[ This is a huge open thread, no posting order. Feel free to pop in and out-- as long as you read this whole long description first (a good skim is fine), it's important to get a feel for the setting! But after that, go nuts. ]

Last Christmas, there'd been a grand celebration based around the Princes of Hell and their children-- though it'd also been open to demons in general and any accompanying guests, or those who stumbled upon it by accident. It'd been loud, excessive, and ridiculously fun. This time, it was happening again, but with less Hell Prince influence, more Rosales influence. It was Klaus Rosales', local Greed demon and Rosales gang Kingpin, birthday and overall favorite holiday season of all time. That meant quite the occasion. This was the one of the biggest and most anticipated parties of the year.

The location was the same as last year, which Klaus had found and helped rent for them before. A space the size of two mansions, perfect for a new level of crazy house party style get-together. It was in the middle of the wealthy district and directly connected to a Hell portal, though the sin demon's Hell in particular, since it wasn't as though there was only one. Ah, lovely multiverse. This portal was heavily guarded by gang member security to make sure nobody accidentally stumbled in or out of it. It was mostly for the ease of friendly demonic relatives popping in to visit.

The inside of the building was decorated expensively, with completely non-religious but very festive Christmas looks, and classic Rosales themes of red, gold, roses, snakes, and affluence. It had three areas. A middle section, a left section, and a right section. The middle area was a cleaner, classier one and the main focus, a good greeting area. It had the food and present exchanging. The food buffet was more than endless and equally delicious, with anything you could ever name or want, because for fuck's sake, it was a Greed demon hosting. If he didn't go all out, nobody could. There was one present table completely dedicated to offerings for Klaus, seeing there'd be more than enough of that happening here, and another for Rosales children and Vito. Another table for cakes, with room cleared for very large cakes that might be later delivered by the amusing birthday fairy Pip. Each Christmas these parties seemed to get bigger and better. It was a good time to shake your usual worries away and lose yourself, because everything was taken care of here.

The left flank was for the loud club/house party element with a dance floor and fancy DJ on a stage, along with various performers that would be popping up here and there. It also had a large bar and careful, careful restrictions for those that were underage. It was highly unlikely there'd be any alcohol sneaking here, with how protective Klaus tended to be over children. The right flank was really just for kids, with a little playground setup for the really small babies, then arcade and hangout place for the older ones. The kids could go in the other spaces, but this was good if they needed a breather or extra safety.

In terms of guest invitations, the main focus was demons and Rosales allies, who received formal invites. Otherwise, it was a very open party, and unless you were there to be hostile or had very negative previous Rosales experiences (usually from threatening one of their children, which wasn't tolerated), you'd be welcomed warmly. Despite the place being stuffed with demons and gangsters, it was extremely comfortable. The scary looking security was there to make sure no blatant fights broke out, and important individuals, especially the host's very treasured kids, had bodyguards lurking around them. Overall, it was all fun, happy chatter, and affection with a strong hint of Demonic mischief and dark humor.

This was an event that'd roar on for several days, or even the whole week until New Years, but currently starting on early Christmas evening, about five PM. The food and most of the drinks (the first few with the alcoholic) are all free, so everyone can partake in the indulgence. Have fun! That's what's most important.

***

Klaus was giddy, to say the least. It was finally time for Christmas, his thirty-first birthday, soon to be his fiance Vito's birthday, and the first holiday season with a lot of his newly adopted wonderful, beloved children. He had so many gifts for everyone close to him, all of his beautiful people and possessions, and was going to receive so many in return. It was fantastic way to end the year, and he was going to savor it as much as humanly, and demonly, possible. Which meant he was going to savor it a damn fucking lot. He adored this week.

The night before, late Christmas eve he'd run around and had some silly adventures dressing up as 'Santa Klaus' and breaking into people's houses to leave them gifts, but now he had a flashy, all-out Rosales outfit on. It featured numerous pieces of jewelry, a rose flower crown, draped top, and a big rose and snake print red-gold coat. He was at his very best, eccentric, overindulgent, and rich on the eyes, oozing intense charm, magic at a peak on this most auspicious day. He was radiant, magnetic, beautiful, and oh-so ready for the days of spoiling and pampering towards himself and others. Presents, feasting, alcohol, sex-- you couldn't get more of the high life than this.

Klaus was living it the fuck up, no doubt about it. He grinned like the brightest star in the sky and stood at a balcony overlooking the main middle area, watching the people flow in and start to make it a party worth remembering. He loved it. He loved everything, and wanted everything. This was a small, but relevant piece of that. He kept an eye on the crowd, scanning to wait for family to pop up, so he could aggressively show affection towards anyone he caught.

Shay slid beside Klaus onto the balcony overlooking the entrance so she too could scan the crowd. She had arrived early with her father, to help set things up and get a feel for the place. That would help with any anxiety she had. Crowded places still weren't her comfort zone, even if she was usually found among them now.

