“So this is the place… Can’t say I’d ever come here without a reason.” Gulliver commented, overlooking the small bookstore, pulling a small piece of paper out from under his hat, making sure this was the correct address. “You’d think the kind of people who can get so many people clawing for scraps would be living it up rather than working in a musty place like this. Not you though. You are worth so much more than those other ones.” He said, making sure to not insult his own regalia, glancing over at the mirror faced individual and smiling, although not inherently malicious, the flickering flamelike effects that made up his face certainly gave it that impression.

Picking up a silver-colored briefcase next to him, Gulliver entered the business, making sure to duck under the door, taking off his hat as to fit in the room without hitting the ceiling, the mirror faced regalia shortly behind. It was rare for Bellamy to be quiet like this, although the lack of pretty ladies was probably a large factor in this. The being of greed ignored the shelves moving straight to the sales counter and putting the briefcase on top of it.

“I’m here to meet some of the workers in this establishment.” He said, holding slipping the gilded envelope the invitation to the tournament had been contained in, indicating the reason he was here.

There was something soothing about the smell of gently molding paper, so unlike the harsh lemon scent of artificial cleaners and sterilization. It was lucky that Aslan had stumbled upon this shop during one of the lowest points of his existence - coming to this place might have actually saved his pathetic life. It was only reasonable to assume that he would be just a little protective of the place.

At the sound of a new, rather haughty sounding voice, Aslan felt his hackles immediately go up in suspicion. "Can I help you?" He asked, blunt. "What about the tournament did you have a problem with?"

“No problems actually. In fact, I think its a wonderful little event, both in theory and execution” Gulliver complimented, “No, I am here for a different reason, a chat to put it lightly.” He explained, quickly punching a series of numbers into the briefcase, scanning his fingerprint on a scanner, and turning several combination locks.

“For the simple act of meeting with me, each individual will receive one of these.”[color] The greedy individual said, opening the case, pulling out a wad of cash worth 500,000 Manta Carlos dollars. “For every question answered, I will throw in a little bonus. Just know I do not appreciate being lied to.” He said, holding up several more of the stacks before replacing all of the cash he had pulled out. “And I assure you there will be more where that came from, if you hear me out that is” the being of greed said, smiling slightly.

Aslan's eyebrows went straight up at the sheer amount of money being offered to him. "All right, what's going on here?" he asked, extremely suspicious. "This isn't payment for a hit, is it? Because this is so shady, it puts shadows to shame. I can't answer any questions about your fellow contestants so don't even think about it. I also can't rig the tournament in your favor, purposely misdirect other participants for you, or convince Cornelius to do anything. Especially that last part, so don't try it."

Woe be the unto person who tried to argue with a Regalia with a patient temperament. That was why Aslan never liked talking to Cornelius; there was simply no winning arguments with him.

“Shady it may be, I assure you this has nothing to do with the other participants, if I wanted to know about them it would be much simpler to use this money in other ways.” Gulliver said, holding out his pinky finger as if to promise with it. “It's not about the other contestants, any other regalia, or even the prize. No, this is about me and you” He said, pointing between himself and the blue haired individual, “Particularly you.” he added, his pointing finger settling on the man across from him.

“If you are willing to answer a few little tidbits, I’m sure it will be worth your while.” Gulliver smiled, resting a hand on the briefcase and patting it gently, “So what do you say? You willing to humor a few little questions and earn yourself a bit of extra spending cash, no strings attached?”

He listened carefully, still not quite trusting this man further than he could be thrown. "I'll answer your questions," Aslan said. "It's what I'm here for, of course. But I reserve the right to pass on questions I'd like not to answer." It was never smart to agree fully to something without knowing what the full terms were. Besides, while Aslan certainly did not need the money, he knew that Ithai did for things like rent and food. It seemed only considerate to act in his interests.

“As good as it's gonna get I suppose.” Gulliver sighed playfully, silently praising the man somewhat for keeping his wits about him. “So, you and the regalia. You’re the same, right?” he asked quietly, leaning in and spreading his wings to create a makeshift privacy curtain.

“You and your coworkers of are great interest to me. I’m looking to get a bit chummy with you guys if that makes sense. I’m even willing to completely revoke my right to the winning prize and toss a few extra million into the prize pool, a little bit more to entice the rabble.” He said, opening the briefcase completely to reveal the contents. “You may not need money to survive, but surviving doesn’t mean you’re living. There is only so much you can get with pocket change, but with enough cash, you can practically buy the world.” He said, pulling out the 500,00 up front cash and laying it on the desk, holding up a bundle of 100,000 for the question he was asking, though holding it tight until the answer came out.

“Naturally. Assumptions must be made to conduct business. However, its not a far fetched assumption is it? These regalia only showed up once you and your friends showed up, there was no mention of them before. Whether they be slaves, your creations, or one of your own, their appearance is directly related to your own appearances.” He started, resting his head in his hand, thoughtfully spinning the cash in the other.

“Then there is the matter of living expenses. I know from my own friend that regalia do not require nourishment to survive. I’ve done some research you see, had some people staking out. There’s not a lot of groceries for three people, is there?” He continued, tilting his head quizzically. Truth be told, some of those people had been Gulliver himself in disguise, not that he was going to tell him that. “Isn’t that strange how that tidbit lines up?”

Aslan Solak

Aslan was silent for a few moments as he debated his options. They were meant to be found out, of course, but not quite like this. "You're a stalker," he said flatly. "I can't possibly respect that, though I acknowledge that you did so in pursuit of knowledge rather than obsession. " Or at least he hoped. "Just what do you want from me?"
