comedy masks. She proceeded to completely break down on stage. In reality, those responsible felt bad for pulling the prank and were trying to force the show into an intermission. In her hallucination, she saw the cast laughing at her as well. What led her to completely snap was seeing her parents stand up and glare at her from the front row.
"We've had just about enough."
"What a disappointing display...couldn't you have done better Prema?"
"You're a disgrace. You can never do anything right!"
"We should have never had you."
Her "useless" fireworks upgraded into dangerous explosives. Whoops.
The theater was blown to bits. She escaped, but she was forever changed. She began painting her face entirely with makeup to hide her flaws. She took the image of a harlequin; after all, she was a laughingstock right? RIGHT?! She took out her anger by using her powers. Her powers were useless, right? Say that when your house is gone! She became addicted to painkillers and hallucinatory drugs. She cut herself off from her family entirely, under the false impression that they hated her and all wanted to make fun of her. What was even more ironic that unbeknownst to Abia, Prema was buying up drugs from her. So even now the older sister was shoving her younger sister further down into a ditch.
She's started acting as a mercenary for hire. It's her powers that mostly assist her with killing. She also has a habit of destroying evidence with explosions. What she needs is rehab and an Islets bracelet, but try convincing her to come quietly.
