Appearance Description : Woody stands at eight feet tall and thirty two inches wide. She is made of mahogany wood, much to her displeasure since it is at odds with her surname. In her center is a long, thin rectangular panel of wood with a feathery pattern carved down into it. This central panel is flanked by two and thin horizontal panels at the top and bottom. Those three panels are then bordered by four more panels, one thin one running along each side. The doorknob is shiny from wear and made of brass. Woody is able to see what is happening on both sides of her.
Personality Description : Woody used to be quite fussy about everything, due to her worries about not being able to measure up as a proper lady. She had unusual abilities, after all. And education! It was all very distressing to her family but it had to be done. After spending so much time hanging about the school after her unfortunate accident, however, Woody has had much time to think over her personal issues.
Sure, the first few decades were spent angsting about the fact that, well. She was a door -nobody seemed able to reverse that problem- but after a long while, she decided to be philosophical about it. Basically, she's learned to laugh at herself about her issues. Despite the fact that she can't physically laugh anymore. Even though she's still upset by the issue, at least she's found ways to amuse herself. If any telepaths stop by and actually bother to see if they can talk to her, Woody is actually quite a cheerful person. She has her bouts of sarcasm but that's only to be expected. What she really likes is being able to hear about what has been happening outside her line of sight.
Major Power : Structural Translocation - Woody has always had the ability to move objects through structural elements. It's a sort of teleportation but it works by using already established obstacles as guides. For example, she can move a person through the Academy from one side to another by sending them horizontally through the floors. If she wanted to move them up a floor, then she could send them vertically through the walls. It does not matter if the guide she is using is thinner than the object she is trying to move. Somehow, the object will still make it safely to where she wants to put it and nobody will be able to tell by looking at the guide that anything is moving through it. If she moves something through a transparent object, however, then that movement would be visible as a blur.
There is no limit to weight or amount of objects that Woody can move. However, she can only use her powers on objects that are touching her. Things that touch the doorknob are safe from this power but anything that touches any part of the actual door are fair game. She could theoretically send objects outside of the Academy but it would be very difficult to get right because she is unfamiliar with the outside landscape these days and the plain ground is confusingly expansive. If she tried, she would probably make it to the entrance of the Academy, and then she would drive herself crazy trying to figure out which paths to take from there.
She cannot move herself and has never been able to move herself. It might be possible for her to learn to but so far, it's not like she's had anybody who can teach her that.
Birth Place / Hometown : Lancashire, Great Britain

Biography : Woody was born Louise Ashworth to an upper class British family. From birth, it was well known among the servants that she was strange. Things were constantly disappearing around her and there were whispers of her being possessed. Since she remained perfectly sweet and had a normal child's temperament, this only reinforced people's paranoia. Despite their fear, however, her parents did their best to bring her up properly, though they did lock her away from the world. Attempted to, anyways. Though she could move freely about the mansion, she was carefully conditioned to scorn the outside world.
However, one day when Louise was in her early teens, a man came to Lancashire, who was specifically looking for children with powers. Upon hearing about the mysterious situation in the Ashworth household, that man went to investigate. Finding Louise there and recognizing that she was gifted rather than possessed, he offered to take her away to a special school that had recently been established, one that catered specifically to her sort of people. Though she did not want to go initially, her parents saw it as an opportunity and ordered her to go. Being the dutiful daughter -or rather, trying to emulate her older sisters- she agreed without much complaint.
The years passed unremarkably and Louise eventually gained control over her powers. Having finished her schooling, she actually left the island and returned home with her degree in Home Economics. Despite this, she came back to the island on the urging of a teacher who felt that the Academy might do well with more female teachers. Only meaning to finish the mandatory education courses required of her, Louise did not spend too much more time in the Academy's halls. So it was extremely unfortunate that the one time a student had a major accident with their powers outside of the power classes, she happened to be passing by.
Before she even knew what was happening, Louise found herself trapped in her current form. And try as they might, nobody from that point on could undo the effects of the magic.
Nowadays, Louise acts as a normal classroom door on the third floor, although that particular room is not usually in use. Few people drop by anymore but when they do, she is very happy, even if they don't know to speak with her.
Additional Information : There are rumors around the school of the living door "Woody McDoorson," a nickname that Louise had hated initially but started to see the humor in. She answers to that name good naturedly now but if any telepath asks, she'll gladly tell them her real name as well.
Woody actually makes very minute vibrations whenever she "speaks." These do not make up a real voice but to a very, very careful observer might find that the vibrations do make up a sort of code.
