Appearance Description: He's a key. A silver key. His body is almost standard, with a circular head and an almost perfectly smooth and cylindrical shaft. The very tip is red, with a faint, pulsating glow. Instead of a hole for a keyring there is a small slit, and lining his shaft is a multitude of thin blue lines pulsing with magic. The slit is capable of opening and closing, and with magic allows speech.
Personality Description: Freddy is a headstrong key, as is required because there is little else for a key to be. Whenever something catches his interest he has no hesitation whatsoever in making that interest clear. As such, he has a bit of a mischievous and shameless streak, along with a flirtatious nature. He does, however, when drunk or depressed, become intensely philosophical and bitter. As someone living on borrowed life, he has the greatest respect for life. However, he is willing to fight and hurt others if need be (for whatever good it does him - a key doesn't exactly do much damage).

Freddy is, strictly speaking, a key that was designed to be able to slip through every lock. Originally, he was only to be enchanted with that purpose in mind, but the lonely magician that made him was drunk and decided to give him artificial life. The process was half - assed and instead of being able to have a human form to move in as was intended, Freddy instead gained the ability to move himself by simply floating physically along the three axes of space. The original enchantment that gave him mild transformative abilities was successful and as such he can adjust his form to fit any lock or opening.
Biography: Frederick "Freddy" Plott came about from a magician contracted by a thief in Manta Carlos to construct a key that opens every lock. The job was almost successful, but then in a fit of loneliness the magician got drunk and decided to give the key life to have a companion of his own. In the drunken stupor instead of creating an artificial woman with a submissive nature the magician accidentally created a headstrong male personality that failed to manifest in a different form other than a key.
In fact, the entire fiasco was much more complicated than that. While the mage thought it had from scratch created a soul, that was drunken self-flattery. What in fact happened was that in his drunken stupor, he managed to summon a demon, and accidentally seal it into the key. The key was never meant to even be capable of moving, even if he succeeded - the fact that it could move and have some semblance of personality was a testament to the demon's power.
The demon's powers were mostly sealed into the key, granting its unlocking enchantment even greater power. However, its memories were sealed as well, and all it remembered of itself was that it, Feanon, had a name that started with F.
In anger the mage tried to scrap the key and melt it down, but Freddy had other plans. When the mage passed out of drunken exhaustion he snuck out and floated for his life, dodging alley cats and whiskers and the occasional scavenger.
The more he grew accustomed to his body, the more he recovered and mastered his new form. But his memories eluded him still, and he lived as best he could, slowly regaining his own personality.
For seven years he hid, all the while unlocking more and more of his capabilities, while discovering his penchant for "unlocking" other things. He was still lost however. But he refused to let things stay as such forever; knowing that most of the magic in Manta Carlos was concentrated within Starlight, he floated to its gates over the course of several days and using his magic to open them. The stunt caught the attention of the administration, and he was, after much confusion, allowed to enroll as a student.
