Treasurer was not the rank she'd aimed for, but it was the rank she'd gotten. Realistically speaking, Anastasia couldn't really say she was disappointed with it. She was a new arrival at the school, still didn't know people all that well, and wasn't even in college yet. She had a rather rosy idea of what the student council would be like, and was rather convinced that it would for the most part be made up of college students. In retrospect, it was a silly thought, since college students would by nature be the busiest students of the lot.

She'd arrived a good hour early, having already put together a revised version of the budget based on the notes she'd been given by the last treasurer, and settled into the room that had been designated the council room. She was there bright and early, well before anyone else was, and was eager to see just who would be there. Probably Morgan. Maybe Marina, who had apparently been supported by Morgan as well. Maybe even the little girl - although Anastasia didn't think there was actually a 'grade school representative'. Maybe she'd push for that. It seemed like it would be intelligent to have a representative, and guarantee at least one from each school on the council.

Pham Thi Anh Sang

Yes, yes, yes, yes! Anh Sang had been maybe doubting if she'd win any rank on the council at all. The fact that she definitely, most certainly, nobody-could-take-it-back-because-it-had-already-been-done-absolutely become president was like taking a dragon and riding it out into the sunset. It was a~ma~zing~! Ever since the votes had come in, she hadn't stopped skipping down the hallways.

It was time to work, though! Or, at least, figure out who else she was supposed to be doing things with. She bumped the door to the meeting room open with a cheerful, almost violently enthusiastic fist and danced right in, surrounded by a gaggle of light. The girl had to squint through it all to see who was actually present.

"Oh, it's you! Hi, hi!" Anh Sang grinned at the familiar blonde there, waving with both arms over her head. She felt a little weird to see that there wasn't a Morgan there but tried to blow it off for now. Morgan wasn't always later than her when it came to getting to places but there was a first for everything.

Morgan was never late, except for this time when she was late. She had been stopped on the way to the first meeting of the new Student Council by an annoying salesperson from the school, and of course she had to listen to everything he had to say, she couldnt afford to lose any popularity.

She arrived at the designated meeting place and set her bag down by her seat. Her school uniform was as perfect as ever.

"Hello Anh Sang, Anastasia, I suppose now we simply wait for everyone else to get here?"

Anastasia wasn't terribly surprised when Sang burst in, although it did leave her wondering. Maybe she'd managed to gain the secretary position? Hopefully she was a bit more focused on writing than she'd been on hot chocolate.

Even so, she greeted the young girl with a smile, hoping that she wouldn't have long to wait. Thankfully, she didn't. Morgan showed up only a minute late, and Anastasia gave her a prompt wave as she settled into her seat.

"I imagine. That's assuming everyone is coming - I heard last term there was an issue with attendance?" From what she'd heard, there had been two people in her spot, and one of them hadn't shown up at all.

Pham Thi Anh Sang

"Big sis!" Momentarily abandoning Anastasia, Anh Sang skipped over to Morgan as she entered, delivering a small, manufactured crowd as she did. "I knew you'd be here!" She said with a grin. "You're totally my vice president, right? Then we can do everything together just like with the elections!" Then, remembering the blonde girl there, she tugged urgently at Morgan's sleeve in her direction. "And that's Anastasia over there! She helped me with stuff before, kinda!"

This was actually really important. Anh Sang just wanted her friends to get along, even if she didn't know Anastasia that well or even that long. But they had a decent time so they were totally, completely friends, just not besties like her and Morgan.

"Ah yes, I know Anastasia already." the two of them had planned a good political platform together, one that she planned on acting apon now that she had become the Vice President of Starlight Academy.

Morgan pulled out the vice presidents chair, it was actually her chair from last term just moved into the vice presidents seat, they where all the same so it didnt really matter, plus Morgan had really worn in the chair.

"So whats our first order of buisness?"

Wait on, hold the phone. Anastasia was not easily surprised, but what Sang had just said was very surprising. Maybe she'd misheard? Maybe this was some kind of confusing misunderstanding? Maybe she meant the council's vice president.

Probably best to get that out of the way.

"I missed the official designated results. Who took which position?" Hopefully Morgan was the president, and Sang was mistaken, only Morgan hadn't corrected her... well, it was odd, to say the least.

"I've already met the two of you - although I don't think I know any of the other council members." Or if she did, they hadn't made it obvious that they were campaigning.

Pham Thi Anh Sang

Anh Sang bounced a little, undeterred by Anastasia’s not understanding. “Well, I won just like I said I would!” She said proudly. “It was pretty tough because Big Sis here was also running and had tons of experience doing stuff but I met a lot of nice people and they helped me a little. Some were running, too, so it was really nice of them. Anyways, I’m totally president and Big Sis is my vice president and now we can do everything together before she graduates!”

Then suddenly serious, she told Anastasia, “But I’m very happy to see you, too! I think you’re the person who takes notes and stuff, right? It’s um.” Anh Sang thought for a moment before snapping her fingers. Trying to, anyways. It mostly made a bit of a dull sound and hurt a little. “Secretary! That’s it! I don’t have any idea who the other people are but I hope they were Wei and Marina. I think Marina pulled out right at the end, though, so.” She had kind of been hoping that Marina would be on the council because she was super cool and Anh Sang didn’t really get to do things with her. But maybe later they could hang out and stuff.

“Anyways, we can probably start if they don’t come really soon!” She decided. She was president now, so that meant people had to do what she said, right?

It was a little bit embarrassing that Morgan had lost to an 11 year old, but there was no other 11 year old shed rather lose to than Anh Sang. She was initially very shocked when she had lost, but she eventually became fine with it, she would serve as Anh Sangs vice president proudly until she eventually graduated.

"I think it will be alright if we start now, if they show up later we can fill them in on everything weve discussed."

Morgan cleared her throat.

"So first order of buis-..."

Oh. She wasnt President anymore, that wasnt her job. She felt a little sad at that.

She had won. It took Anastasia a moment to process that, to connect the dots and realize that she didn't mean she'd won as in 'she'd gotten a place on the council', but instead she'd won as in 'she was the head of the council'.

Oh.

Even Anastasia - normally blank and emotionless as anything - showed a reaction to that. Her eyebrows went up, eyes wide as she tried to process it.

"I... no. I'm the treasurer. I handle money and financials." Which was a good life lesson sort of thing, wasn't it? "Our secretary appears to not be here yet." Not exactly an impressive start. "I don't see why we shouldn't start, though." There was no point in holding up the whole council. Probably they had a good reason for not being there, or had missed the notification. It didn't really matter either way.

"That said, so far Morgan is the only person who has been on the student council before, yeah?"
