![]() Cecily is, in a word, delicate. She looks like a doll, modeled to be eye-pleasing and fair. Her soft hair is long, naturally wavy, and such a pale blonde it passes as white. Her eyes are large, expressive, and an unnatural blue. Her cheeks are always highlighted in red, and her lips are that perfect plump shape. Her nose is small and button-like. Every feature she has is fragile, soft, and above all else, appealing. She walks and sits abnormally straight, made more irregular by long, silent, limber steps. Her torso and legs seem longer than the rest of her body; paired with the way she carries herself and she comes off as a ballerina. Cecily has no muscle mass or fat. She is extremely lightweight and easily lifted by anyone. Her skin has no pores. Instead, it appears and has the feel of solid porcelain. Her skin is neither warm nor cold on its own, but instead takes on the temperature of the room she is in. Cecily's expression always falls in approachable and cute. She is almost never scowling or sulking. While she does not directly smile, there is something about her that suggests an affable nature. Her voice is silvery, and always has a high ring to it, like a bell. Her age is indiscernible by appearance alone; it would be accurate to say she looked anywhere from fourteen to twenty. She enjoys light, and summer styled clothing. Loose dresses or oversized pink or white shirts with belts and long skirts are Cecily's favorite type of clothing. She doesn't like any form of shoes beyond sandals and flats. Because Cecily doesn't understand the concept of nudity, she has the tendency to wear shirts with long v-necks that travel to the valley of her underdeveloped breasts. “What am I living for and what am I dying for are the same question.”
― Margaret Atwood, The Year of the Flood
![]() Despite not feeling an array of emotions, Cecily is always genial. Because she struggles with creating opinions of her own, she tends to be on the more agreeable side, quoting opinions of her Keepers when asked what her own might be. She is perpetually loyal to her Keepers and places them on the highest of pedestals. She has only good things to say on their behalf and follows their orders with pride and no hesitation. Cecily never loves or hates anyone, staying on a teetering middle ground. She is not angered when people badmouth the things she enjoys or when insulted. Cecily always thinks of herself in the whole, rather than the singular. Instead of referring to herself as 'I' she says 'this one.' This is because Cecily considers herself one with every other living doll to exist. It would not be incorrect to use they pronouns for her though Cecily doesn't care either way and has no preference. She does not consider herself any gender. “I always am in a role, lovely – for you, for them – even for myself. Yeah... Even when I’m alone, I am still in a role – and I myself am the most exacting audience I have ever had.”

![]() DOLL PHYSIOLOGY:Regeneration: Cecily is made completely of magically enhanced glass that allows her to regenerate herself thoroughly, including rebuilding missing limbs. The former takes only a few seconds, but the latter requires fifteen or so minutes of time, meaning she can't do it in one-on-one fights.Pain Suppression: Cecily cannot feel pain and has never felt pain, so is unable to be hindered by it. While her body does take damage, she doesn't realize the effects of said damage. This leads to a lack of cautious on her part. She is unable to feel the effects of temperature, although extreme temperatures will still effect her body in negative ways (if very hot out, she may crack or if freezing her limbs will not respond as quickly as she expects them to). While Cecily can feel touch and knows if someone is touching her, she doesn't feel it the same way a human might. Such things are neither pleasurable nor painful to her. They are only there. Immortality: If shattered completely, Cecily will be down and out. She returns nowhere, and the section of her soul that is tethered to her body simply lingers. If one of her keepers is to repair her, they may call her to her new body with a spell/ritual she gives them upon meeting them. This means she can technically never die, so long as one of her keepers is alive and is willing to bring her back to life. Cecily never ages physically. She also possesses no innards as she was not nor has ever been human. This means she doesn't require food, water, or sleep to maintain herself. LESSER POWERS:Token: Token is the name given to Cecily's demonic engraved staff. The magic isn't anything fancy, it simply keeps the staff from breaking and if given blood from one of her keepers, gives her the ability to find them and be found by them at all times.Token is a simple enough looking staff of dark polished wood (or what seems like wood) and is engraved with demonic runes. To anyone familiar with satanic magic, it wouldn't be hard to see this staff was of such a nature. Enhanced Agility: Cecily has enhanced agility. This