Age: 12
Birthday: March 20
Gender: Female
Category: Student
Class: Middle School
Grade: 7th Grade
College Major: N/A

Appearance Description:
Standing at 5’4” (~163cm) and 131 lbs (59kg) Lidiya is a somewhat gangly tall girl for her age. But despite that awkward gangliness, Lidiya tries to hold herself up with poise and composure at all times. (Though the sudden growth spurts she’s been through means that occasionally she misjudges and walks straight into things.) She walks with the sort of ‘head up, back straight’ posture you’d expect on a soldier twice her age.

And you might mistake her for a lady twice her age too, with the stern look in her eyes and composed expression she always has. Indeed, often her childishly large brown doe eyes (they don’t call it cow-eyed for nothing) are offset by her stern brows and generally flat expression. Hardly ever does makeup grace her hazelnut colored complexion and luckily she’s avoided the brunt of puberty’s gift of acne (something she credits fully towards a healthy balanced diet).

Puberty is in the process of gifting her a rather hefty bust as she sports a C-cup at the moment (something she has mixed feelings about. Mostly negative.). Her thin silver blond hair left free hangs slightly past the bottom of her shoulder blades, but more often it is strictly contained in an immaculate chignon (or possibly braided in a single plait on a busier or god forbid lazier day). On the top of her head, peeking out from her hair are the beginning nubs of her horns. They itch awfully and have yet to reach an inch in height, (and Lidiya secretly wishes for the 2 ft high horns her father sports). Fortunately for her, the horns are small enough to be hidden under caps or certain hairstyles. Her ears seem to be an odd mix between an elf and a cow’s ear. Her left ear is pierced near the end and generally adorned with a brass ring.

Lidiya’s wardrobe also lends to the illusion of being older. A lot of the pieces look like they should belong in a closet of a woman in her twenties. She has a preference for ‘elegant’ styles and her outfits generally consist of below knee to ankle length a-line skirts and a stylish blouse. It also helps that long skirts hide her knee length tail. She has a secret love of fluffy woolen clothing, but generally does not wear any opting for more ‘flowy’ and ‘fluttering’ pieces instead. Most of her clothes and personal items are colored in neutral or forest tones. She is constantly carrying around a first aid kit and is always up to help someone out when hurt.

Personality Description:

Spend an hour with Lidiya and you’ll come out thinking ‘Wow, what a mature and composed child’. It’s true, Lidiya is very polite and composed in a way that gives off the aura of a mature adult twice her age. She’s not very boisterous or outgoing and tends to keep to herself. Not that she doesn’t play well with others, though there’s a distinctive lack of the sort of immaturity and light-hearted joking from her that you’d expect of a pre-teen. Growing up with enhanced strength means sometimes even the smallest mistakes can screw up majorly if you accidently put in too much pressure. And that means Lidiya needs to be very careful with how she handles anything and everything. Therefore she tends to keep away from things in the fear of breaking them.

A rule-follower to the bone, Lidiya seems like the picture perfect law-abiding citizen who strictly follows all the rules and sternly rebukes those who don’t. She holds herself with poise and tends to act in an oldest-sister fashion. Sometimes people feel that she comes off too cold or dull with how straight-laced she is.

Secretly Lidiya isn’t quite as put-together and composed as she seems. The fear of hurting or breaking things with her strength does constantly loom over her. And growing up in the human world where everything is not quite built up to the level to handle a minotaur-half breed has only enhanced that fear. In addition, the new changes of puberty are confusing for all children growing up. Unfortunately for her, the newest growth spurt has her looking a bit too mature for her age and people are treating her as such. And maybe she was pretty composed before but she’s still just a little 12 year old not ready to handle all of this and she’s scared.

In other news, Lidiya’s biggest dream is to become a proficient doctor for all races. She’s always ready to help an injured being and is constantly carrying around (a rather large) first aid kit. Talking to her about medicine is one way to trigger a long conversation, and possible lecture on healthy habits. She spends a lot of time practicing the herbal remedies her mother wrote down for her or researching how to use her healing magic. In her free time, you might be able to find her out in the forest collecting herbs or gardening. On rare occasions, usually when she’s particularly stressed, you might stumble upon her practicing the harp out in the forest (or in the middle of a herd of cows).

