Name: Aris Kaaras Euez. Responds to Aris mainly.
Age: 27
Birthday: October 19
Gender: Bisexual male
Category: Instructor, Botany

Appearance Description: Aris is tall, even taller than Mor at a staggering seven feet of height, even without having any additions like his brother. Perhaps the only noticeable inhumanity he has is the pair of dull yellow horns extending from his temples to either side of his head, and then bending forward, ending seven inches away from his forehead. That, and his earthly green skin, thick and leathery, and rough, almost as if it were plant-like. And his dark pink hair, spiky and covering until the base of his neck, as if it were some sort of protective armor.

Aris' body is very well-toned from years of battle, but there are few scars on him - the only noticeable ones at first glance are the long gash extending diagonally from his left chest to his belly, and the scar extending vertically through his right eye. His eyes are almost affixed in a perpetual glare. His ears are long and pointed, but they are tilted backward.

He is often found wearing his armor, which is a tight-fitting suit of chain mail underneath a brass breastplate and a tunic with loose sleeves up to above his elbow joint, and a skirt of sorts extending until his knees, but only at the back. On casual days, he wears tight shirts and simple jeans, and not much else. At work, he wears short-sleeved dress shirts.

Personality Description: For a warmonger, Aris is uncharacteristically friendly and approachable, despite his perpetual look of mild disapproval (which he claims is hereditary). He does not turn away people for any reason other than open hostility, but he is not afraid to speak his mind and say his judgments. This sort of honesty of his is still tempered with tact and calculation however, as he does not simply blurt out things. He takes his time with thinking of what to say, and how to act.

Aris is cautious but capable of taking risks. He just does not approve that much of unnecessary risks when it comes to the bigger decisions.

His friendliness is added to by his sometimes overextending helping hand, as he simply tries to help everyone he can when he thinks there is nothing to be lost by it. He does tend to be used due to this tendency, but he doesn't quite mind because to him there is nothing to be lost by it. However, he has a rather terrifying protective side - he is the sort of person that doesn't mind personal loss, but will bring hell to whoever is stupid enough to try and harm someone he cares for (which is a very long list).

Powers:
Rerith's Reflowering (official name) / Plant Control and Creation

Aris can create, manipulate, and destroy any sort of plant life. He can create plants anywhere as long as it is within thirty meters, and even in material that should not be capable of supporting life such as concrete. However, there are some conditions regarding his plant creation:

The surface must be capable of physically supporting the plant in question.

Plants created on surfaces incapable of biologically sustaining them will die rapidly after thirty minutes.

Plants created do not instantly appear; they begin at the point desired as a magical seed or spore and grow rapidly to the desired level of maturation, after which they become normal plants unless it is contradictory to the second condition.

Plants cannot spontaneously be created on living organisms. If a plant growing from, say, a person, was desired, the seed must first be somehow introduced inside said organism in some manner.

As for manipulation, he can control plants as if they were limbs, but controlling more than one at a time forces him to stand still. With one, he can still move normally, but must exert full concentration. The plants he control can bend and move in illogical ways, such as trees curling up, but the speed, motion and power of these movements are directly proportional to his own. He can only move them the same way as he can his own limbs. He can also accelerate the growth of preexisting plants, stop it, or reverse it.

He can accelerate plant growth and fast-forward it to death and decay to remove plants.

Battlefield Prowess

As the Euez family heir apparent, Aris has been trained in countless battles and has developed an advanced level of skill in several fields, most notably in direct combat. His proficiency with weaponry is almost awkward - he can handle swords, shields, and axes, but he uses a whip in his right hand and a spear in his left in unison as his signature weaponry. His considerable skill, far above a normal human's (perhaps thrice that of a peak human) along with his increased physical capabilities (similarly scaled) make him quite a threat, but his peacefulness means he does not exercise these capabilities unless particularly threatened. Also, his peculiar weapon choice means he is weaker in an enclosed space.

He uses his magic in conjunction with his physical capabilities as a sort of utility ability, which lets him create zones of influence in the field by blocking off points with plants, snaring enemies with vines creeping from the floor or walls, or perhaps by creating trees under his feet to reach better positions.

Biography: Born older brother to Morris Vashden Euez and as the eldest of the Euez lineage, Aris was nonetheless passed over as the heir to the lineage, after Mor was thought to be much more promising. He was relegated to a retainer position at the age of three, when his brother was born, but he took pride in his job.

Then their city, Duskmantle, was attacked, and Mor was plagued. He escaped the plague's influence, or so he thought - he ended up mutating physically, where he developed his green, leathery skin, and his horns. As he was working in a garden at the time of the attack, the plague ended nudging his powers into the plant-based power he has now.

As Mor lost his abilities, he was reluctantly promoted to heir to the bloodline, as it was either the family would have no heir and lose standing, have a powerless heir and lose standing, or take a risk on Aris. He agreed, and all the while tried to help Mor regain his abilities, but Mor did not seem to care in the slightest.

When his brother was sent off to study with the Vorel, Aris stayed and took charge of the defense of their home city as was his responsibility, all the while looking for a way to help his brother back into the family. But as time passed, he grew to accept that his brother was better off where he was, as it gave him some place to belong, as opposed to this current place. As such, time passed until he was eighteen - simply living day-to-day, tending to his personal garden, repelling the occasional invader, human or non-human, and growing both more powerful and more respected in the community as both a fearsome warrior and a friendly figure for anyone to turn to. He also ended up with quite a number of "night friends," as he liked to call them - "friends of any kind willing to share a bed and warmth."

Then he heard of the accident that happened to Mor, and he immediately left to track him down. The process was long and arduous, but he managed to get to him... after several years.

Aris found himself tracking Mor down all the way to Starlight Academy, and found out that Mor had long ago abandoned all ties with him. He was heartbroken for a while, after learning that the man he pursued all the way to a different realm for nearly a decade cared not for him, but he refused to surrender, and took up a post at the academy as a professor of botany, a field where he had a definitive advantage.

Every now and then he regrets leaving his home to pursue a disinterested brother, and every now and then he tends to be lonely, but he quickly warmed up to life at Manta Carlos, and considers his decision to be the right one, as he could now start a more peaceful life, and observe / keep his brother in check.

Additional Information:
Aris has no permanent residence, strangely enough; he just camps out at various places and uses public facilities. Now that he has a steady salary though, he's looking for a place to live.
