In truth, admitting he wasn't a drinker was a double-edged sword. He was honest, but Amélie wasn't the biggest proponent of honesty. It also suggested he really was a bit young, though it was not yet a deal-breaker. Ultimately, Amélie smiled and feigned appreciation of the boy's honesty.

"It must be quite a journey to come here. First time living away from parents?" Amélie asked. A sheltered boy could explain quite a bit. "It was my first time as well, though it's been a few years."

She had one more question for the boy, before she decided on what to do with him. "So you're in school... at Starlight Academy? Me too. What do you study?" Even if he was still in grade school, she'd like to hear a more interesting answer.

"I study astronomy myself. But I study and do magic on the side," Amélie started to give the boy a better idea of what she was looking for.

"It's a party hun, I live for parties." Kendi said as she swirved around this boy as he danced with her her moves flowing around him similar to the water that was in the air. For Zeyn had started this dance so she was letting him be the center of attention. "Though I do have to compliment you hun, you're dancing is very complimentary to mine." Her tail coiled around them but kept out of their way. Her body dancing between his legs to keep her tail from messing up his dance. "Do you dance with others like this often?"

He flashed her another smile as he continued to gracefully move back and forth, sliding from one move to the next effortlessly. "Normally I don't dance with others. They never seem to get the moves right." He chuckled and took a brief moment to concentrate and separate the water he had since been twirling around himself into thousands of tiny beads.

Each refracted and reflected the light that hit it causing them to glow as if there were thousands of diamonds suspended in the air. As such, the water sent ripples of light cascading over Zeyn's form. His skin appeared to shift between a dusky brown to an almost pale complexion. Meanwhile his hair had since sprang free from its binding and danced in the light as Zeyn continued to move.

He ended his dance by causing the water to disperse into increasingly smaller beads until it seemed like Zeyn was bathed in light. Then, in the blink of an eye, the water disappeared, and he casually waved to the now crowd of onlookers as they clapped and cheered.

"Well, aside from the party atmosphere, how are you this fine evening?" He said as he turned to the woman who had been his dance partner.

"Oh no, I've been on my own for a while now," when he'd died, he could of told his parents he'd come back, but he'd seen a chance for freedom and took it. "Just, I never imagined a place like this existed," he'd ran into someone from the island, they'd told him about it and he'd come, "I'd spent some time reading up on the supernatural back home, but it was hard to tell what was real, what was fake, don't have to worry about that here."

"I'm going to study on the undead, zombies, ghosts, the works," he said with the curiosity appearing in his eyes, "and I've found myself interested in necromancy." He knew necromancy was somewhat unpopular among magic users, with a dark reputation, but he didn't care, "there's lot of different magic, but it caught my eye."

"Astronomy? Well, they say the stars and their alignments have a part in rituals." He tilted his head curiously, "what kind of magic?" he asked with a small smile, "hope you don't mind me asking, I can't help but be curious."

"That is a shame hun, well I guess I can say the same. Though for me, they tend to focus to much on my tail." Kendi said as they continued to move around each other fluidly. Like the water floating around them. Though at the same time it seemed like the young boy changed his water to do what her's had been doing but it began to become a lot more tiny droplets suspended in air, not one to spoil things Kendi began to mimic his performance with the water until all of them were gone and they had stopped dancing.

Smiling Kendi realized that she hadn't introduced herself to Zeyn yet. Her back shot straight and her tail tightened it's coils a bit. Turning she looked at Zeyn, hand outstretched. "OH! I am so sorry. I'm Kendi by the way." Kendi had a beaming smile on as she waited for Zeyn to take her hand in the hand shake. "After that little number we did I feel great, it's always fun to exert yourself with activities. Especially ones that are fun!" As she said this Kendi's stomach growled a little bit. "...and it turns out that I've worked up an appetite. Want to grab some food with me?"

As high as he was, River still noticed the stranger's face fall when he thought he missed his shot. He was about to comment when it dropped into the garbage can anyways. "Wow. Lucky shot. Now that you probably couldn't do again. Unless your power has something to do with luck?"

Laughing, he returned the grin, sharp teeth glinting in the light. Then he started looking around for more bottle caps. River was a fan of challenge himself, and a bottle cap throwing competition seemed like it might be amusing. Especially if he could turn it into a drinking contest somehow. The half-demon didn't drink very often, but he could if he wanted to.

"I think I'll pass on the autograph. I'm just a starving student. Besides you've only done it twice. I could beat that. Wanna try me? We only need to find some caps... or we could just take them off some beer bottles - could be more fun that way, eh?."

