A Very Rosales Christmas Party

"Which one is Klaus?" Theo asked curiously, staring up at all the adults. They were so big in comparison to him. How would they be able to see Klaus? The party was like nothing he had ever seen before. Everything was so... Big. His three friends were the only people his size that he could see.

His question was quickly answered by Eek running off up the stair railing. Klaus must've been up the top. Theo wouldn't let him go alone, though. His loyalty already stretched to each member of their gang-club-game-group thing and Eek seemed cool. He wasn't above him like the leaders were, although Arjean was already his friend. He thought they could be good friends.

Running up the stairs after Eek, he couldn't climb as fast, but still climbed his way up swiftly. Then he noticed that he was trying to stay quiet, so Theo held himself back from talking. He climbed one of the decorations in place and watched the group Klaus was supposedly in from above. When he looked for Eek again, he was gone. He couldn't spot him anywhere.

He had to look for him. Theo rolled out from where he was hiding and slid all the way down the stair railing, hopping off and rushing to Arjean and Junchi. "Where is Eek?" He asked them frantically. They couldn't have lost a member already, it was way too soon!

Honestly, Theo was enjoying whatever game they were playing. It was fun running around a room full of grown-ups who didn't notice them. He decided to do one last search for Eek, finding high ground on the playground set up for children and scanning the area. Where was he?

It pleased Junchi to see the members already at work on observing Klaus, and he found himself liking Eek and Theo more and more as he got to know them better. Junchi was a bit worried about how Theo seemed to treat this more as a game than a job, but a job should also be fun too, so he didn't mind that much as long as work got done. Since Eek and Theo seemed to want to busy themselves with observing Klaus, that left him and Arjean with the options of just observing people associated with Klaus. His first idea were the kids, then maybe the guards, and maybe there would even be some people not very happy with Klaus. Junchi had a good feeling people who disliked or hated him wouldn't be allowed into the party since they may start trouble, but some people were better at hiding their feelings than others. In that case, badmouthing someone who's hosting the party you're attending was a stupid idea.

Junchi himself didn't know if he liked or disliked Klaus. So far he was reminded of Arjean's family with the amazing wealth, and back on Ilada they were obviously popular for their status. Arjean also didn't seem to have a disliking of Klaus, and was gawking as all the pretty stuff he had. Junchi had a really good feeling that they were trying to distract themself with the prettiness to ignore how many people were present and keep themself calm.

He was taken out of his thought when Theo came down asking where Eek went, which Arjean just replied by pointing up to where Klaus was. "Shape-shifting, maybe," was all they responded with. Theo left to do one last check it seemed, but Junchi noticed that Arjean seemed to speak with a more plain tone than usual, yet still kept that fake happy look. Junchi felt a small sense of worry whenever he noticed Arjean acting weird—or weirder than they already were—but considering the situation he wasn't surprised they weren't crying or screaming or trying to pull him away from the crowd. At the moment they were doing well, which could mean the plan could go smoothly, or they would explode at the worst of times.

"We need a way to talk," Arjean told Junchi. For a moment he didn't understand, but he eventually realized they didn't really settle on a source of communication for far distances. Letters and face-to-face meetings were what they did so far, but they needed to have something like phones or mind reading or whatever to make it easier and quicker. Now didn't seem like the best time to plan on communication considering they were already at the party, and Junchi thought it would be best to just stay in an area that was easy for the two to see. Oricenta didn't seem to be very common on the islands, so it shouldn't be too difficult to be spotted. If the two needed something, they could just wave their wings or Arjean could fly up. With that idea, Junchi led Arjean closer to the gift area to see where the kids were. Maybe there were people their age they could play with while Theo and Eek did spy stuff, or maybe they'd get so bored they could help assist Theo and Eek.

Chloe was wearing her nice red dress - the one with the slit that showed off her entire leg and left her back completely exposed. It was red, and that made it christmas-y.

Chloe had come to give her gifts to Klaus and some of the children, and to say hello. That was done with. Now she was going to get drunk, because she hated the holiday season. Not even having her own family to attend to was enough for her to heal, to get over all the family she'd lost and missed and cried about every year. She still felt empty inside.

She annihilated her margarita in under ten seconds, and she had been certain that the bartender wouldn't be stingy with the tequila. Her second drink was a rum and coke, and she took her time with this one. Now all she had to do was wait for it to kick in, and to find someone to talk to.

That woman with the green streaks in her hair was pretty cute. Between the hair dye and all that black, she seemed to have a vaguely gothic aesthetic. She also looked familiar, for some reason, but Chloe couldn't place her.

In any case, she didn't seem to be preoccupied with anything else at the moment. "I'm sorry, I swear I've met you before," Chloe said, moving into the seat next to her at the bar. "Do you go to the Academy?"

Vapor listened to her story and nodded, everyone in this place was here for a reason. Some wanted to be and some, like the smoke monster itself, had to be.

“I see, everyone here has a story it seems. I must admit I tend to pry sometimes as I just like to listen sometimes as people are here for a whole verity of reasons” It smiled and finished off its drink. “Mine is not that exciting though, I got caught robbing a place that was supposed to be as they said 'unrobbable'. They proved that to be true, but only on my third attempt. The first two were rather successful I might add. How they knew to create that air tight trap though I will never know.”

