Appearance Description : Ji Hye has long waist-length black hair. There are faint streaks of grey running through it due to stress from her powers. She has light colored skin and dark brown eyes. She is five feet tall.
She normally wears a uniform consisting of a blazer, blouse, and a skirt that falls just above her kneecaps. The blouse is plain white while the blazer is black. Her skirt is plaid with three colors -beige mostly, and asparagus green and white. She also has recently gained an angelforged water lily from Eric Tenebre that she wears tucked behind her ear.
Personality Description : Ji Hye is a very shy and easily frightened person. She is often nervous and voluntarily solitary. Frequently, she can be observed muttering to herself or even outright shouting at seemingly nothing. She is very jumpy and tends not to stick around any place for very long.
Major Power : Soul Chaining - Ji Hye has the ability to chain other spirits to her soul. None of these are human, though, because Ji Hye can’t see ghosts. Therefore, this ability is largely restricted to purely supernatural spirits such as minor elementals, wraiths, household guardians, and tsukumogami. The chain can only be made through mutual consent on both sides. Technically. That’s not always what really happens. By chaining spirits to her soul, Ji Hye gains access to their power. However, she cannot use this power in any conscious way. The power of chained spirits really only serves as an alternate form of sustenance that allows Ji Hye to survive through extreme conditions and sometimes temporarily ignore major injury. Basically, it keeps her body just barely alive. Spirits that are chained to her also gain the ability to take over Ji Hye’s body when her own soul is too weak to keep hold of it. The spirits are all unable to harm Ji Hye due to the chaining but they are still free to do anything else within their normal limitations. Although, since being chained to Ji Hye shifts spirits to a slightly different sub-plane, they are often unable to do real harm to the living unless they are powerful enough to make the short leap between sub-planes. These spirits also have their voices and emotions amplified by the chaining, which often causes Ji Hye to be extremely agitated at all times. The chains, to the extent of Ji Hye’s knowledge, are unfortunately permanent and starting to grate on her sanity. Since Ji Hye can only connect with spirits from a particular sub plane, most summoners and other people with spiritual abilities are also unable to see the spirits chained to her. However, they are often able to sense them. Since the collective presence is often hostile and malevolent, most of these types of people keep away from her.
Minor Power : Dark Sight - Ji Hye can see and hear spirits clearly. She cannot, however, see or hear the ghosts of deceased people.
Discovered when : Ji Hye had always possessed Dark Sight. Seeing spirits was second nature to her while growing up. She discovered her ability to Spirit Chain later on.
Discovered how : When Ji Hye was nine,she was caught in a car accident that killed her parents and ruptured her internal organs. A spirit that was traveling through the area at the time came to her as she lay dying and offered to save her life. Ji Hye immediately accepted without thinking. Often, she finds herself regretting that decision.
How/Why they have it : Dark Sight has been in Ji Hye’s maternal family for generations. There are a few reports of it appearing in her paternal family as well but it seems that her father’s half more often than not has a supreme affinity for drawing supernatural danger to themselves. Ji Hye’s ability to Soul Chain is likely a mutation of that trait.

Biography : Ji Hye’s mother was half Japanese and half Korean, with the Japanese part having a long history of producing mikos. Ji Hye’s father was half Korean and half Chinese, with both halves being notoriously unlucky. Up until his own death, it had seemed like the tendency had skipped his generation. Growing up with the two of them, Ji Hye often found herself moving from place to place both because of her parent’s professions as well as to evade spirits that had been pursuing her family for generations. She spent her first five years moving between Seoul and different parts of Korea. After her sixth birthday, she and her parents moved to Nanjing, where they stayed for five months. That would be the longest they would ever stay in a single city ever again. At the time of her parents’ deaths, they were driving to Kyouto.
Additional Information: Ji Hye is very careful around other people with powers. Since she suspects that she might be legitimately dead and only puppeting around her corpse wrapped in spiritual essence, she is very afraid of the possibility of meeting somebody with a power negation ability. She isn’t sure if that would kill her or not. She is also terrified of meeting with people who are telepathic or empathic because of what the spirits chained to her might do to them. Actually, she’s afraid of everybody in general because while the spirits are bound to do her no harm, there is nothing that allows her to control them at all.

1. Shourou : 鐘楼 : The Bell Tower The first spirit that Ji Hye chained. It is a gashadokuro or, in simple terms, a giant starving skeleton that eats people. Shourou is constantly trying to devour people around Ji Hye. It is named after the place where Ji Hye met is as well as the sound it makes whenever it attempts to take over Ji Hye’s body to eat somebody.

2. Mengyan : 夢魘 : The Nightmare A akaname or a filth licker spirit. It is red and enjoys tormenting Ji Hye. It is not a particularly powerful spirit and really only holds talent in being frightening.

3. Leolkeo : 럴커 : The Lurker A tsuchigumo or dirt spider spirit. It sometimes takes the shape of a giant spider hidden by darkness but more often than not, it adopts a human torso and arms. It's traditional form has a tiger's body, a human torso, and spider limbs. It enjoys devouring things as much as Shourou does and often gets into arguments with it over the subject.

4. Talag : 타락 : The Corruption An amanojaku or heavenly evil spirit. It is the most evil of the spirits that Ji Hye has chained and actively influences other people to commit evil deeds. It is often restrained by other spirits. Since it is also one of the most powerful of the chained spirits, this takes quite a few other spirits to do so. It has been hunting her mother's family for generations.

5. Yeoleot : 여럿 : The Many A mokumokuren or many eyes spirit. It is really a collection of spirits that functions as a single entity. It is mute but unnerving.

6. Oppa : 오빠 : The Older Brother An enera or smoke monster that takes the form a human and can supposedly only be seen by the pure of heart. It is one of the most moral spirits that Ji Hye is chained to but has little power.

7. Aoi no Ue : 青い上 : The Lady Blue A nure onna or wet woman spirit. It has the body of a large serpent and the head of a woman. It likes to drink blood but doesn't particular care about eating the body afterwards. Therefore it gets along well with Shourou and the tsuchigumo. It is named exactly the way that it wants Ji Hye to refer to it as.

8. Xunhuan : 循環 : The Recurrence A bulgasari or iron eating monster. It has the body of a bear, the nose of an elephant, the eyes of a rhino, needlelike fur, the tail of a cow, and the legs of a tiger. It has a childish mentality but also a childish sense of cruelty, not being able to tell right from wrong.

9. Hitori: 一人 : The Single Person A qilin or Asian unicorn. It is the one of the most powerful spirits that Ji Hye is chained to but is also quite neutral and uninterested in her. It is much more intent on combating the rest of the more evil chained spirits. Ji Hye named it based on the fact that she is only ever really alone in her mind anymore because it keeps the other spirits back. It has the head of a dragon, the antlers of a deer, the skin and scales of a fish, the hooves of an ox and the tail of a lion.

10. Gom Gajug : 곰가죽 : The Bearskin A yaoguai or malevolent animal spirit. It takes the form of a black bear with empty eyes. It is mute but not soundless and acts hostile to anything it encounters, whether or not it can see it or not. It has shown up several times in the history of her father's family.

11. Imouto : 妹 : The Little Sister A zashiki warashi or childlike household spirit. It is very playful but is often too frightened by the other spirits to do anything. Ever since its original family converted to Catholicism and gained a guardian angel, it's been somewhat pushed into the background of things and therefore was delighted to be able to follow Ji Hye around.

12. Kyoushi Sama : 教師様 : The Esteemed Teacher A bakeneko spirit or cat spirit. It is very lazy and quiet but can be malicious in its own way. It is often not helpful and content to simply criticize.
