"Oh, really? What new things have you tried since you left your home?" she asked, suddenly very curious. She finished her cookie and instead focused all of her attention on the conversation. She had sure done a lot of new things since arriving on the island a month ago.
Overhearing Aswan mention travelling, she said,
"It sounds like you have tried plenty of new things then, Aswan." She smiled kindly. She may be in a budding romance with Roland, her friend-ish former cruise date, but she genuinely thought she was a decent person. Actually, she thought she was a really great person.
"I guess we will have to try some new things together after the cruise," she said to Ling, smiling. Maybe she would ask him to meet up again.
"That must be really fun," she said. Sure she expected it had its dangers, but as long as there was nobody else in danger, she did not mind what he did. That was the difference between him and Roland.
No! Do not think of that! She thought to herself, removing the thought from her mind. This was a fun cruise, and fun it would be.
"You- you are a dragon?" she asked, a little bit worried.
"Do you- breathe fire? N-not that that would be a problem, of course. I am not afraid of fire, obviously." She shot a warning look at Roland in the hope that he would stay out of it. She was not sure he would, but if he did she would appreciate it.
Looking towards Aswan, Nova frowned. She did not know what she was doing, but because she said 'shh' she was not about to ruin whatever she was trying to do. Instead, she just watched curiously.

"I see, I apologize," he had met a few ghosts on Avalon, so he knew she was telling the truth. 
He smiled, he could tell this girl was special, unique, "I like trying new things too, my home was a little isolated so I'm taking the chance to see new things." 
"Again, my apologies. Normally I would be able to deal with the sense, but..." Her stomach grumbled in protest. How did it even do that? She technically didn't need to eat.