She whistled lowly, leaning forward. "Already lots of people coming in. Wonder if Invidia will show up. I got her a dress so she couldn't say no."

[ Invidia ]

She couldn't say no.

Invidia was hesitant about attending the party. One because she wasn't really very fond of parties — too crowded — and two, she didn't think she could fit in very well. But Shay was rather... insistent. Going out of her way to even send her a dress to wear. She had other options of course but remembering her family's caliber, she might feel a little out of place. She hadn't really interacted much with the family too and that still worried her too.

The crowd flowing into the venue was a challenge she managed to overcome, but then there was the task of finding her way around. She kept her gaze steady and but a little cast down, careful not to meet the eyes of anyone she didn't find remotely familiar. The only miracle she could ask for at the moment is either she finds Shay, or someone else entirely familiar.

If there was a party and Vapor was allowed to be there it would be, though honestly it even showed up sometimes when they were not. It had heard about this particular get together on one of their little outings and decided that it absolutely had to make an appearance, plus it knew the name Rosales. If it was correct that would be Lady shay's family so it might even stumble into her as well.

A day or so prior Vapor had received a gift of suits and decided to wear one, though the colour scheme of black and dark grey with red accents was still very much in tact, and was told that it looked rather dashing in it. As much as a monster made of smoke and smog could be called dashing. The one difference though was that instead of a pure red tie it now wore one what happened to have a rose pattern on it.

Now here it was walking into the building with the intent of enjoying itself, as well as getting a few drinks under its' belt, though anyone paying close enough intention would see that it was only mimicking the act of walking. In face Vapor Von Rauch was currently floating an inch or so off the ground, the soles of its shoes never actually making contact. Why it did this one one could say, though it probably found it rather amusing to do so.

As it made its way in though Vapor was sudden hit but the sheer intensity of it all. This right here? THIS was why it had decided to invest its interest into man, it's world, and all the other creatures that seemed to flock to it. The lights, the drinking, the sheer debauchery of it all was perfect. Vapor almost felt like, in this moment, that the island could potentially be something that it could call home.

It smiled that empty smile that it usually had, the one that would have been warm and inviting if it ever actually went past the surface or was reflected in its eyes, and made a bee line for the one thing it knew it had interest in here. Vapor von Rauch headed to the bar.

It approached and leaned on the counter and pulled out some rather fine looking cigars, another part of the gift it had received. It carefully selected one and replaced the rest before it ignited one of its index fingers to light it, waiting for one of the bartenders. When it finally had their attention it took a long drag on the cigar, inhaling but never exhaling, and spoke.

"Scotch, 18 years old minimum, straight up. Please make sure it doesn't even get close to any ice."

Live often felt conflicted when it came to parties. On the one hand, free booze and a chance to escape the normalities of her daily life. On the other hand, lots of drunk people. A bit of a contradiction, yes, but Live was contradictory on quite a few levels.

She had decided to come to this party for two reasons. The first was that it was Christmas, which was her least favorite holiday, and she needed someway to get through it. The second was that she owed someone something and she didn't like for debts to go unpaid.

It had taken Live a while to figure out how to pay back this debt. Shay and her had quite the argument about gift giving but the animosity hadn't held for long. Live had realized that she had to resign to the fact the sometimes people were going to do things for her. She could either fight it or accept the gift the universe had handed. However, she knew that this time of year was about giving, not getting. So if she got, she had to give.

But what could she give to Shay? The girl already had everything. She had a family that spoiled her rotten and was quite popular in school. Live knew this didn't mean her life was perfect or anything but it was a bit hard not to draw parallels between Shay and the girls that use to pick on her in middle school.

Except that Shay had never been mean to Live like those other girls and she felt a bit bad for attributing their flaws to Shay so quickly. Maybe she was trying to make up for that with bag she clutched at her side.

It wasn't anything fancy, because Live wasn't anything fancy. Just a black paper bag with some red tissue paper. Live looked surprisingly similar to the bag in her chewed up black sweater and red baseball cap with a pot leaf hand sown on the front of it. She also carried a black purse with a long strap across her body her makeup was also especially dark and well done for the event. Of course, she adorned herself with many pieces of jewelry, all of a Satanic nature.

She looked around the room, hoping to spot Shay or her father. She had met Klaus briefly the year before at a Halloween party but doubted he would remember her. Mostly because she couldn't remember what happened that night herself.

Her eyes scanned the three sections and quickly spotted the booze area. She figured she should get some drunk in her system before she settled her debt. She made her way over to the bar, next the real smokey guy who seemed real into his scotch, and ordered herself a beer. She figured she should start this party out slow and avoid any crazy mixed drinks.

Yura Bengall

This would be…interesting.

Yura had never attended a Rosales party before. She had no real reason to. But now…things had changed. After being a neutral party for so long, she was indirectly involved with the Rosales family. Fucking Gabriel…But, Yura had to admit, there was a part of her that felt that perhaps it was inevitable. You never really leave the gang life, do you?

