"I think we prefer to be called mages," Himiko said thoughtfully. "Only some of the westerners call themselves witches these days. It's kind of a weird term. We only use it with specific magic stuff." She shook her head at the next question. "I didn't grow up here, though, nah. There's other magical communities out there."

"But wow, a normal human!" she marveled. "I haven't seen anybody normal on the island in like - ever!" Well, nobody she knew the name of anyways. "This was pretty surprising then, huh?"

"Yeah, really surprising. Except we're not normal anymore... Maybe that could be a clue. Like if you do find more normal kids here, they might be other Guardians and that's why they're here."

Kasper smiled, "It would sure be nice to meet other people like me... I guess you don't know why this is happening eiter. And to think I always thought being a magical girl, er boy, would be fun - cause of the powers, not the outfits." He coughed and blushed slightly brown, suddenly conscious of what he was wearing.

"You really never met anybody normal here? I guess that makes sense... Are your powers when you're not like this better do you think? Like is being a Guardian still different? "

Wow, he sure was a thinky sort of person. Himiko hadn't really given any thought to the situation beyond cool, time to fight evil! Although, now that she thought about it, the clothes were pretty cool. She just wished that her theme was more colorful and shiny.

"Ehhhhhh," Himiko said. "To be honest, I like my regular self better. I just. Don't know how to do anything like this." She waved her hands as she spoke. Abruptly, a flare of magic flashed between her palms. A moment later, it took form as a large, scythe.

Himiko blinked at the scythe, now held above her head. "Well, that's weird."

Kasper also blinked when the scythe appeared in Himiko's hands, stepping back a bit in surprise. "Ah! That's a big weapon!" It was definitely more dangerous looking than his oversized rolling pin. Though getting whacked with either would probably hurt and was not something he wanted to try.

"I wouldn't want to get hit with that." He laughed weakly. Why did either of them have weapons - he didn't want to think too much about it. "I don't know how to do much either. I just want to make it through without, you know, getting hurt."

She stared at the scythe for a moment before looking back at the other guardian. "I could totally do this with my normal powers, too," Himiko said after a thought. "Maybe. I could probably make a scythe, I think." She trailed off a little, muttering to herself as she thought of things that she could totally do with her powers but had never thought of until that point.

"I don't want to get hurt but people get hurt all the time," Himiko said slowly, thinking of that one incident with the T-rex at the school. She still didn't know why it had happened; it seemed completely senseless but maybe it had something to do with the weird magical illness before that. "I guess now there's always the chance that I might be hurt. It's bad but I'd rather hurt people who would hurt other people so they can't do that."

"Yeah people get hurt but..." He trailed off too. He'd never really suffered more than a little bullying, and who hadn't? There were worst things... but that was a weapon. For killing. He felt a little faint, and tried not to gag in front of this girl.

"What if they aren't even bad though? If we have to... y'know fight each other just for not doing enough, who's to say they're bad. That-" Kasper hesitated, not really sure what the weapon actually was. He didn't read a lot of fantasy or horror, not anything that would talk about scythes. "That thing looks sharp, dangerous. Unless you think, maybe we just have to scare people into being good?" He sighed. "Why would whoever started this pick kids?"

She frowned. "Well, if they weren't bad, we wouldn't have these Sense-The-Bad-Guys powers, right?" she reasoned. Himiko sure did like to give other people credit. "And I don't really know how to use this, I think. Except, wait." She thought for a moment, realizing that she knew exactly what she was supposed to do with it. It was pretty in a way. But also, yeah. Dangerous.

"I mean, maybe that's what we're supposed to do?" Himiko asked hopefully. "Scare the little baddies away and um, um, do something with the real baddies, I guess."