Just as River went to grab some of said beer bottles, someone cannonballed into the pool, and it distracted him enough that he stopped paying attention to where he was going. And apparently he wasn't the only one.

Usually he had good reflexes, but between being drugged and the girl running into him, it was hard to stay on his feet. The boy reached out a hand to steady himself, grabbing at the nearest solid object, which happened to be her arm. One of his talons caught and ripped a shallow cut down it. Not serious, but still bloody.

"Shit, sorry!" he said, as the jostling made his own wound start bleeding again.

Well, fate had decided to be a jerk today.

Celeste was, needless to say, caught by surprise by the cut that now ran across the underside of her right arm, a bit below the wrist. It bled, but wouldn't require medical attention right now, at least she'd hoped. In the confusion during the scratch, she'd spilled the remainder of her punch on the guy next to the scratcher. His shirt was now covered in red liquid.

"Woah!", Celeste interjected while stabilizing herself. She then caught a look at the 'weapon', this kid's cool talons. "Woahhhh!! But I'd better not die to those things", Celeste said to him, forgetting the disaster for a moment. "Oh, and, uh, sorry", she apologized to the bystander.

Smiling, Zeyn shook her hand and then chuckled as she mentioned food. "Yeah, food is probably a good idea. It is a party after all." He grinned as he dramatically bowed and then gestured in the general direction of the kitchen. "After you M'lady." He said in his best posh British accent. Zeyn found the fact that he was talking to an actual snake woman mildly hilarious. It was almost too much for his mind to handle. However the variety of party guests and their varied shapes and sizes tended to remind Zeyn that there was always something stranger out there.

The atmosphere was almost infectious. The energy, happiness and general carefree attitude had Zeyn on a high. It was a complete turn around from the stuffy life as the son of a prominent political figure. Everyone needed time to relax, and for the first time in his life, Zeyn was experiencing said relaxation.

He let out a contented sigh as he tied his now disheveled hair back. As nice and shiny as it was, it was annoying to care for. Zeyn glanced around the immediate area and for a moment, he swore he heard someone shout in excitement. Then again, there were a lot of people, many of which were being loud so he simply shrugged off the feeling.

Kendi gave a soft giggle as Zeyn called her 'M'lady' and bowing to her. Leaning forward she whispered to him. "Be careful, I might just like seeing you bowing over my presence..." Kendi wasn't able to keep a straight face however and started a giggling fit. She had a hard time staying serious. "Come on let's get some food!" She punched one hand directly in the air as she began to slither over towards the food table again. As they passed the pool someone cannon balled into it causing a large splash towards her and Zeyn. Not being to worried Kendi just moved the water away from her and Zeyn easily enough but she squeaked and blushed as someone accidentally brushed up against her tail and there was a small commotion behind her. Curling her tail a little so that part of it wasn't near whoever tripped her she called out. "Sorry!" There wasn't a response but she shrugged and continued moving with a smile... though she still blushed over the short brushing of her tail.

When Kendi turned back to look at Zeyn she saw that he was tying his hair back. Thinking about her own hair she looked around and didn't see anything to tie it back with. Pouting she leaned down to look at Zeyn. "You wouldn't happen to have a spare would you? I don't keep any on me... seeing as how my outfit doesn't really come with pockets. And I want to get my hair out of my face for a little." She motioned to the long pink hair she had that was currently doing it's best to get in her face at that moment even as she tried to brush most of it back over her ears and down her back. The outfit she was talking about however was indeed her normal outfit, a soft light blue Arabic looking belly dancer's outfit. It truly didn't have any pockets.

"Really..." it surprised Amélie to hear he'd been on his own. Truthfully, she wasn't entirely inclined to believe him, but even if he was lying it would mean he could tell a story she would like to hear. Thus Amélie smiled.

As Michael spoke, Amélie slowly gravitated to one edge of the room, expecting him to follow. She had already taken a quick look at the layout of the mansion, thus Amélie had a precise idea where she wanted to go if things went to plan. And things were going very well indeed.

"Necromancy... I've dabbled in it myself, through some Divination. There's some overlap in them, when it comes to communicating with the departed..." Amélie paused for a moment, and her smile widened just a hair. He actually got her to open up. Beginner's luck, certainly, but now he could tell she adored speaking about magic.

"Ironically I'm quite fond of the scientific part of astronomy - the physics of the stars, the chemistry of planets - but when it comes to magic, it also plays a part, yes. I even do fortune-telling as a part-time job."

"Perhaps... you'd like a demonstration?" Amélie leaned in towards Michael, her voice lowering to a different pitch from the crowd.
