It was winter in Manta Carlo, snowflakes fell from the sky and landed on the frozen lake. It was 9pm and local students were ready to head to their dorms. Well, except for one. Once the last person was gone, a girl at about sixteen or seventeen headed towards the frozen lake with skates in one hand. The girl was five feet and six inches tall, she was of Asian and European descent with almond-shaped green eyes and short blue hair. She was wearing a long-sleeved white-knit sweater, with dark blue jeans and black boots, her Polaroid camera was fastened around her neck. Her name was Serena Serenity Steele, she was a junior at Starlight Academy but a shy one at that. While her grades were average, her social life was below average. She didn't have any friends at the Academy, there was this one guy named Korite, but she has never seen him again.

Taking her boots off, she slipped the skates on and struggled to stand up. After barely regaining control over her posture, she placed her hand on the railing and slowly walked towards the frozen lake. After making it, she skated around it a bit before doing a small spin. As much as the high school junior wanted to be around, she seeked close companionship. It would be nicer if I had friends to skate with me... She thought, lifting her leg above her head and her arms up. Pulling on her lifted leg, she performed the Biellman spin while spinning four times. Serenity stopped and skated around the rink while jumping in the air and spinning. Serenity stopped and begun spinning five times in the middle of the rink. Once she stopped, she bowed to an invisible audience, only to find a figure there. Gasping, she straightened up and skated over to the railing, "I-I'm sorry, I'll leave!" She apologized.

An Nam Il

The campus was already clearing out as people either shuffled to back to their rooms or flocked to the local bars. Nam Il, however, was lone wolfing it that night, since he hadn't really found a crowd for himself yet. It would have been nice to have somebody else to explore the nighttime campus with but as long as he had a decent source of light on hand -which was always- he wasn't going to let the lack of company stop him.

Flashlight in hand, he began his campus crawl under a sky full of stars and airplanes. It was freezing out, with a bit of snow on the ground. Just the sort of weather that he'd like to take a lantern around in but he guessed it probably wouldn't have been the best idea to do that alone. There was just no telling who he'd run into, even with the Academy as safe as it was, and the lake was more on the outer fringes anyways but he had promised the people back home to send pictures and there was nothing nicer than moonlight off of the ice.

As he watched, Nam Il thought he saw something spinning on the lake in the distance. Thinking that it might be really unusual, he quickly stomped over to have a look, the snow turning to clumps of slush under his feet. There was a girl on the lake, he saw once he got to the lake's edge. Never having done any ice skating before, Nam Il decided that she must have been near professional levels after just a few minutes. Oh, I wonder if I should take a picture of this? Would it be rude to? Or would it just be taken as flattering?

He argued with himself a little but soon enough, it seemed like she had finished up and solved the problem for him. "Huh? Wait, no! I just have some questions, if you don't mind?" He wasn't trying to make her run away! He hadn't even done anything yet!
