Please put in your nominations for the monthly Spotlights! Nominations will remain open until the 15th of the following month, at which point voting will open based on your nominations! Winners get a special banner under their avatar, can claim a medal, and can PM Kyros during their month for a special cbox name color! They also get a super cool writeup recognizing their accomplishments in our monthly announcements.

Why you think they deserve the spotlight: A returning member from so long ago. I didn't know them personally back then, but from what I've seen of their attitude in the cbox, Nael has been very friendly with people and seems to be getting back into the swing of things. So here's a shout out for that.

Spotlight Character: Andre Medows

Why you think they deserve the spotlight: Maybe this is a really silly reason, but I just like the groove/personality of this character while reading over his profile. This is @Andre Meadows first character, but I can tell they put effort and love into him. He seems like he's gonna be great to see in action and I hope to see him around in threads or in the icc box.

Spotlight Plot: Valli's love life

Explain the plot in a paragraph for those who aren't familiar: Valli realizes how lonely he is after the Au simulation in which everyone is thrown into a post-apocalyptic setting and Valli falls head over heels with the main antagonist of the game. Coming to this realization, Valli decides to play God and pay a hefty sum of money to make Gask a reality. And then came Lawrence Gask. Fun plot times with @Romi and @Kadakism.

Why you think it deserves the spotlight: Honestly, this plot is just flipping hilarious to me because I didn't expect it at all. It's made for some awesome character creation/development and a great show of hypocrisy from Valli. "Don't do something life impacting on a whim!"

Spotlight Member: @Védé

Why you think they deserve the spotlight: Védé has only been a member since Monday. And yet, even being a newbie, Védé has accomplished a lot of exceptional work. They've already jumped into multiple plots, made an original, creative character, and roleplayed in fluent English despite speaking French.

Kudos to Védé.

Spotlight Character: Riley Keegan
Why you think they deserve the spotlight: Riley is a hilarious and spirited character, and I'm very much enjoying her plots with my character Sofia at present.

Spotlight Plot: Caius & Sofia
Explain the plot in a paragraph for those who aren't familiar: Caius rescued Sofia from a life of confusion and isolation when she turned werewolf. Sofia has developed a major crush on Caius and goes through lots of romantic tension before finally revealing her feels.

Why you think it deserves the spotlight: I've so enjoyed working on this plot with Saber. It's funny and cute and romantic and my favorite plot so far~

Why you think they deserve the spotlight: Izuna is a relatively new player who is already pretty active and friendly in the CBox and around the site. She has a character with a really cool concept (a spirit who isn’t aware they’re a spirit), very pretty original art, and plots that are just getting on their feet!

Spotlight Character: Theodora Katsoufis

Why you think they deserve the spotlight: @Boop ‘s Dora is a tragically adorable Demigod with a unique set of powers. However, instead of wanting to see her cry, I just want this poor babe to find some happiness. Please love this broken child.

Spotlight Plot: What Color is This Vase?

Explain the plot in a paragraph for those who aren't familiar: When Lochlann arrives at the office of Dr. Brown, high, confused, and colorblind, William takes the opportunity to attempt to feed on the vulnerable patient. I don’t want to spoil the hilarity that ensues, but it definitely involves a predictable escape method, a stolen vase, and Lochlann just wanting to get some goddamn sleep.

Why you think it deserves the spotlight: Reading these threads is one of the best things I’ve had the pleasure of experiencing. The comedy is so well-written that I even laughed out loud a few times. William’s usually calm demeanor stands out in stark contrast against the loose cannon that is Lochlann Cabyll-Ushtey, highlighting some of the most interesting aspects about both of these characters. @ReD and @Boop are amazing writers, and I’m excited to see what comes next in this kooky plot.

Why you think they deserve the spotlight: Good god Saylin's a fast poster! They've got a growing stable of characters with tons of variety, have jumped into a ton of plots, and they're always super active around the site.

Spotlight Character: Izuna
Why you think they deserve the spotlight: Izuna the character has a really interesting plot, and is already actively engaging in a bunch of plots. The idea of a spirit who doesn't realize they're just a spirit and not a human is super interesting to me!

Spotlight Plot: I'm going to shamelessly second Foxy's nomination, but I'm going to title it
You're a real boy now, Gask

Explain the plot in a paragraph for those who aren't familiar: Gask isn't supposed to be real. He's supposed to be an AI in a VR sim. Only, lonely, desperate, and wanting a better life for him, Valli ends up buying the AI, removing the limiters that keep it from being completely sentient, and dropping it in a body modeled after it's own.

It goes as poorly as you'd expect.

Even so, Gask rises to the occasion, adapting to his environment splendidly. He's making friends, enrolling himself in school, and functioning far better then most would.

Link any relevant threads (especially recent ones): In addition to the above, Not While I'm around, a super cute thread with Gask and Theodora, and At least her face is familiar where Gask meets someone he knew in the AU.

Why you think it deserves the spotlight: I looooove spontaneous plots that pop out of nowhere with no planning. I sure as hell didn't plan for any of this and Kada sure didn't either, but it's so dang fun.

She's a pleasant presence in the cbox and seems to be a good ranger too. Plus she's got pretty art and lovely characters.

Spotlight Character: Valli Bryndísarson

Why you think they deserve the spotlight:
Aside from that they're human enough to make mistakes and going through a lot of character develpment right now. Romi has been doing very well at writing a therapist that actually uses therapy to help people and doesn't rely on any magical quick fixes.

Spotlight Plot: Clipped Wings

Explain the plot in a paragraph for those who aren't familiar:
After Jake experiences a prophetic dream of Liz dying on the floor, Liz, Soren, and Yoka are kidnapped by an unknown man - a torturer and serial killer.

Why you think it deserves the spotlight:
Saber has been working on this plot for a long time, it's nice to see the start of what promises to be a very character developing arc. Things look grim for these three characters - what will happen next?
