Lucianne Lovejoy

"Oh sure!" She peered curiously at him. "What's your phone number? Or, um, email, I guess. I'm better with answering those because I'm not always with my phone but I'm nearly always with my laptop. I'd really like to see what you get up to sometime. Maybe it'll help?"

She thought for a moment and then backtracked. "No, I'm sure it'll help," Lucianne said firmly. "Knowledge is always a good thing."

Knowledge was always a good thing. That was something that Giltenn and Jude both agreed on, and Jude did them one better, retrieving a small piece of paper. It had his phone number on it, but he had to pull out a pen, scribbling down his email before holding it out for her.

"All the good emails were taken," he complained. He'd had to go with angelo.jude.genovese, since everything else was taken. How many Genovese's were there in the world? Too many, apparently.

Lucianne Lovejoy

She smiled at him brightly. "I know, right? I had to go with lollovejoy because somebody already had my name, too! And initials. And nickname." Lucianne looked at his information quickly, moving it into her phone. She texted his number once, just to make sure she got it right, and sent another message with her email on it.

"Okay! So both of those are me! If you have any questions about anything, let me know, okay? I like being useful and since I'm yours now, that means I have to be extra useful to you!"

There was something about the way she said it that made Jude pause, looking her over quickly with a look of what was without a doubt scrutiny.

"You don't have to be useful to me. I want to be... friends, I guess. It's not like you're my servant or anything."

She seemed... uncertain? Like she genuinely wasn't sure what to say.

"It's good to keep busy," Jude said, sounding somewhat uncertain himself, "and it's nice to help people, but... you should have your own happiness too."

Lucianne Lovejoy

"But, I'm happy when others are happy," she trailed off. What did make her happy anyways? What things did she genuinely like for the feelings that they gave her in return. "I guess, it makes me happy to make things with my own hands. It's nice being able to create something that wasn't there before, that might exist after I am gone. Or not gone, in this case."

"That's good, then," Jude said, happy there was at least something. "Making things can be... enlightening? I'm not sure that's really the right word. I've started drawing, and that's something new for me. I'm not used to being creative."

"It's fine," Jude said. "So, why don't we meet up on like... Friday? We can go to the range, and I'll walk you through things." He felt a bit offput by the conversation, but he supposed it was probably just growing pains. Getting used to things. Getting used to Lucianne, more than anything else.
