Madhukar Bhattacharya

He squinted at her. The other fae hadn't seemed to react to his iron at all so he wasn't placing any bets on her being the sort who couldn't lie. That said, he was the tiniest curious about what she was about to do. Most fae weren't as emotional as this one, he knew that from experience.

"Okay," he said cautiously. But I'm staying well away while you do. Whatever." Madhukar gestured vaguely.

Linael "Lina"
Linael blinked at the human when he squinted at her. She tilted her head before fluttering her wings gently when he agreed, easily noting the caution in his voice. "That's okay," she nodded gently before fluttering off of his shoulder now and flying off, careful to fly slow so that he could walk so that he wouldn't draw attention. She knew that was the last thing he wanted. She felt guilty that she'd made him feel guilty though and she was going to remedy that.

It took as long as the first journey away from the area had, which, thankfully, had allowed her other pursuers to move on by that point. She came back to where he had stabbed the four dark fae and fluttered down into the drain where he'd swept them away with his boot. Two of them were dead due to the iron while one was unconscious and near the brink and the last one was bleeding out. She fluttered over to the dead ones first, touching them both gently. Their wounds healed as her light shone brighter down in the drain from Madhukar's perspective above.

Reviving the both of them, she quickly flew over to the unconscious one, healing their wounds before then flying over to the still conscious one. She quickly healed him before flying back out of the drain as fast as she could before he could snatch her and back into the man's coat as she peeked down at the drain. "They're alive and well now... you won't get in trouble and their lives won't be on your conscience," she murmured to him, hiding back in his coat. "Though we should probably leave before they decide to retaliate after they completely wake up," she informed softly, having curled up at his shoulder under his coat. She was tired from the act.

He didn't need to be told twice. Immediately, Madhukar was high-tailing it back out of the area, wisely choosing to not question the fact that hooray, he was no longer a murderer. Kind of. He still killed at least some of the fae once so he was sure that still counted under Manta Carlos law.

"Your people are messed up," he told the little fae on his shoulder as he legged it down the streets. "Thanks, I guess. But. What was that about anyways?"

Linael "Lina"
Linael looked up at the human gently when he said that her people were messed up. A frown came upon her and she laid her head back down. "Yes, they can be... the reason they're after me is for my healing abilities. I can revive people who have just died as well as heal a lot of different wounds and sicknesses. My healing abilities are more advanced than most healing fairies... so I'm coveted for this fact by both Light and Dark fae. Although... for my advanced abilities, I'm not very physically strong. So I'm fairly easily subjugated which is why they continue to chase me and why the Light Fae want to lock me away," she murmurs softly. She shudders. "I was already captured once by the Dark Fae... I don't want to go through that again... and while I could go home, I don't want to get them in trouble or be locked away again... it's kind of lonely," she sighs softly.

Madhukar considered this for a few moments. "That seems powerful," he remarked, because wow, really? Full on resurrection? With multiple, possibly infinite uses? Holy shit. Yeah, he could see why people would want to get their hands on that.

And then, he was suddenly put on the spot. Just being around people in need made him twitchy, like he had to do something for them. The fact that this person was a fae made no difference. It still pulled at his screaming heartstrings. "Well," he started, even as something inside of him started frantically telling himself to shut up, "I'm sure we could find somewhere to take you in. There's a lot of scary people on the island and most of them are good."

Linael "Lina"
Linael looked up at the human in curiosity before looking back down. "Um... if it's okay, I'd rather stay with you... you're really strong, kind and brave... and I really don't know anyone else at all here," she murmurs, closing her eyes. "Some people can fall easily to the Dark Fae's temptations... you don't seem like you would. But... I don't want to be a burden so it's okay if you don't want to," she tells him almost too softly, tired from reviving two people and healing two other grievously injured ones.

He blinked so hard that he could feel his eyelids clap together. Madhukar looked around them a few times. "Uh, just to be sure, you're talking to me, right? Because I'm pretty sure you've got the wrong impression."

Internally, he started sweating intensely at what she said next. "I mean, you're pretty small," he said, kicking himself every way he could think of. "You wouldn't take up too much room, I guess. But really, I'm not that great of a person. You could and should find somebody better."

Linael "Lina"
Too tired, she was already half asleep as the human responded to her. She didn't really respond to him aside from curling up as if underneath a blanket in his coat. Her light dimmed as she fell asleep and there was no more to be heard from the human on her part. Clearly, her full decision would likely have to come after she regained some of the energy she had lost from both the chase and healing them.

Linael "Lina"
It took quite some time before Linael started waking up. By the time she was waking, it was already nearing dusk. She still felt bundled up in the coat from before as she blinked open sleepy eyes and looked around. It was noisy but not really. It wasn't the noise that woke her though. She was simply done sleeping. She stretched some before remembering this morning's events and looking at the human who had saved her in surprise. She sat up and looked up at him. "Oh, I'm so sorry! I hadn't meant to fall asleep before finishing our conversation," she murmured softly in worry, poking her pointer fingers together and looking down, feeling bad about it.
