"It can be difficult not to lie if you're too proud to admit not having all the answers. There is a reason that misinformation is contagious."

Name: Sorceare
Age: 39
Birthday: December 2
Gender: Male
Species: He doesn't say.
Career: Walmart cashier

Appearance Description:
Sorceare is a tanned man who looks to be in his late 20's, about 6'1 in height and of a wide-shouldered, lean build, appearing healthy but neither noticeably fat nor muscular. He has blue, slightly narrow eyes and high cheekbones, and aside from being marginally tall-chested, having slightly large ears that turned up into points at the tips, and a slight greenish cast and waxy texture to his skin he appears outwardly human. When cut, he bleeds green.

Sorceare has dark brown hair which is grown out to halfway down his neck in the back, unevenly and unprofessionally cut all around, and the same general style is reflected in his choice of clothing, which generally consists of tee shirts, hoodies or long sleeved shirts of varying shades and patterns of grey, black and white on special occasions and simple colors or patterns when he can't find anything else he'd prefer, faded blue jeans or black slacks, and sometimes a beige fedora with a checkered when he bothers to find wherever it's gone off to. Generally his outfits, though kept clean, give little attention to making an effort at style, and are chosen measuring comfort and convenience against caution and practicality. There are few occasions on which he wears anything worthy of note, hat aside, although a simple helmet and kevlar vest, which he's spray painted black, have come into his possession and are currently sitting in the closet of the small apartment space he's rented. At work, he wears the usual walmart uniform, but since he lives within a few minutes walking distance of work, he often goes home to change before doing anything else. He does not have a driver's license and cars are a bit out of his price range, in general.

Sorceare carries himself tall and proudly, moves efficiently, and shows little expression in face or voice.

Personality Description:

Sorceare is a quiet, shy being, suffering from debilitating social anxiety and a deep-rooted inferiority complex. Given that he is very hesitant to react in any distinctly emotional way to whatever is going on around him, this may well be his most obvious trait. In spite of this he has convinced himself he is rather arrogant and sarcastic due to his father's perception of him and thus has become so.

He has a habit of 'overthinking' things, and getting frustratingly nowhere by it. Advanced mathematics, anything beyond basic calculus, escape his very limited attention span which is something he finds infuriating, and though he generally behaves calmly and tries to 'play the computer' in terms of choosing his actions, when he has no intention of being helpful, trying to impress his peers or merely being a neurotic little perfectionist trying to deal with his own self-doubt he is quite careless and often behaves irrationally.

At times Sorceare is stubborn beyond all reason, normally when he is overly stressed, tired, or otherwise not mentally at his peak, though normally he allows himself to be pushed around and prefers to be told to do things rather than to act on his own initiative. When physically confronted if he believes he has an advantage, and that the immediate risk to himself is suitably low, he will often resort to violence. He is an imaginative fellow, secretly, and will sometimes amuse himself by thinking up little stories or rhymes. He does not own a television set, but can occasionally be seen at movie theaters and is fond of the action and comedy genres. Sorceare is also particularly friendly towards cats, dogs, and domestic mice.

Powers:
"They sometimes say one's mind is one's greatest weapon.":
A. Contact telepathy: Sorceare is capable of, through direct physical contact, freely transmitting thoughts between himself and another being. He is rather unpracticed at this, and it requires a large amount of concentration on his part. Not only can his attempts at this be 'rejected' if the being he's attempting to read the mind of in this way somehow outwits him or simply has a particularly strong will, but doing so risks his own mind, making it vulnerable to those involved whether they have similar abilities or not, and in extreme cases could potentially end in his death. Perhaps it's fortunate he's very private about his thoughts.

"I, however prefer my fists." :

A. Increased strength: Sorceare is deceptively strong, quite a bit more so than a human of equal build would be. Though this tends to make heavy lifting and moving furniture around a lot faster as he doesn't need to get help for it and making additional trips to carry things is generally unnecessary for him, but his record lifting things is about 300 lbs, and he doesn't feel like risking his back trying to beat that anytime soon.

Species Abilities:
Sorceare is mildly resistant to hot weather and sunburning, however he doesn't tolerate the cold well.

Sorceare's eyes have a nictitating membrane, protecting them from bright lights and small windblown debris while when used only slightly obscuring vision.

Sorceare can go without sleep for many consecutive days, but it isn't healthy for him to do so.

Sorceare's sense of smell is strong.

Biography: Sorceare arrived here by way of an accident involving an irritable, dimension-traveling entity, a missing pet cat, and other details that seem a confused blur to him now.

He was born in the future of an alternate reality to a family that was considered rather strange and backwards, living on a spacecraft that, though possessing some weapons and decent shielding, was primarily used as a freighter. He lived with his mother and a few of her friends, and most of the beings he dealt with regularly were of entirely different species and from entirely different worlds. The crew was a rather notoriously rough tempered one and consisted of a few small families. The vessel didn't belong to any larger company and repairs were underfunded and cobbled together when needed, at best, but Sorceare spent most of his childhood on it, other small space vessels and on space stations.

Fortunately in the alternate reality from which Sorceare came said ships and stations simulated gravity and planetside conditions fairly well, or he might not have been able to walk on a planet -Earth, although a very different earth than the one we know and love- for the first time when he was sixteen. His father had been manager of a small business down on Earth, and upon seeing an opportunity to meet his son and perhaps reunite with a former romantic interest of his, Sorceare's mother, he went to see them at the soonest opportunity. Sorceare's father began disapproving of him almost instantly, which caused conflict between both of Sorceare's parents, and Sorceare was taken away from his mother for a time.

Sorceare's father disapproved of Sorceare's behavior the most, as the lad was prone to flights of fancy, running with impossible ideas, and generally giving in to emotion rather than carefully measuring risk and reward most of the time and that was something that his father never would have allowed. They argued a lot, sometimes got into physical fights, and eventually, faced with the challenge of reasoning with someone who was both clearly far more knowledgeable in the ways of the world and infinitely more stubborn than he was yet still hoping to repair relations between them, Sorceare began allowing himself to be 'retrained' to act and think how his father believed was the proper way to act and think. He made many human friends on earth, who found his difference from many of his kind to be endearing and attractively exotic, and they only reinforced Sorceare's 'old ways' of action and thinking, so his father tried to isolate him from distractions, trying to take the both of them off to a different planet altogether where the population were 'better influences', which simply in these circumstances meant that they were from the same culture and system of beliefs as Sorceare's father.

Trouble began when Sorceare's mother was not notified of his father's plans, and she, having great authority among the small, ragtag freighter crew she worked with, furiously pursued them through space, stealing back her son and killing her former mate in the process. It was unsafe for the crew to continue to deal with the nearby systems, and so it was another several years before Sorceare would have had an opportunity to go back. His mother bought him a kitten from another crew that had been on earth during this time, which quickly became the ship's mascot. Sorceare was relieved to be reunited with the people he'd grown up with, but the experiences he'd had during his youth were... traumatizing to say the least, and Sorceare's father had, intentionally or not, affected Sorceare's mind itself in such a way that he was never quite the strong-willed, confident, rough-and-tumble fellow he was as a child again.

If Sorceare learned anything in those days, it was how to lie and bluff. Bad idea to lie to a god... He is unsure of how exactly he managed to be tossed between entire dimensions, but this world doesn't always work in ways experience has taught him how to understand, and Sorceare has never been a very adaptable creature.

Additional Information: Sorceare has recently adopted a young, grey-furred maine coon tomcat. He's named him 'Mln' (Miln). Mln almost never leaves the apartment. They seem to understand one another well.