Rather than her usual suits, Yura decided to embrace a more feminine side and wore a sleek, black dress. It had a deep plunging neckline, falling over her thin torso before clinging to the curve of her hips. She wore dark lipstick, dark nails and winged tipped eyeliner sharp enough to cut a bitch.

For now, Yura did not engage with anyone. She grabbed a drink—sadly nonalcoholic, or else she’d be trying to chase after every woman she saw and fight every man. A shame she was not as strong as she used to be--surely she would be kicked out in no time.

She remained at the bar, sipping her drink and watching the people around her as they poured in and scattered throughout the venue.

Vapor raised an eyebrow as others seemed to gather around the bar, though one in particular had caught its eye. This human, female, had come to the party in what most people would have called rags and adorned with some sort of symbol covered jewelry, ones that it thought had something to do with the Christianity myths that it had heard so much about during its long life.

Still, this meat creature had at least had the taste to wear red and black. It was a colour choice that Vapor itself was rather found of. It had been about to say as much, probably in a tone that would be considered a tad rude, but was distracted when a glass of amber liquid had been placed in front of it cutting the words off to only a few syllables. Picking it up and smiling once again Von Rauch turned towards its newly acquired, but probably all too temporary, acquaintance and raised the glass up.

"Cheers, as they say." And with that it drank the whiskey in one large gulp and set it down, motioning for another.

Though to say that it drank it would not be all that accurate, it was more like it poured the whiskey pass what could only be called lips and then the liquid mixed with whatever it was under the surface that made its substance. As this happened the liquid started to catch fire rapidly, causing many small explosions deep in its core being. To anyone close enough to see it was like a tiny red fireworks display underneath the skin of this well dressed monster.

Malara & Dalia

It was hard to tell who was more excited, mother or daughter. Both were practically bouncing on their feet as they entered the party, big stupid grins on their faces. Despite Dalia's spidery lower half, there could be no question that the two blondes were related.

Dalia wanted to immediately head over to the food, see what kind of people dishes she could find. Malara, meanwhile, was dead set on the dance floor. But Malara knew she couldn't just run off and do what she wanted. She had to, first and foremost, pay respects to the man of the hour. So, taking her daughter's clawed hand, she practically charged through the crowds of people to get to her target, the brightest man in the room, Klaus Rosales.

He was even easier to pick out, being on a balcony overlooking the whole affair. Like the goddamn mastermind he was. Climbing the stairs, the two of them made a b-line for Klaus and Shay.
Dalia was faster than her mother, and broke away at a full on sprint. All eight of her legs coiling up, she leapt a surprising distance and wrapped her arms around Klaus' leg, hugging him tight. "GRANDPA KLAUS! YOU LOOK AMAZING!"
Dalia herself was actually wearing a somewhat frilly dress, done up in green and red. It wasn't terribly fancy, as she had spent most of her time working on clothes for others for the holidays, but it was still decidedly feminine.

Malara approached behind the spiderling, trying to look angry over her blatant amusement. She was... surprisingly over-dressed. Wearing a long coat and skirt, Malara almost looked respectable. Only her wild, golden hair and the dark red lipstick took away from the image of a polite member of society.
With a small wave, she moved in for her own one armed hug for Klaus. "Hey birthday boy. I saw the temple of gifts in your honor. Will you even have enough time to open all of those before next year rolls around?
And Shay, you're looking good. Enjoying the holidays?"

Diam's shoes clicked slightly as he stepped up to the door. A Greed demon's party would hardly be kept quiet, and the selection of drinks was never something to be passed up. Diam was bored besides, and suspected there would be something worth participating in on the other side of this mansion's wooden portal.

For the evening he wore a dapper pin-stripe suit, grey in color, that seemed out of place on his childish frame. His eyes glanced around at the growing crowd, and up to the balcony where Klaus was observing as he made his way inside.

He allowed himself to idle about and appreciate some of the more extravagant decorations before making his way to the gift table. Diam may not have known Klaus, but he did know that failing to bring a gift to one of Greed's brood was considered extremely rude.

He placed a simple box on the table. the content was a ceramic doll, incredibly well made but somewhat plain. Diam then found his way to the drinks table, searching out the selection for vampiric tastes.

Noli Zaphir

Noli didn’t quite have the same energy level as the mother and daughter duo she came with. She tried her best to keep up with the two as they ran around, but was more sluggish and easily fell behind.

She wasn’t entirely sure she even wanted to come, but Shay had invited her and Malara took her along, so…there she was. She tried her best to look nice in her purple dress, flower accessories, black heels—like someone who didn’t look completely out of place next to Malara. Not that it really mattered, did it? Cat would come around soon, and then she would be next to Malara instead of Noli.

She eventually caught up to the two, panting a little and her feet already sore from her high heels. Noli didn’t speak up right away, but she did wave to Klaus and Shay from behind Malara and Dalia.
