Personality
Quiet - Yasmin can be the quiet sort. That's not to say she's shy or introverted. She prefers to be surrounded by friends to listen to their conversation and occasionally comment. When in a conversation, she's actually quite good at keeping it flowing and won't shy away from good company. The loudest she is is when she's in a debate, in which case she tries to remain respectful, but can sometimes lose confidence and back down too quickly. She is most confident at debating when not being crowded and she feels like she has proper time to think through her responses.
Designer - Yasmin can usually be seen with a sketchpad in her hand. She enjoys people-watching and sketching basic versions of their figures to put clothing over. This is especially true for those with very inhuman physiology. She finds it the most satisfying to figure out ways to create stylish clothing anyone could wear. While her drawings of people may not be the most detailed on anatomically correct, the clothes she puts on them is where her artistic talent really shines.
Inhuman Rights - Yasmin is an avid believer that the supernatural should not be forced into hiding because of the feelings of humans. She believes that while human laws may work well as a common denominator for most citizens here, some things should be loosened. Due to being raised here, she views the culture here to be too human, from the way some people view relationships to food.
Some examples are how people have human beauty standards where they are more willing to insult and discriminate against those who aren't not human enough. As someone who is noticeably not-human and could barely be seen as one at first look, she has experienced plenty of instances where people have called her unattractive, or at the very least, gave her plenty of weird looks.
Another example would be how people are rude to those with different dietary needs, like treating the act of sucking blood from the source as romantic when to plenty of vampires it isn't or cannibals who work within the laws being "savage."
A big point she likes to bring up is the dangers of not letting the mundane know about supernaturals, like how to avoid falling into a fae court. By sectioning off Manta Carlos from the rest of the world, more harm is being done, all in an attempt to avoid temporary discrimination battles.
Biography
Yasmin was born on Manta Carlos island as the youngest member of her family. She has a mom, dad, and two older brothers in their adult years. Her main hobby was designing clothes for the inhuman and perhaps becoming a model herself. That's why she took an internship at Theia when she submitted an application and she saw her potential.
The breaking of the Veil was never the most important thing to Yasmin. Throughout her life on the island, the feeling of being suffocated grew and grew but never got to a point where she felt like she could do anything. She wasn't immortal, everyone else seemed content with the Veil, and she was too young to make any real change.
Then came the monster invasion, which was revealed to be creatures from an alternate universe running wild and scared on Manta Carlos. An alternate universe where the Veil didn't exist. Where the supernatural could explore the world as much as they liked and humans interacted with them as neighbors. No doubt there would be some xenophobia, no one had to tell Yasmin that, but it was still better than being trapped here. Knowing she either has to hide herself to see the rest of the world and live a lie or live trapped for the rest of her life.
That's when Yasmin became more devoted to the idea of advocating for the breaking of the Veil. Once she had a dream of being a fashion designer for those with extremely inhuman physiologies, now she imagined herself as being a politician. The politician who would lead the supernaturals into an open world. Yes, there would be hardships, xenophobia, and violence, but that's how all history was when peace was the goal. Now you can regularly see her at protests or working on methods to help take down the Veil when she's older.
