"Bring in the boxes and set them over there, please," Celeste told the college students that had volunteered yesterday to help her bring things over to the command center that the city had set up.

"Don't worry about breaking anything, the boxes have been sealed magically and are protected against any major bumps or drops," she informed them as they placed the boxes one atop another in a corner out of the way.

Celeste had managed, with the help of her niece, the school and a few other people she knew, to gather together various items like warm gloves, hats, space blankets, warm fuzzy blankets, first aid kits, high caloric snacks, as well as some cups and mugs, and ingredients to make warm comforting beverages...

"Oh, and in the car, on the front seat, there is a blue binder with manuals on emergency procedures for extreme winter conditions," she told Sterling, who had offered to drive and drop, both her and Zoraida, off on his way to check that everything was okay at work and at Forest Respite, which was also being used as a place for people to go and stay at during the rather extreme and weird winter snowfall.

The Command Center was a hive of activity, but it was an organized sort of chaos. Those in charge were directing the various employees and volunteers in a mostly choreographed arrangement.

MCPD Cadet Arianell Vaughn had been assigned to logistics operations based out of the Command Center. The Cadets had been reassigned from their police academy courses to generally low-risk parts of the emergency efforts. Her abilities could make quick work of transporting manpower and supplies rapidly between locations.

"Ms. Forestier?" Aria called out as she approached and offered a hand to shake. She was dressed clearly in her MCPD Cadet winter uniform, though she had her bright green glowing halo out above her head instead of stowing it like she did a lot of the time. It would ensure she was easily identified in a crowd or out in the snow. "Cadet Arianell Vaughn. Thank you for assisting in gathering these supplies for the public. I'm here to help with getting these supplies out to where they're needed. We've got sector maps and a few spare radios. The hotline is ringing off the hook with requests." She was calm and professional as she looked over the incoming crates of supplies.

They would need more of the volunteers though to truly get things moving....

James Logan

James wasn't a college student but he'd still volunteered to help out during the snow storm. So he'd form a shadow portal to the meeting place near the community center and stepped out of it. Snow immediately fell onto his head and he'd brush it off, having been born in a hot climate snow was still a little foreign to him.

Sporting the group he'd step over to them, "Ms. Forester?" he'd nod to her and then to the police cadet. "I'm James Logan, I'm a volunteer, I'm here to help," his teleportation alone would be very useful. "What do you need first?"

He was dressed warmly of course, winter coat, flexible but warm gloves, jeans. He'd be able to help as well as keep from getting frostbite.

Usually, Krish didn't think he'd be helping out here, more like taking any warm drinks for himself. But after watching a bunch of college students bring in tons of boxes and working, while he was only leaving his seat on the couch to run and check on one nearby apartment he started feeling, well, lazy.

Yeah, maybe that was from thoughts of people around him, but he hated the feeling anyway and stood up. Besides, helping might get some help to his guardian, and he'd like to be the one doing that. After standing though, for a moment, he could only shift his weight uncertainly. There didn't... seem to any more help needed to bring in the supplies.

Before he could keep standing around looking confused, a girl with a green halo caught his eye, and, after hearing what she was explaining to a few others, he quickly rushed up to the small group, relief a little too clear on his face. Couldn't stand looking useless after he decided he was going to help. "You're all going to be giving out this stuff, right? So... we can volunteer to help out with that? I mean, I probably can find my way to a few of the places that'll need this stuff."

Celeste stopped directing boxes and supplies when Arianell, a cadet with the MCI, greeted her. "Nice to meet you, Miss Vaughan," Celeste replied with a smile, removing her gloves and offering her a hand in greeting.

"And you don't need to thank me," she told her warmly, "It's the very least we can do," she said as the boxes kept coming in. "There should be enough supplies for maybe, three, four hundred people..." she said, unsure of the exact number.

Turning slightly when she heard a young man address her, Celeste flashed him a smile, "Wonderful," she exclaimed happily, "Those boxes need to be opened and care packages made up," she explained. "Maybe Miss Vaughan can tell us what is needed in each sector and we can go from there?"