Powers:
Child of the Bulls:
Super Strength:
Other than the obvious physical traits, being half-minotaur brings with the immense strength and power. Lidiya hasn’t even grown into her full power yet, but she could probably lift a full grown cow, maybe a cow and four goats on a good day. Needless to say, this puts considerable damage behind any punches she might throw. It also means she needs to be very, very careful about how she handles everything.
Berserker Mode:
In the case of extreme emotion, generally panic or anger, Lidiya runs the risk of slipping into what has been termed ‘Berserker Mode’. Consider this as a super-enhanced blind panic version of ‘fight or flight’ adrenaline rush. Except just fight, no flight. If you’ve ever seen a bullfight you’ve seen the massive damage an enraged bull will fly into. Now imagine that in a more human form with the ability to use their hands to throw, punch, or otherwise cause harm. And while Lidiya can regularly pick up at least 1000lbs, Berserker Mode functions as an adrenaline boost meaning, she could probably pick up a small car and chuck it at you. Considering this is somewhat of a ‘mindless’ rage, she’ll tend to focus in on the triggering object or being but is just as likely to switch to any moving object that catches her attention. This means she’s just as likely to attack friends as she is the enemy.
Needless to say, Lidiya actively tries to avoid this outcome and keeps tight restraints on herself. Unfortunately, even she is not immune to actually feeling emotions and frankly puberty means it’s even harder.

On the bright side, as they say ‘Music has charms to soothe a savage beast’ and Lidiya can be snapped out of her rage with song. Effects might vary depending on the type of song and extent of her anger/panic. If she’s only beginning to be annoyed or slightly startled a short cell phone ringtone or briefly sung chorus may be enough to ground her. If you’ve seriously pissed her off or she’s scared out of her wits perhaps a long serenade might work better.

Child of the Willows (Salix alba)
Minor Healing:
This is the power that Lidiya prides herself on the most. Her minor level healing skills aren’t really that powerful actually. They consist more of subtle effects like: being able to lower fevers, pain relief, headache relief, etc. Basically she’s a living aspirin. If fully honed, her skill set would be something like this: [Passive = Just her presence is enough for some effect; Active = Need actual successful application of magic by her]
  • (Unlocked) [Active] Analgesic [Basic Pain Relief]
  • (Dormant) [Active] Anti-Inflammatory
  • (Unlocked) [Passive/Active] Headache Relief
  • (Unlocked) [Passive/Active] Anti-Pyretic [Fever Relief]
  • (Dormant) [Passive/Active] Heartattack and Stroke Prevention/Curing (oddly specific but hey)
  • (Dormant) [Passive] Cancer Prevention (Planning on being a life-long smoker? Here’s your cure.)
Her aspirin skills aren’t the greatest yet, as she’s still young and growing but she’ll get there. She’s sorta gotten the basics of headache relief down, she can completely relieve someone of a minor headache and maybe lessen the pain of a major headache. If you’re close around her (within about 5-6 ft) you’re unlikely to get a headache. Most of her other skills are still in need of work though. She can probably help a bit with lowering a fever, but is just as likely to end up with a fever herself and causing no change in temperature to the patient. The skill she’s most intent on advancing is the ability of pain relief. As of yet, she could probably help someone relieve the pain of minor injuries like scrapes and light burns and that’s about it. Trying to work with major injuries risks the rebounding of some of the pain onto herself. Her Anti-Inflammatory, Heartattack, and Cancer skills have not been unlocked at the moment and probably will not arise until she is several years older and has more magical energy.

Supernatural Green Thumb:
As a part-dryad, she does have some effects on plant growth though most of it is minor. She can’t do anything like control plants, revive dead plants, or immediate plant growth. This is more of a passive species effect where she’s just really good at growing high-quality plants. Like your neighbor who everyone says has a ‘green thumb’. Except Lidiya’s green thumb is supernaturally better than a normal human’s. Plants she tends to or are around a lot tend to grow faster, better, stronger, harder (nah. Kidding about that last one.). Of course they still take a somewhat regular amount of time to grow and such. This effect is especially useful for growing medicinal herbs because it means her remedies tend to work better than if another person mixed up the same treatment.

Biography:

Back twelve years ago in Greece, an adorable little blonde baby girl was born to the loving couple, Basilio & Vivillion Savakis. Vivillion happens to be a dryad of the Salix alba variety while Basilio was a minotaur himself. And so Lidiya Savakis came out as a hybrid minotaur-dryad though genetics heavily favored her father. Cute little Lidiya inherited her father’s broad nose, deep, brown eyes, bovine horns and tail, and immense super-strength. From her mother, she obtained her thin silvery-blonde hair, slender arms and legs, minor healing powers, and green thumb.

