Books and more books surrounded him as he walked, one of his hands balancing a pile of them as he moved through the library. Aedan came here often, so often that it being enchanted to be larger on the inside than it appeared on the outside was hardly noticeable anymore, it was just normal to him.

So he'd move from shelf to shelf, picking the books he believed to be interesting, or ones his younger surrogate sister might like. He'd move around a group of shelves and find a girl there, she didn't seem to be particularly browsing.

He'd tilt his head and smile, "hello miss, I hope I didn't startle you," between his height and glowing blue eyes he was quite the figure. "First time visiting this library?" he'd ask, with a calm smile, he'd seen a few people get lost.

There was something wrong about the library, the way it twisted and turned more than its outside dimensions should have allowed. Oh, there was ample warning of it, sure, but it was one thing to be merely told of the phenomenon and another to actually experience it. Somewhat foolishly, daringly, she had decided to press on further. Estelle thought it rather felt like proving something to herself though what exactly, she could not say.

The hours passed by slowly as she wandered deeper and deeper into the library, parasol gripped in her hands like a baseball bat. Her mind had gone blank and serene, so beyond panic that it had doubled back on itself. There was simply no room for any of that in her life. She would find her way out eventually, she supposed. And, well, if she purposely ignored trails that seemed to be leading out and away, nobody had to know that. In a way, she felt like she deserved to be lost and forever wandering. Another part of her scoffed and called it selfish, shirking her responsibilities in such a useless way.

The sound of another's voice startled her out of her thoughts. Her head jerked in that direction, towards a young man at the other end of a bookshelf. His blue eyes glowed eerily, even from the distance.

"Of course," she said delicately, meaninglessly. "It is rather impressive, isn't it?"

"Quite," he'd nod, setting his stack on a small desk, "bit of magic can make building near endless, I hear this one was half its size less than a year ago before they added the enchantment." He didn't use magic, but he did read about it, it was a common thing here after all.

He'd chuckle a bit, "if it wasn't for this damn nose of mine I'd have probably gotten lost once or twice," he was always able to track himself back out, getting lost anywhere was a rare occurrence for him. "Following your nose is....quite literal with me."

He'd spot a poetry book and set it on his stack, "I'm Aedan Drago," between her white hair and her exotic eyes, he couldn't help but notice she was an attractive girl. "New to the island?"

She ventured closer, reasoning that she had already been so daring that day, it would have been a waste of her courage not to. "Estelle Chevalier," she introduced herself warily. "I arrived only recently, yes. I hope you will pardon my English. It is not my native tongue." She had forgone getting a universal translator, hoping that her years of English class would be enough to cope with the island.

"You seem to have an interesting ability," Estelle said, with delicately bred politeness. It felt like a reasonable statement to make, something to fill in the space of the conversation.

"Pleasure to meet you," he'd say with a smile, offering his hand for her to shake, "Chevalier...like chivalry? It sounds quite nice." He hadn't been much of a social person, that was something he was trying to change, so a little conversation would be good for that.

He'd chuckle, "enhanced senses can be useful," he'd tap his nose a little, "unfortunately it makes to where I can't taste much, but I'd say it's a good trade off."

"And what of you Miss Estelle?" he'd ask curiously, "what special abilities brought you here?"

"It is nice to meet you," the young lady said, taking the offered hand. "My ancestors were knights back in the old times, so I have been told." Her tone was light and mild; in truth, she had been lectured extensively on her family lineage and knew for a fact that she was descended from nobility. Her parents had been adamant that she know this.

"My abilities are nothing of particular note," she said politely, because a courteous stranger was still a stranger and also because she felt genuinely that there was nothing to speak of. Her power was useless to her parents so surely it was simply useless across the board as well. She could not imagine anybody really valuing it. "It was my lineage, rather, that brought me here, I believe. Magic has run in the family for generations. Thinly, granted, but magic is magic."

"Nothing of note?" he'd tilt his head, "I've been on this island for two years now and I've yet to see anything that was nothing of note." He hadn't expected to enter a conversation here, but it wasn't an unpleasant surprise, "like you said, magic is magic, and magic can always surprise you."

His nose twitched as he added one last book to his stack, should be enough to keep him and his sister busy for a while. "That said," he'd give her a smile, "are you lost? I'll be heading out soon, if you'd like me to lead you out," an employee would likely find her if she remained, but he couldn't leave without making the offer.

She let out a delicate sigh. "I suppose you are right. I still think it is nothing much to speak of, however." There was little reason for her to bring up the uselessness of her abilities, Estelle thought. They were almost a disgrace, though the naivety of it was beautiful in its own way.

Estelle cleared her throat a little at his offer. "It is a rather big library," she said, somewhat helplessly, not willing to admit that she had gotten lost, much less that she had intended for it to happen. "Company from time to time is nice."

Tilting his head back just a bit, his nose would twitch a little as he picked up his own scent trail, he didn't need it to find his way out, but it was useful. "Ah, well, let's make our way out then," he'd say with a chuckle, having guessed that she was quite lost.

He'd start to lead her out, passing a tiny fair carrying an incredibly large stack of books as they went. "Being lost in a book can be quite enjoyable," he'd day with a playful smile, "being lost in library not as much though," he'd chuckle a little.

Once at the entrance he'd check his books out, pondering something as he did. "Estelle would you like some tea or coffee?" he'd smile, "there's a nice café not far from here if you'd like to join me."