"There is everything from blankets and warm clothes, games and books to keep people entertained - my children suggested that," she told the group, "as well as some food and hot drinks we can warm for those who are stranded, helping outside or doing the snow removal," she explained, nodding politely at the newcomer when he too offered his services.

Aria shook Celeste's hand and smiled back. "Likewise. We still appreciate your assistance. You have brought quite a bit," she appraised as she took stock of the number of supplies there.

At the approach of the other two she nodded politely. "Hello Mr. Logan and....?" She turned to James and then Krish, who hadn't given a name yet.

"As Ms. Forestier indicated we have a large number of supplies gathered for distribution and we are going to bring them to those who need them. I do need the names of anyone volunteering so we know who we have out there. And of course an agreement that the supplies are to be given out to the proper people, but I shouldn't have to worry about that right?" Aria explained and looked between them all. Did she really expect people to come steal supplies in a situation like this? No, but it didn't hurt to play it safe. She'd know if someone was being deceitful though.

Aria Walked over to a nearby table and started laying out a map of the city. "After we have the supplies unpacked we can start going out to deliver them, starting with the older citizens and those with young children. I'm not sure what you all can do ability-wise but I can make portals to get you and or supplies to locations fairly rapidly. No one goes anywhere without a partner though." She was not necessarily in charge of the volunteers, but she was employed by the city and being given instructions from up the chain of command.

James Logan

He'd nod in agreement as Aria explained the operation. "We should get started then," they had a lot of people to help and the snow certainly wasn't stopping.

"I can make portals as well," he'd say with a nod, "so we should be able to get these all delivered quickly." The portals were definitely going to help pass out supplies. "I can also form tentacles so I'll be able to carry a lot of boxes at once."

Sprouting a few tentacles he'd start helping sort the boxes. "Just tell where I need to form the portals, I got a range of about a half a mile, but I can just hop through and form another to get to further locations."

"It's just Krish." He quickly gave his name when the woman paused. He frowned as she continued, before replying with a sigh. "Fine, won't take anything until things are done around here." That can't take too long, and he'll probably still get a box to bring where he wanted.

Flinching away from and pointing towards the guy, Logan or something, Krish added. "Uh, can't do any freaky stuff like that, or portals. Actually, you will not want most of powers, they're great in a lot of situations, but definitely not here." He looked down at his feet, an inch or two off the ground before he forced himself to go back to standing on the ground. Always started floating when he didn't pay attention. "Unless floating like that does something great for us."

With that he went to grab any of the nearby boxes the tentacle guy missed. Well, less grabbed, more pushed across the ground towards other boxes that looked similar. Might as well conserve some strength when he knew that carrying a bunch of stuff never was his strongest suit, but he decided to help so he couldn't go anywhere now. He'll just carry the boxes when absolutely necessary.

Celeste listened to each person and nodded thoughtfully, "Portalling is a great idea, we can get supplies out faster and to more people," she said as she glanced at Arianell and James.

"As for myself, I can heal people as well as also move things magically," she said lifting a clipboard to show what she meant.

"I'll basically go with whoever and possibly wherever help is needed the most, just in case they need some sort of medical attention, as I can help stabalize until medics arrive or be brought in. Although, Jame or you could maybe portal them to the hospital in worst case scenario," she suggested.

"As for you, Krish, I think floating might be useful. You can move over drifts and snow, no?"

Liron Andersen

Somewhat hesitantly, Liron approached the group. She was a bit late but that was only to be expected considering the heavy snowfall and her total lack of any abilities to help her on her way. There was quite the collection of people already gathered and she wondered if she could truly help in any way when they already seemed so much better prepared than her.

"Excuse me?" she said, to the woman who seemed to be in charge. "I'm Liron Andersen. Is there anything I can do to help?" She glanced about uncertainly. "I don't have any real powers to speak of that would help here, however."
