Appearance
Appearance Description : Anh Sang is just your everyday cute little Asian, right down to the long black hair and bowl cut bangs. She has puffy cheeks and is surprisingly fit because of all the running around she does. She just never stops. For now, she stands at just four feet five inches tall.

Usually, Anh Sang wears a black dress that goes down to her kneecaps. Under it, she wears long white pants and a white blouse.

Personality

Worst Memory: When Anh Sang was young, she wanted nothing more than to be a doctor like her parents. She played doctor all the time with her dolls but one day, she accidentally stepped on one of her dolls and broke it. After trying to fix it, she put it on a shelf to "rest" and her mother accidentally threw it away. Anh Sang cried for days.

Best Memory: Anh Sang had always dreamed of being a magic princess and all of the games she made up were always centered around that. One day, after watching Sailor Moon, she decided to do a cool pose like the characters did and accidentally activated her powers for the first time.

Artistic and energetic, Anh Sang is the sort of child who is easily attracted to pretty things and pretty people. She acts her age and sometimes younger, though she likes to think of herself as a grown up and clings on stubbornly to her opinions. She becomes frustrated easily but rarely goes into fits. An all around good girl, Anh Sang doesn't normally go around breaking the rules on purpose. The same goes for upsetting people. However, since her judgment hasn't fully matured yet, she often acts on impulse without thinking of how her actions affect other people. So often, Anh Sang will take the more selfish option as long as there doesn't seem to be any immediate negatives for other people. She also has the general mentality that most adults are reasonable people and the world is a decently kind place, although that idealistic view has recently been shaken. She is naive and easily trusts other people, especially if they're older than her and if she perceives them as awesome. This is very frequently.

Anh Sang is young, so she doesn't take things very seriously and many concepts will pass straight over her head. She's naturally energetic and hates having to sit down to do things unless it's something art related. It's pretty rare that she'll have fits over something but she does get frustrated pretty easily. If that frustration is directed towards her art, though, it often helps the product turn out better. Well. As good as a ten year-old can make it anyways. She is still pretty childish for her age, due to a sheltered upbringing and her own cheerful outlook.

Anh Sang has fully embraced the idea of magic and enjoys discovering new uses for her own powers. Sometimes this ends kind of badly but by far the worst was that one time when her roommate suddenly went berserk on the student body. Still, Anh Sang maintains the belief that magic is good and beautiful. Mostly. Usually.

Powers

Discovered when: Age 7

Discovered how: While playing make believe and imitating Sailor Moon

How/Why they have it: Anh Sang's family has an established magical lineage on both sides. Her father's side is littered with light and fire manipulators, as well as the occasional lightning or wind manipulator. Her mother's side is known for having high amounts of magic that are normally only used for augmenting other powers. Both sets of powers managed to skip her parents before finding a happy medium in Anh Sang herself.

Active Abilities: Fairy Princess Rainbow Call Ame no Uki Hashi - Anh Sang can honestly say that she's been to the end of the rainbow and unfortunately, there's no delicious pot of gold at the end, only disappointment. When she was young, her abilities were more inconsistent and difficult to control. The years on Manta Carlos, however, have taught her discipline. Where she once was only able to utilize sources of natural light for her photokinesis, she has since learned to draw upon artificial sources as well. However, her gain in knowledge has been met by an equal loss of ability. Once capable of amazing feats only remotely related to her type of magic, her new understanding of how the world -specifically, science- works has cost her the naive belief that anything is possible through the most tenuous of connections.

Like a plant, Anh Sang takes energy from local light sources. She is able to convert this light into pure, non-elemental magic or compress the energy into solid and semi-solid shapes. The hardness of such light depends on how much she compresses at once. Generally speaking, something as hard as wood or stone would require using all of the light Anh Sang manages to collect within a day. The size of this material would be about the size of a brick and easily molded into different shapes. For something more translucent, it would take about a few hours of light collecting to achieve the same mass of material.

Technically speaking, compressing the light together takes no time at all (as it occurs at the speed of light). This means that Anh Sang is theoretically able to transport all the light she has collected over the years at the same - as long as she's fine with being absolutely blinded by it. Possibly for life. In practice, she tends to carry around half a week's worth of light at all times, keeping the rest of it safely hidden away. In her closet. It gets annoying when she has to actually sleep.

Once capable of separating white light into different colors, Anh Sang has since lost the ability due to her understanding of how wavelengths function. Her newest projects involve being able to manipulate the wavelengths of light to create different colors, possibly even colors not visible to the human eye. She has met only a little success in manipulating larger wavelengths in the visible light spectrum. This is probably due to the fact that Anh Sang is not good at science and trying to actively rely on science-based explanations for her own powers only ends up crippling her. She tries not to think too hard about it.

When converting light to pure magic, Anh Sang is able to transfuse it into objects for later use or people for their own use. Once turned into magic, however, it can no longer be transformed back to light.

