Name: Alaknanda "Alex" Kakulavaram
Grade : College Sophomore
Age: 19
Birthday: June 30
Gender: Demigirl
Category: Student
Class: College; Architecture
Appearance Description: Alaknanada stands at 5"11', and weighs 37 kilograms (subject to debate). She has a rather lean, compact build. She has amber eyes and earthy skin. She usually ties her hair in a high ponytail, but will style it in braided buns for special occasions. She usually wears windbreakers over shirts or anything, to conceal her shoulders. The only exception is for dresses and sarees, where she lets go of her shoulder and back weights, and thus has nothing to hide.
Personality Description: Alex is mostly cheerful, chatty and hardworking, and puts her group above all else. This makes her great with teams. She is practically useless alone, and would chat someone up in a crowd just to have some company. She can be headstrong, and puts her mind to whatever she does. She sometimes has trouble empathizing with people who hesitate. She can be rather pushy, and hates half-baked projects. She also hates freeloaders.
Powers: Alaknanda’s body acts as though the acceleration on earth due to gravity, at sea level, is 3.54 m/s^2. Her terminal velocity through air would be at 15.83 m/s. This means that since her muscles can exert a normal amount of force, she can jump higher and longer distances than others, and can survive falls at great heights, provided that she rolls properly. She counteracts this by putting weights on her shoulders, back, arms and legs. She still can be dragged down by people of normal gravitational pulls, bringing her back to a normal acceleration of 9.8 m/s^2.
Biography: Alaknanda was born in Bangalore, India to an engineer and a human resources manager. Her brother introduced her to his parkour group by having them around the house. They were like a second family to her, and the Kakulavaram family appreciated the way they weren’t too rowdy or destructive.
Soon, she started asking her brother to teach her how to do parkour. She immediately became the youngest member of the group, and would cheer for them in freerunning competitions (because she was still too young to compete). She also went out with them to parkour in parks and other areas.
When she was 13, the group decided to parkour at an abandoned intustrial site. Alaknanda’s brother advised against it, but they went anyway. While running, Alaknanda slipped down a roof while her brother was watching. She fell down two stories, but emerged smiling, though a bit frightened. Her brother noticed that she fell a bit too slowly, and took her home immediately.
Over the years, her falling speed slowed down more and more, until she reached her present initial falling speed at 15 years of age, at 3.52 m/s^2. It got increasingly more difficult to hide the fact that she was falling slower than most things on Earth. So for her 14th birthday, the entire parkour group gave her body weights for her birthday, which was composed of shoulder pieces, back pieces, armbands, and greaves. They were a bit bulky, but they solved the problem of Alaknanda jumping a bit too high at times. She decided that she could just wear a windbreaker to conceal her weights.
She had decided to take Architecture in college, but declined to take any entrance exams when she accepted the letter from Starlight Academy. Leaving her friends and family was difficult, but she took the chance and moved away from Bangalore to Manta Carlos.