Vapor had noticed that its cigar was starting to go out so it placed it back in their mouth and then caused its index finger to burst into flame, which it used to relight said cigar, before extinguishing the finger and inhaling deeply.

“Still I have not found my imprisonment to be too bad. This island has brought me many fine opportunities and I have met so many interesting people like Lady Shay” It paused for a second to inhale more smoke again, “And yourself as well as so far I have found our conversation to be rather delightful.”

Vapor pulled one of the ancient looking gold coins from its pocket again and placed it on the bar top, pushing it towards the bartender and motioning to its glass again.

Live watched curiously as he placed a gold coin on the counter. She was pretty sure this bar was complimentary, at least for the first few drinks. Maybe he had already been drinking for quite some time.. Speaking of which, her beer was gone.

As the bartender returned with Vapor's drink, Live ordered herself another beer and asked for an extra special demon brew this time. She would have to abstain from the alcohol for a bit after this. She was already really stoned as it was and her buzz was kicking in from the first beer by now too.

She nodded in agreement, "I'm not so much into the stories as I am the information. See, you encounter things here," She eyed Vapor, "That you could only dream of in the moral world. This place...this island is a heaven for everything that truly interests me. I didn't know that when I first arrived though. I figured at best it would be an escape from my previous life..had no idea that I would be starting a whole new one..one that was actually worth living."

The bartender brought Live her beer and she nodded in thanks.

"Anyways, I must agree on the bit about Shay.. Can't say I fancied her much when we first met but she has a way of growing on you. I'm just here tonight to repay a debt and party a bit."

She shrugged and paused taking a sip of her beer, smiling as the bitter and refreshing liquid ran down her throat, "Damn that's good. So, what were you robbing from this 'unrobbable' place?"

Vapor thought about it for a second and then just seemed to shrug before answering her questions.

"Honestly? I do not remember!" it seemed to laugh a bit at this. "It was art, or was it jewels? Maybe a little bit of both? The fact of the matter was that someone said it couldn't be done, so of course I HAD to."

It smiled at this and picked up its drink as soon as it had been refilled and finished it off once more.

"What was the name of the place again? Royal Ontario Museum?" it waved it off as if it was of no importance. "It doesn't matter, what does is they said I couldn't and I did! Twice!"

It pulled another couple gold coins and pushed them to the bartender and motioned at its glass then held up two fingers, indicating for two more scotch. Once they were delivered it kept one for itself and then pushed the other towards Live.

"Cheers!" Vapor said as it tipped back it's own drink, letting out a rather contented sounding sigh, if one assumed it could feel content.

Yura looked Chloe over as soon as she started to approach. Chloe may not have recognized Yura, but Yura certainly recognized Chloe. Baltimore’s daughter. They had no had much in the way of interaction before, but Yura liked to know who was who in Manta Carlos. Plus, Chloe was a pretty cute girl. Would Baltimore be upset at her for having such thoughts about his daughter? Hm~

“Mm, not from the school. I think you may better know me for having a club down on The Strip and being direct competition to your father. I’m that bitch.”

She laughed. Not one of animosity despite her words. Rather, Yura was more amused than anything else, as she showed when she continued:

“And now I am that bitch that is working with him. Go figure.”

Yura sipped her drink before setting it down and leaning in just a bit closer to Chloe.

“In other words, I’m Yura Bengall.” She held a hand out for Chloe to shake.

Chloe couldn't tell if the alcohol was starting to hit already. She felt drunk, in any case, and she felt stupid for not recognizing Yura earlier. Her father had told her about Yura and the deal with her, but she forgot the details of that deal. Boring businessy stuff.

"Oh! Nice to finally meet you then, Yura. It's great to have a face for the name." Chloe shook her hand, and as she made eye contact, she drained Yura for only a second. Yura would feel a fluttery giddy feeling, like a first kiss with a first love, but more intense. Chloe kept talking like nothing happened. "I've been meaning to check out Club Gambit. I remember someone telling me it's the best host or hostess club on the island. Never been to one of those before."

Chloe shifted in her seat. The slit in her dress went up her right leg past where someone should probably start seeing underwear, but there was only skin there. The way she crossed her legs made this even more apparent from where Yura was sitting. Of course, Chloe was wearing underwear. It was special underwear, designed specifically to work with this dress, and to make people consider the possibility that she wasn't wearing any underwear.

She had heard, vaguely, of Yura's reputation with the ladies, and she hoped she could take advantage of it. In no small part because she didn't want Amber to see her coming home drunk.

Yura grinned as she felt that surge of energy course through her body. A taste of what was to come? Before Chloe let go from their handshake, Yura brought her hand up to her lips and gave it a kiss.

“It’s both. We have hosts and hostesses.”

Yura’s eyes trailed along Chloe’s leg as she spoke, following the slit that seemed to just keep going. She knew what type of undergarments Chloe had to be wearing—as she had to wear the same in her own dress. But, it didn’t stop the illusion from being a nice little temptation.

Yura herself leaned forward, bringing herself closer to Chloe while also giving her a nicer view of her chest. Yura’s breasts may have been on the smaller side, but damn did they look good in that dress.

“You really should stop by sometime. I’ll treat you to some drinks.”
