"A wonderful idea Aswan," it would be nice to spend more time with their friends, "that's called a double date correct?"

He nodded to Nova, "luckily my parents didn't do such things even though it was common among the other clans." He sighed a bit "if I been raised by one of the other clans they would already have a wife chosen."

"Dancing does sound nice," then he remembered that Aswan wasn't comfortable touching people. "We could watch Aswan, have some drinks."

He shook his head, "only the monks and my mother," it was always strange to explain that he was raised by his father's worshippers. "It wasn't all bad though," he smiled, "they taught me much. I am grateful to them."

"Were young," he chuckled, "we shouldn't be thinking of marriage yet." He grinned just a bit and hugged Nova with one arm, "let's just enjoy our lives with the people around us."

He smiled, "dancing it is," he took Nova's hand, "let's go."

Elizabeth put her bags down in the adjoining room and looked down at what she was wearing; jeans, a green jumper and an old pair of converse. She knew it wasn't anything special but she didn't want to go to dinner and look scruffy. Elizabeth looked at Soren, who was offering his arm. "I might get changed first," she said, gesturing to her clothes. She walked back into her room and shut the door, taking out a short, black dress, a pair of tights and a pair of boots. She exited her room again once changed and smiled at Soren. "Okay, lets go."

"Indeed," the brunette confirmed, grinning. Like an idiot, she thought, catching a glimpse of her faded reflection in the glass. "A double date." Which, up until this point, had seemed redundant to her. It was funny how the perspective changed, after her finding Nova, a possible friend and someone who potentially didn't annoy her.
Potentially.
Because the thrumming in her chest, the redness in her face, the odd feeling she had when he mentioned he would already have a wife chosen (jealousy? she believed??) - that was getting really annoying. The fact that she couldn't muster up the courage to actually brave the touch to dance with him? Also very annoying. And to top it all off, this grinning like an idiot was also pissing her off. She looked like an idiot before him, for God's sakes!
No, you know what? Aswan shook her head gently, and spoke with a smile again on her lips. This time though, the smile held no malice or competition - merely cockiness, and playfulness.
"Dancing sounds excellent. I'm willing to try to dance with you, Roland, if you'd like. And afterwards," she stated, her smile turning goofy again, "you, I, Nova and... Ling, was it? - You, I, Nova and Ling can sip drinks and tell stories. You know. Bonding and things like that."

Nova

"True," Nova said, addressing Ling. "Especially since you have never even dated!" You needed to date before you could marry, obviously. "And Roland- wow, I had no idea. You were so lucky though. Like me, I guess."

Nova was excited for a double date. She had never done one of those before, apart from on the cruise, which only kind of qualified as one. The only thing was, she was still in the process of buying a phone with the small amount of money that she had. She would have to find a way to plan it despite that. But for now it was time to party, so she thought to do it later.

Nova happily grabbed Ling's hand and said, "Let's go." Turning her head towards Aswan, she said, "It will be fine! It is not hard to dance! All you have to do is move around. But the drinks sound good afterwards!"

And with that, the group set off towards the dance floor, joining a crowd of couples and singles alike moving in time with the music.

Haru giggled and looked down at the two children occupied in conversation. "It would seem they are." Lyns little spin made her fill all mushy inside with how innocent and pure the young wolf was. It was good for Storm to have such an exciting person in their life. At least it would always keep Storm on her toes if anything. Looking up from the sight below deck she turned her attention back to Storm.

"So what time do you want me to pick you up for our date puddin pop?" Haru placed a hand on Storms face before wiping away something with her thumb. She had imagined something was on Storms face but it was just her imagination. The scene probably looked more romantic did it needed to be but Haru found this funny.

Roland smiled and nodded, "it'll be fun." He stepped beside Swan, "a lovely dance partner, I'd be honored to dance with you."

"Yes, I can tell you all a bit about Avalon," he wasn't going to tell them about the war though. "And I'm excited to hear stories from all of you."

He turned to Aswan as Nova pulled Ling away, "thank you," he said with a smile, "shall we?" he asked gesturing toward the dance area.

Ling grinned and went hand and hand with Nova, it hadn't been hard, but he already had a crush on the girl. Luckily he already had a date with her, "thanks Nova, this is gonna be fun."

They entered the dance area and he grinned a bit at Nova, "so have you danced before?" he asked gently squeezing her hand a bit.

"Either way," he pulled her into a slow imoroptu dance, "my mom taught me a bit." He smiled and blushed just a bit as they danced, "but I have a great dance partner so its great anyways."

"Tales of Avalon - I'd love to learn about that place," she added. Aswan nodded and in turn smiled back at Roland. "Indeed, the feeling is mutual. It's an honor to dance with you, Roland." Turning back away, she quickly rummaged in her pocket for something she always kept on her - mints. Why? They helped to calm her nausea, for some odd reason, from touching people. And if this night went the way she thought (and lowkey hoped) it would, she'd need some mint to help. Quickly snapping open the container and popping a mint, she nodded, with a smile. "We shall." She offered her hand, bracing herself for the touch, to him, and slid the mint pack into her pocket. She hoped this worked as well as it had back when she was wandering New York.... and that she could actually dance without stepping on Roland's feet. That would just be plain embarrassing. Maybe she could observe Nova's movements and copy those? Needless to say, Aswan was getting a little nervous, although she wouldn't say it out loud.

"Well, I have danced before, but not very much. And... Not very well either." Even if she could dance well, she doubted it would be anything like the way along danced. Plus, dancing was not a regular occurrence on a planet consisting of water and trees. She did have areas to dance on, but usually that space was used for more conventional things.

Despite being completely unready for the whole dancing situation Ling had taken both of her hands and was swaying back and forth. It was strange, but a very easy thing to copy. She smirked, raising her eyebrows and saying, "Is this all dancing is here?" One part of her was grateful that it was so easy to pick up, meaning she could focus on other things, but another part of her wanted a bit more of a challenge.

She grinned as Ling told her she was great. Similar to how Roland was on their initial encounter, he seemed to like compliments. Was this how everyone on Earth was? It was definitely new. Compliments were few and far between on her planet, and it made the receiver feel like they had really earnt it. She was undecided on the way of her new world.

Smiling, he gently took her hand and lead her into the dance room. Now, Roland was always calm, but here and now, he was secretly nervous. It wasn't the dance itself, he had been trained in formal dancing, it was who he was dancing with. Something about her intrigued him, as if something made him gravitate toward her.

All in all, he hid his nervousness well, and quickly lead Aswan into a formal but simple slow dance, "thank you Aswan, it's been a long time sense I've danced."

"Well...no there are others," Long was calm, but one could tell that he was a bit nervous, this was all new to him, "I don't really know any."

He glanced at a few of the other couples dancing, some were doing more fast paced dances, "we can try some of the others," he said with a grin. "Something faster, more exciting."

Sorry about the short posts, I'm a bit stamped with threads

Aswan nodded, suddenly grateful she had popped the mint. Because as Roland took her hand, the buzzing got about five times as intense.. but was somehow nice?? She walked gingerly with the dark-haired mage to the dance floor, where he initiated... she thought it was a waltz. She remembered from Phys Ed class back in eighth grade... ugh. That had been terrible. This - it was almost soothing, the sway of the pair as she gently got more and more comfortable. The steps weren't as complicated as she thought, and dancing with Roland was... wow. It was nice. "Likewise," she told Roland, "but I suppose I am 'getting the hang of it', fortunately." The fact that she was even admitting this? Surprising to even Aswan herself - why was she admitting to being ignorant about the ways of dancing? She was supposed to know this. Ah, it didn't matter nearly as much now.