After the exertion of birth, (and of a half-minotaur baby, no less!), Vivillion was notably drained of strength and could not manage the efforts of maintaining a non-tethered human form. Understandably, she returned to her forest where she would spend the next twenty or so years resting within the trees regaining the strength for her to use a non-tethered human form again. Basilio and Lidiya spent the first five years of Lidiya’s life living in a quaint house near Vivillion’s forest so Lidiya could spend as much time with her mother, who could not leave the bounds of the forest, as possible.

During this time, Lidiya was beginning to grow into her powers which meant a child with mega-strength running around in the forest. Additionally as Lidiya would soon be sent off to a human elementary school, it was imperative to teach her restraint and control of at least her strength. The perils of accidentally wielding too much strength have been ingrained into her since birth and she has caused minimal damage in her early youth; barring one traumatizing incident at age 3 where Lidiya, in her childish excitement, accidently squeezed a rabbit too hard and killed it. The fear of hurting others with her power was (and still is) one of the larger factors in how Lidiya behaves and the personality she developed.

Close to her sixth birthday, Basilio needed to move to Italy for his job as a carpenter and so he and Lidiya packed up and moved into his older brother’s manor in Italy. Of course, frequent weekend trips were made back to Greece to visit Vivillion and their house in Greece was still under their ownership. As such, for the majority of her life, Lidiya has been mostly taken care of by her father and she takes after her father the most.

Much of her elementary school years were uneventful excusing the occasional mishap where Lidiya accidentally dislocated another child’s arm while playing or broke a desk when angry or nervous. Fortunately all of these accidents could be explained away as children being children and roughhousing or faulty equipment.

Around age 10, along with normal human puberty developments, Lidiya’s horns began growing in and Basilio discussed with her future plans to enroll Lidiya in a school for magical beings perhaps once she was of high school age (at which point the horns would likely be unable to be hidden under hats anymore. [Magical devices to hide the appearance of horns or tails are available but not recommended for use with growing children because it might impair the growth of their horns and powers.]) Unfortunately at age 11, The Incident happened.

Lidiya had experienced her first major growth spurt near the beginning of age 10 and had shot up several inches and developed at least a B-cup size. By age 11, Lidiya was routinely being mistaken for a teenager of at least 16 years in age due to her height and body shape. Her personality had always been composed and dignified which only helped with the illusion of being older.

Late September the year Lidiya turned 11, Lidiya had been walking home after classes with her best friend, the only other girl who happened to be close to her height at 5’3”. On the way home, a sport car rolled up next to the two girls and the occupants, three rather unsavory males, proceeded to catcall and proposition the two girls. Understandably unnerved, the two girls didn’t respond and tried to continue on their way walking considerably quicker. Unfortunately for them, the men proceeded to follow them in the car shouting out lewder comments as the street they were on was quite devoid of other people. At this point, Lidiya passed straight from nervous into a panicked rage. Slipping into Berserker Mode, Lidiya dropped her bag, turned to face the car, and proceed to charge straight at the vehicle, much to the delight and wolf-whistles of the men. Reaching the shiny red convertible, Lidiya proceeded to flip the car, passengers included, into the the side of the building across the street, much to the horror and terror of the men. She would have gone on to pick up the mangled vehicle and smash it over the heads of the unconscious men, if not for the appearance of her father who bodily restraint her and took her away to calm down. Luckily, the remaining heap of twisted metal and knocked-out men was easily sold to reporters as an unfortunate car crash caused by speeding on small streets.

This incident prompted Basilio to move the date of Lidiya’s enrollment into a magical school to much sooner. During his, and Lidiya’s, search for a school to enroll into, they came across Starlight Academy and Manta Carlos. And so, after finalizing the paperwork and spending winter break with her family in Greece, Lidiya Savakis boarded the boat to Manta Carlos.

Additional Information:

  • She’s really bad with directions and gets lost really easily especially inside buildings or in cities
    • Oddly enough this doesn’t affect her in forests
  • When she hits about 16-17 small willow leaves will start growing interspersed in her hair
  • She needs lots of water and exposure to sunlight otherwise she gets very tired and easily annoyed
    • Additionally regular exposure to nature and plant life helps ground her (the longer she goes without [generally starting at 5+days] the more antsy she gets).