Creations :
  • Common Butterflies : White Light, Soft : Pretty but largely useless, these butterflies can be used to send image messages at the speed of light. Anh Sang normally uses them to contact her parents who are currently working in Osaka. Her messages are sometimes images of her gesturing, sometimes images of things that she had written or drawn.
  • White Butterflies : White Light, Hard : Functions the same as common butterflies, but with higher opacity. This is also one way that Anh Sang likes to keep hard light stored. Often, her butterflies can be found fluttering around her as she goes about her day.
  • Shiny Marbles : White Light, Hard plus Pure Magic : The end product of some of Anh Sang's failed projects. They are essentially pints of pure magic with shells of slightly hard white light. When thrown, they shatter on impact and act like flash grenades with a moderate amount of force.
Sound Manipulation - Anh Sang has learned how to manipulate sound by expanding her control of the electromagnetic spectrum (formerly only light, the visible spectrum). First, she must convert radio waves into sound, which she does by taking the energy emitted from the radio wave and compressing it into sound, a different type of energy. She is then able to manipulate the sound, altering pitch, loudness (a barely audible whisper to almost but not quite as loud as a rocket launch), and frequency (from frequencies too low for a human to hear to ultrasound normally used for medical diagnoses).

Bestowed Powers :
NONE

Transformation
- Anh Sang can transform into her alternate self, Celestial Guardian Himiko. In this form, she can only use her Guardian abilities and none of her original powers. She also cannot use any of this form's abilities in her natural form. While in her Guardian form, Himiko is five feet tall, with white hair and black eyes with a red glint. She has mushroom themed hair accessories and her twin braids are tied with skull-adorned hairbands. She wears a light brown dress that has short, transparent sleeves and a skirt that falls just above the knees. It looks a bit like a mushroom cap. Her boots are brown and she also wears white gloves. In this state, Himiko is unrecognizable from her natural form.

Weapon Summoning
- Guardians have the ability to summon a weapon. In Himiko's case, this is a large scythe as big as she is. Though she has no skill with the weapon yet, she innately knows how to wield it. It disappears and reappears at will. If thrown or cast aside, it will automatically return to Himiko's hand after a moment of time.

Mother Shroom
- Himiko has the ability to generate and manipulate mushrooms. Mushrooms must be generated on porous surfaces and can grow to unnatural sizes fairly quickly. These may only grow to be as big as she is (five feet tall). They have all the properties of normal mushrooms and are otherwise not magical in themselves. She can only generate and manipulate mushrooms within a radius of fifty feet. If she cannot see the mushrooms, she has a much harder time controlling them.

Passive Ability: Peak Form
- Guardians have heightened reflexes and agility, though it never surpasses the peak of human limitations and is only a few degrees greater than what they're already capable of in their natural form. Guardians feel full of energy when in their Guardian form. In addition, they are more durable than the average human, their bones are less likely to break and their wounds are less likely to be severe in natural. A fall from the top of a building will hurt them but will not critically injure them. If they are sick or disabled in their human form, their Guardian form is completely free of such complications.

Guardian Sense
- All Guardians can sense the presence of other Guardians when in Guardian form within a 50 foot radius, though not exact coordinates or direction. This helps them maintain territories. They can also sense whether someone/something is an evildoer/abomination upon meeting them. If a Guardian is to be culled, Guardians have an enhanced ability to sense that they are a Marked Guardian in either form.

Weaknesses: Silenced - Guardians are physically unable to speak, write, sign, or communicate in any way the purpose of the Celestial Guardians (in both forms).

Exhaustion
-
Being in Guardian form is extremely exhausting and can only be maintained a few hours a day. After transforming and being back in her natural form, extreme exhaustion hits and Anh Sang is very likely to completely black out and sleep for up to twenty-four hours unless disturbed.

Narcolepsy
-
All Guardians have a case of narcolepsy when in their natural form and are very likely to frequently pass out , experience exhaustion or have a cataplexy attack.

Transformation... Sequence?
-
Guardians cannot enter their Guardian form without going through a magical transformation sequence. This leaves them vulnerable for at least 40 seconds while they transform.

There is nothing of interest here.

History

Father: Phạm Văn Thọ Hữu : 范文友苴 (40) Brain Surgeon
Mother: Yoshida Izumi : 吉田泉 (40) Anesthesiologist
Sibling: None

Childhood: Anh Sang was born to a couple who, while having never attended Starlight Academy themselves, were nonetheless familiar with Manta Carlos Islands. Her mother and father, though without powers, regularly kept in contact with the magic-users in their families and thus were able to effectively deal with their daughter's powers when they manifested.

The Pham family is close knit, because Anh Sang's powers have given a way to stay in contact constantly. Though she was born in Ho Chi Minh City, Anh Sang has spent half of her short life in Osaka, her mother's hometown. Her entire childhood was filled with movement between these two places.

When Anh Sang finally turned ten, her parents decided that it was time for her to receive some sort of formal magical education. Rather than hand her over to the Ishikawas in Japan (Anh Sang's maternal aunt married into the family), they decided to send her off to Manta Carlos instead, thinking that it would give her more freedom.

Teenage years: -Not Yet A Teenager!-

There is nothing of interest here.

Additional Information :Anh Sang is able to speak both Japanese and Vietnamese as well as English. Since her parents have tried very hard to keep her from speaking with an Osaka accent, Anh Sang normally uses standard Japanese. However, at times she is known to slip into the accent accidentally.
