There were a few who Lenn saw potential in. That was great! Sure, everyone was gifted here on this special island, but there were those who could excel past the 'special' and become something more. Yuzuru was a very polite and serious bloke. He could learn to relax a little, but she wasn't about to complain. He was one of the most dedicated students out of all the class. There was a bit of animosity brewing against him, but that was natural. This class was more like a competition between all of them. Who was going to be able to stay? Who was going to drop out? Tune in for the next episode of--
"Thas' great!" she gave him a hearty slap on the back. "Oy' look forward t'seein' you there." Lenn had high hopes for the kid. He had even asked her to keep the range open for some practice after classes and lunch to which she happily obliged. In fact, he was the only one who requested extra time. The others were either too tired or too lazy to even bother. The potential was real here.
Eventually Friday came up, the very last day for students to prepare for the inevitable. The students were to begin rigorous physical training for the first month. The next, they were able to handle the firearms and other weaponry under her supervision. After that, it was the final week where Lenn was to separate the wheat from the chaff. As usual, she ran the class through the usual lectures on safety and cardio. She also reminded them that it was highly recommended they bring extra clothes from then on out-- whatever old raggedy-ass shirts and shorts they could find or else their new clothes would be sorry.
Almost everyday, Yuzuru stayed behind in order to sharpen up his skills while he killed time for his next class to start. Today was no different. "Gonna go at it again todai?" she asked as she gathered up some empty paper cups on the refreshments table and dumped them into the trash. Normally she'd just go about her business cleaning up the range, but this time, she actually wanted to see how much he improved.
