Kim In Suk

When her feet hit something that actually felt like solid ground instead of just another step, In Suk was absolutely elated. She spread her feet around just to make sure but this no false assurance. She thought she felt the ground and, well, it really was. Still, she pushed herself up onto her feet cautiously and squinted at her phone lying a few feet away in the darkness. The screen had darkened a little, the tell-tale sign that if she didn't pick it up soon, it was going to dim out and leave them fumbling around. She snatched it up quickly, after making sure yet again that she wasn't going to stumble. It was funny how all it took was a little darkness and an unfamiliar place to get paranoia mills going.

In Suk huffed in relief once the phone was back in her hand, turning up the brightness again with a touch. Fontaine was still behind her and In Suk anxiously gave her a look over, throwing the light around like a scanner over the other girl's body. She looked okay, if not as worried as In Suk felt.

Just how far down did we go? She pointed the light all the way up the staircase. The answer was 'a long way' but maybe not as long as the eternities that In Suk had felt their climb had taken.
