In truth, admitting he wasn't a drinker was a double-edged sword. He was honest, but Amélie wasn't the biggest proponent of honesty. It also suggested he really was a bit young, though it was not yet a deal-breaker. Ultimately, Amélie smiled and feigned appreciation of the boy's honesty.
"It must be quite a journey to come here. First time living away from parents?" Amélie asked. A sheltered boy could explain quite a bit. "It was my first time as well, though it's been a few years."
She had one more question for the boy, before she decided on what to do with him. "So you're in school... at Starlight Academy? Me too. What do you study?" Even if he was still in grade school, she'd like to hear a more interesting answer.
"I study astronomy myself. But I study and do magic on the side," Amélie started to give the boy a better idea of what she was looking for.
