“Rude, but true.” Gulliver responded to the accusation, shrugging. “You’re not supposed to respect it, it's a shady tactic, but it's undeniably effective. Glad you can at least understand my reasoning.” he said, waving off the remark. He took the lack of an answer to mean his assumptions were correct, and put the stack of cash next to the first one.

“Straight to the point, can’t say I don’t respect that in a man.” Gulliver commented, scratching his chin thoughtfully. “That depends honestly. If you’re like the rest of these guys, I’m here for a deal. Regardless of your answer, I have an invitation of my own for you and your friends, optional of course.” He explained, pulling out several invitations, similarly gilded to the ones that had been sent out before, but contained in a black envelope with silver trim, putting them on the counter next to the money.

“To put it simply, I’m looking to make a friend or two, is that so wrong? What did you call it? A pact?” the being of greed said clearly, staring into the other man's eyes. “This is an offer I will make to you as well as the others. Take it or leave it, just know that there will certainly be more in it for you then that little case right there. For a simple little deal, you can live like a king. All the luxury money could ever buy at your fingertips. I assure you every word I’ve said is true, let those little gifts serve as proof.” He said, gesturing to the cash on the counter.

“Though if you still don’t believe me, those invitations are to a little get together for the participants in this little event of your’s. VIP of course. Let you get a feel for the place.” Gulliver said, tapping the letters gently.

His eyes narrowing, Aslan told the man, "Assume that I don't care about money. Then what? Your entire argument falls apart. For all you know, I won't even be living among humans for much longer." He crossed his arms, assuming a steady stance. "Convince me that I want to pact with you. Besides money, what's in it for me? What kind of relationship are you even hoping for? Because I won't be the dog to your master."

“What’s it in for you besides wealth. An interesting question, though a perfectly reasonable one I suppose.” Gulliver scratched his chin thoughtfully. This was always the hardest thing for him. To desire was in his nature, it was his nature, and of all of the desires out there the desire for wealth was the most prevalent. Gulliver had never not wanted money, no matter how much he had, meaning for someone who money wasn’t a motivator for it could be very difficult for the tall individual to put himself in their shoes.

“I suppose it would depend on what you are looking for. A friend to lean on. The opportunity to repair mistakes of the past. Support in any endeavor you may face. Safety.” He proposed, although the options were rather flimsy. “I assure you, a dog is the last thing you would be treated as. So long as it stays within a certain amount of reason, you would have free reign to do as you please. Anything asked of you wouldn’t be an order to be followed, merely a request to be heard out.” The being of greed explained, laying out from what he figured were enticing options. In the match he had, he hadn’t even seen the other challenger’s regalia while Bellamy had been free to run around as he pleased.

"And if all I want to do is stay here?" Aslan demanded, motioning towards the books around them. "Then what will you do?" He supposed that he was happy enough with where he was. It wasn't much but it was still a life worth living, having a small group of confidants who were interested in the same general subjects and weren't much for talking.

“Then I suppose my business here is finished.” Gulliver said, placing one more wad of cash on the desk for good measure before locking the briefcase up once more. “Remember, those invitations are to be given to your coworkers. If you don’t some unfortunate issues may pop up around here. I’d deliver them if I were you. Do so and that will be the last of me you will see.” He said, his wings folding up once more, the being of greed turning around to leave.

Stopping he grabbed a book from one of the shelves, The Crystal Stopper. “Oh, and I hope it won’t be an issue if I help myself to this, surely I’ve paid you more than enough.” He commented smiling slightly, taking out his hat once more and replacing it on his head after leaving the building.

“No dice I’m afraid. This one doesn’t seem to want to bite.” He commented to his regalia, who had been waiting in the back seat of a limousine nearby.

“Unfortunate, but not unexpected” Bellamy responded tapping his finger a few times. “Hopefully, one of the others will.”