ability of hers is a little stronger than her enhanced speed. She is limber enough to fold in odd ways and contort around a battlefield. It can almost appear as if her body is stretching like elastic, this is in part due to her speed working with her agility. Enhanced Speed: Cecily has above average speed and agility. She's not quick enough to be a blur or keep up with creatures like werewolves or vampires, just enough speed to give her a little extra boost in a fight. She has the tendency to be quicker on her feet than with her reaction speed, actually, Cecily doesn't seem to react very quickly in the least. WEAKNESSES:Stolen Soul: Many years ago, Cecily's ability to feel any strong emotion was taken from her. She can feel emotions, but never to any extreme. She may feel happiness, but never joy or excitement. She may feel sympathy or disappointment, but never sadness or depression. She may have affection but never love. This has ridden Cecily of more than half her old personality. She is a mere shell of what she once was.Cecily will never experience true friendship or love. She is incapable of understanding these feelings from others though she may try. Because she has shallow emotions, Cecily often has trouble forming opinions on people or things. In the end, this keeps her from relating to anyone in any meaningful way. My Keeper's Bidding: Cecily no longer has free will of her own. She experiences very slight desires, but they are always overruled by her Keepers desires. When told to do something by one of them, she will never refuse. She has no true moral qualms and so has no official opinions on what her Keepers do. She will always respect and in some weird way "love" them (or love to the extent that Cecily can love). Doll Physiology: Because Cecily has no insides she cannot reproduce, eat, or drink anything. She does not have a sense of taste or smell and has never experienced these things. While she is very life like, she has never truly experienced living as humans do. She understands, objectively, that this was the original intention when she was designed, and so often wonders what it would be like to feel. In keeping with the theme of a doll, Cecily does not have any genitalia, belly button, nipples, or fingerprints. She is, quite literally, a doll beneath her clothing. “I have no emotions. I just stand there, in the rubble of my life.
This… this was my home. If it were a person, this would be a gaping chest wound, the kind no one can recover from.”
― Beth Revis, The Body Electric
![]() Cecily was originally created by a man who planned to sell these living dolls, whom he called the Alarien, as a replacement for employees or children, whatever a human could need. Cecily was one of the first, named Project 08. She, unlike many of her later "siblings" had a personality of her very own. She learned much like a young child might. She had much of the same fascination a toddler did with the world, exploring boundaries. Still, she never quite left the position of a doll. She could not physically feel things. She did not have to eat, drink or sleep, and she could not taste or smell. She longed for these simple human qualities. It took years of upgrading and recreation for the professor to get his projects to near perfect, but always there was something missing. They were still children mentally speaking and that could not do. Children could not work or listen. Children, when giving into their temper, were difficult things. With that in mind, the professor took away the majority of their capacity to feel. To think. To have opinions or desires of their own. Their will was the will of those who owned them. The date he planned to sell these puppets grew closer and closer. He had not been quiet about his intentions, and it drew the attention of influential figures. Powerful, magical people who stood to lose if their secrets were to come out. Cecily's official tale began when her professor was destroyed along with her brothers and sisters. She was saved by unadulterated greed. Lilith, a high profile demon (sometimes known as the Queen of Demons) took a liking to this doll. Took her in as a surrogate daughter, a close, loved servant whom she introduced to the princes of Hell and named Cecily Marionette. They became Cecily's Keepers. Lilith, the Princes of Hell, and all their children. Their will was Cecily's, and she acted on them without hesitation. The little doll loved her Keepers in the way a pet might love their master. For many years, Cecily worked with them. Often she did not stay in Hell, as the climate was simply too much for her. She was their eyes, their ears, their muscle. Whatever those of Hell needed, Cecily would be. Recently, she was deployed to Manta Carlos where a high number of the Princes' children resided. She was to make contact with them. She was to serve them as she had served the Princes' for so many years. “Don't you think it's better to be extremely happy for a short while, even if you lose it, than to be just okay for your whole life?”
