Hello everyone! I'm Derp Detective. I popped into the cbox a couple of times prior my joining, and I appreciate all the warm welcomes and help that I received from members each time. I'm one of the many wonderful oddballs of our beautiful earth. I'm 19 and doing online university studies. I've been RP'ing since I was 13 maybe 14 and I want to be a writer. I'm from Western Australia in... well... Australia. I love my country and I love travelling it. I have moved around a lot growing up, but not as much as some people, so I have had the pleasure of travelling my home country several times. I like reading and gaming and dragons are my favourite mythological creatures. I have a pet dog named Chloe who I call the food bandit because she's only interested in food. Or love, but mostly food. She's a King Charles Cavalier Spaniel crossed with a Poodle. I love the medieval period, Greek Mythology and Roman History. I have over a hundred characters, and I have over 30 projects in the works. I have many different sides to my personality and sometimes it confuses people. For example I trust people too easily, yet I take time to trust people. I'm genuinely happy, but it covers more than just that. And I have such a strong affinity with my characters that sometimes I talk to them as if they were with me. And oddly enough, I get advice back, just in a way that no one understands.
I have many habits that will help to understand me, such as tilting my head when I'm confused or thinking, or processing information, you can usually tell which is which. I stutter or go oddly silent when I'm nervous, uncomfortable or in a semi-okay mood (sometimes I might just be busy replying and doing things, but I'll usually say if this is the case). I use caps and shout when I'm excited (or I'll repeat someone's name over and over), I try not to spam, but sometimes it happens accidentally, either due to train of thought or excitement. I usually use emojis too, which is a good way to tell what mood I'm in. "xD" usually marks a joke, me laughing, or something amusing, "^^" Is me being happy and chill, "c:" is me being thankful, is my "it's okay" emoji and "^^;" is me derping or understanding something after a long conversation of me being confused (in other words it's my apologetic emoji). I also respond with "Oh" when I'm not sure how to feel about something, usually meant in a light-hearted manner and is not really used as the dawning of understanding something such is the case with other people.
Hopefully we can all get along.
Sincerely,
Your Neighbourhood Aussie Oddball,
Derp Detective
