Aswan, very busy trying to remember how volleyball worked, nodded distractedly. She didn't remember much, at the moment - she had a vague idea. Something about her sixth-period physical education class back when she was alive. Serving and spiking were nearly forgotten - she'd remembered more about scorekeeping. Apparently, the guy who didn't know much about volleyball was doing very well, and so Aswan tried to match his posture, his motion. She logged it into her memory - throw the ball up, tap it over the net. Hopefully it would land in the water. "You seem to know a lot, for never playing it before," she remarked, before waiting for the ball to come back into their court, fidgeting with a strand of hair that just would NOT stay put.

Adelyn was just the type of young girl to go on a romantic cruise to go looking for dolphins and whales.

She came running up the steps from her room to the outside, where she planned to spent most of her time despite all of the different things going on within the ship. She wore a little navy blue bikini with a little skirt on the bottom decorated with little rhinestones on it meant to look like stars. She also wore a little crescent moon clip in her silver hair and carried a little purse also decorated with a moon and stars with her.

She considered pulling out her phone to text her friend Stefan, but once she stepped outside she quickly caught his scent. No need to call when he was that close by! She ran over to the chair where he was reclining.

“Hiiii Stefan!!” She said cheerfully as she leaned over him.

Storm was around too, insisting she really should keep an eye on Adelyn even if being on a romantic cruise for teenagers as a 30 year old was kind of…awkward and made her feel horribly out of place. But it’s not like she was the only adult around, really. And the break from routine wasn’t so bad. She would have had no interest in the regular cruise for adults, with speed dating and all that, but it was kind of nice to go out to sea. It was her first time. There was something calming in the fresh air and just watching the water roll around them.

Storm remained on an upper deck above where Adelyn was moving about. She wanted to keep an eye on her, while also allowing some amount of freedom. Technically, she had strong enough hearing that she could have listened in on Adelyn and Stefan if she wanted to, but she tried to resist being nosy—pushing her ears back against her head and instead focusing on the sounds of the ocean. The water crashing against the ship. The faint cawing of seagulls somewhere in the distance.

It was a time to try and relax a bit. Something she rarely ever did.

It was Lyn the girl he had a crush on right there looming over him, he put his book down beside his small bag that he had brought with him so he could better see her. She looked super cute kinda like the night sky with all those little stones and the hair clip completed the look, he had a big smile on his face as he began to speak. "Lyn! Its so good to see you, you look stunning might i add. I'm so glad you're here i was hoping to hang out with ya, considering i haven't seen anyone i know here so far. Also how are you enjoying the cruise so far? This place is decked out they got food and everything, the pool is pretty nice too" he said happily.

Stefan had never been on a cruise before so this was all new to him and it was awesome. He had never felt so relaxed before in his life and with Lyn being there that made it all the much better for him. Not just because he liked her so much but because she was a friend and one thing Stefan hated it was being alone or doing things alone.

Nova

"Yeah, it-'s nice to meet you too," she said, and actually meant it. Roland had appeared to be a decent person upon first impression, and then a horrible person later on, and now she was just... Confused. She liked that she was now in better company, but hated that he was flirting with another girl when he had invited her on the cruise. So to counteract this, she decided she would try and get closer to Will.

As Roland returned the ball over the net, it came hard and fast towards her. Running to the ball, she slapped it into the air, but it would not make it over the net. "Will! Quick!" she called to him, the ball reaching its climax directly I between them. Nova herself was still recovering from the shot.

If Will managed to reach the ball, the rally would stay alive, but if he missed it, the others would win. There was no time for idle talk anymore, and Nova's competitive streak kicked in. She wanted to beat Roland, probably more than he wanted to beat her, in her opinion. If the two of them managed to do well, it would prove to him that she did not need him on the cruise. And maybe if she herself did well, Will would be more inclined to stick around.

"This looks like a good place to hang out," Lorencia said, happily throwing herself onto an empty couch, patting the cushion beside her to invite the guy she dragged out of the speed dating room a few minutes ago. He seemed like a nice guy with the calm attitude she had learned to admire.

She wasn't used to this kind of social interaction. Around a group of friends or close classmates, she was fine, but Victor was a complete stranger to her. She didn't know much aside from the things he had written down on the info card, and that he was in the same school as her, but that was the point of speed dating, wasn't it? To get to know a complete stranger within a few hours? She was excited.

But... "So... how does a date go?"

Two minutes into speed dating, and he was pulled out by the girl to the lounge. She was quite excitable, jumping onto a couch like it was a life raft. Still, why him, there were plenty of other guys in there too. "I guess so, not really sure." He said as he sat down next to her.

His heart was thumping, he was never this close to a girl before. How should he act? When she asked about Date, he internally exploded, HE WAS ON A DATE!!

Despite this, he remained calm and looked it up on his phone. Three clicks later, he showed her the page. "I think this is how its meant to go?"

When he showed her something that looked like a guide, she couldn't help but chuckle. "You're just like my cousin! Looking at manuals and stuff," she said before taking a serious look at the phone, she only read the first few lines of every point before scrolling to the next, but she quickly lost interest when it just went on and on. "Okay, I guess we'll start at part one?"

She scrolled back to the first point and read it again. "Fun and companionship, or a partner? Which one are you looking for?" she asked, blinking. "Hm... that's actually a difficult question..." She introspected for a moment.

She was laughing, apparently, that was a good thing. The Cousin appeared to be someone she was close to, maybe the guy she walked in with.

"I think the actual Date starts at number 5 with small talk." He said, looking at the site. "But I'm not sure what I would answer the first one with either."

Weird, he thought. They were having a date over how to have a date.

"Then let's just skip that one," she said, all too happy in avoiding an existential crisis because of too much introspection. So small talk it was. But what were they going to talk about? They already talked about what they liked, and the weather was a boring subject... Wow, she has never been out of things to talk about... Maybe because the situation was so new to her? "So, which grade are you in?"

He breathed a sigh of relief. Too much soul-searching for him to handle. Now it was small talk.... simple hopefully. Surprisingly enough, Lorencia was quiet, just asking his year. "I'm a 12th grader. How about yourself?"
