Ava spun Swallowtail one more time, and looked at the butterflues circling them with a small grin. She had really made the kid's day, huh. Though when the kid asked when she wanted to do it Ava frowned a bit in thought. Yeah, there was that. Ava couldn't exactly tell hwr number or anything to a kid. Ava was confident she'd be able to track the kid down though, by scent and Swallowtail had a very distinct look, Ava could tell even with the mask they had on.
"You know what? I'll find you, my prince, whenever you're cool with it. I've got sharp eyes and nose."
Ava smiled, the kid's dancing was getting a bit sloppy. Not that she could judge.
"Then we can fight big, muscular orcs with huge fangs and battle axes."

He chuckled at her joke, but cut back quickly with a quip of his own. "You say that like I shouldn't be scared of you." He smirked back at her, it was an interesting idea though. Thinking about it Halloween people dressed up so they were already ready, and also many of the denizens of the island wear already things that humans would dress up as. They both didn't know what was under the others mask, who each other really were.Maybe he should of been scared, it was a risk yet a mystery. He leaned in closer. "We can go as soon as you grown tired of dancing." He whispered in her ear. "Sound good?" He asked to end.

Ebviony knew that wasn't a very realistic answer for Princess Smolder to give. How could they find each other without some form of contact information? But Ebviony refused to think further. This was a magically answer full of mystery, and that fit the fantasy world they wanted.

"I'll try to find you too. My little butterflies are good for finding stuff." The butterflies around the pair fluttered happily at that.

"And yes! Big muscular orcs. And, uhhh... centaurs! With bows and arrows. I think I'd use a bow and arrow in a fight. It's very elegant, like me!"

For the most part, she didn’t care what people thought of her. They could call her a bitch or rude, as long as weakness was something that wasn’t shown. She had felt weak before and it was something she never wanted to experience again. There were many on the island who were more intimidating than her but she would still stand strong against them. A small smile was all the reply that was given.

Then he leant in closer. Too close. Dancing near each other was one thing that she was just about alright with but now her personal space was being invaded more than she liked. Not everyone is a threat, she reminded herself again. “I’ve never been a fan of dancing,” she said, moving off towards the exit. There was no hint that she felt uncomfortable. After all, acting tough was what she was good at. After a couple of feet, she turned back and gestured with her head. “You coming?”

Robert's part of the music died down and a different song began. One that didn't need him on his cello. It was time for a break. He stood up and glided effortlessly between the crowds. If he had to sit for any longer he'd have put his bow down the throat of that hack clarinet player three seats down. Maybe then he'd stop missing his notes. Robert grinned just a bit at that thought, chewing gently on his lip to hide the gesture.

He stopped and grabbed a glass of water, checking his pocket watch. It was a custom job that kept time on the phases of the moon as well. The new moon was only a week out and he was starting to feel it. Everyone here smelled delicious.

Looking around, he tried to see if there was anyone he could speak to before he had to get back to his seat. Because otherwise this break was going to be excruciating.

He smiled and shrugged when his dance partner explained that they didn't exactly like dancing and instead broke away from him. Turning back to him to ask if hmwas going to follow. He did, wonderig why exactly the women had decided to ask him after his own subtle hint towards it earlier. Maybe she felt like she had too play the part at the party. Or why she had coe to the event at all if she was going to take the first oppotunity to escape that his offer had given her.

"You sure it's the dislike of dancing and not a desire to spend a couple hours like reliving childhood." He said as he caught up to her, his tone playful and teasing as they move to leave.

Ireneus was running extra late. He'd managed to secure an earlier shift so he'd have his evening free to attend the Ball but then he'd had to stay late dealing with a call and piles of paperwork. There was only so fast he could fly back from the hospital to his condo to get changed afterwards.

He'd dressed up in a very nice black tuxedo with gold designs and trim on it. That, along with his gold and black mask he was wearing, had been part of his rotation of costumes for a few years now. He didn't really care to keep his identity hidden, but dressing the part for the Ball was half the fun.

Asku had reluctantly agreed to spend a few hours away from him so he wasn't perched on his shoulder as Irene entered the ballroom and moved to get a drink as he surveyed the room. It was quite a busy evening. Clearly the event had been going well so far. Perhaps he could still manage to get a dance in or at least talk to someone to blow off some steam before it was time to call it a night.

Huilu saw her cousin enter the dance floor with her date, and she chuckled at the sight. It was strange to see this particular cousin at an event like this, strange but pleasant. Huilu felt like a proud little sister. She waved at her cousin from the spot she had secured at the edge of the ballroom. The event seemed to be quite the success, so many people were flowing in. Huilu felt her throat was quite dry and started moving towards the table with drinks, it was slightly less crowded than before and she didn't need to push anyone to get there.

Huilu got a drink, and sipped it while looking at the dance floor. Dancing had been fun, she hadn't done it in a while, and Huilu wanted to do it again. She looked around, looking at the crowd, and tried to find a suitable person to ask to dance. She did spot someone, a gentleman in a black suit with gold trims and mask in the same colours. Huilu smiled and stepped over to him, she was still holding her own drink and it seemed he was there to get a drink too.
"Excuse me, but could you do me the honour of dancing with me? After these drinks, naturally."
Huilu said politely and with a friendly smile.

Irene's golden-blonde hair matched the trim on his outfit quite well. It wasn't exactly an accident though, as he'd had plenty of time to develop certain habits for flashy events such as these. Normally he would have preferred more oranges and red with his golds rather than the black but it was Samhain and black fit rather well with the decor and the theme.

As he stood there with his drink a woman in a beautiful flowing blue dress and gold and blue mask approached. It looked like she had decided to match her hair color with her outfit as well, seeing as it was a rich blue as well. He lowered his drink and smiled back at her. "Of course. I wouldn't dream of insulting your honor and denying you a dance," he replied as he gave a small bow to accentuate his words. His accent had long ago mixed too many times to be distinguished as being from anywhere in particular but whatever it ended up as, there was a hint of it.

"After all, why come to a Ball at all if you don't plan to dance with wonderfully dressed women? Or men either for that matter," he chuckled as he brought his glass up to take another sip. He was in a great mood despite having been tied up at work. The balls were always fun, and dancing.... well that was why he was there in the first place. Of course having been alive when the various dances on display that night had been invented meant he was rather well prepared for it too. If only he had kept some of the authentic attire over the years. Now that would have made for an excellent costume for the night. Shame.

The gentleman Huilu had decided to ask a dance from seemed very polite, and to his bow she curtsied a bit. Huilu admired his outfit and how all its components matched well together and had a good balance. Huilu's smiled widened slightly, this night was truly inspiring, it was wonderful.
"Rejection is but a part if lufe, but my honour and I are very grateful for your consideration."
Huilu answered with a chuckle. She had been denied of dances few times during this evening, her honour was resilient enough not to take a hit from it.

"You speak the truth, although I think this event is worth coming to just for the aesthetic, the atmosphere, the people. It's all beautiful."
Huilu looked around a bit before smiling at the man again. Huilu drank the last sip of her drink and set it on the table.
"Whenever you are ready."
Huilu said to the man with a patient smile on her face, waiting for him to finish his drink as well.
