I don't care what you think as long as it's about me

Lochlann didn't want to extend the conversation by arguing that he was in fact a stupid person. It seemed....counter productive. He didn't want to be stupid, either, but he felt like he was lying to her by not arguing. Instead, he gave her another gentle squeeze with his arms around her hips.

He was relieved when she moved her head, but saddened to lose the contact.

"My chest is in the same shape as my wrist," he told her. It was a rule six but it was also his attempt at rule #1. He did not want to make the same mistake. After a moment, he said, "My neck, too. Everywhere else is good though."

When she told him again that he was complicated, he caught the humor, so he stuck his tongue out at her.

Lochlann hadn't done this in years but he'd done it twice in the last hour with her.

When she asked about the exclusive part, Lochlann was able to give a definitive answer to this one. He nodded.

"Yes," he said. "It's all wrapped up."

He didn't sound sad when he said this. Instead, he seemed excited, if a little wistful. Lochlann didn't consider himself complicated, but his relationship status definitely was, but now that he could set it to in a relationship he was..

Scared.

Happy, mostly, but scared, too.

"Most of them ended on good terms," he said. "So if it's okay with you, I would like to try and stay friends. I mean what I promised you and I have no intention of rekindling the sexual parts of those relationships."

He wondered if this was okay. He searched her face for permission.

ooc: i will have you know my posts are delayed today because i was at....yoga. :/

Caitlin dropped her eyes to his chest again, shock coloring her features. "Oh my gosh, Lochlann. Were you attached?"

The words poured out before she could stop them. Cat slapped her hand over her mouth immediately as though she could take it back. She held her other hand up in a sip motion. "I'm sorry, I understand. Number six." Her voice was muffled under her hands but her eyes were vibrant with concern.

He confirmed that he was officially hers exclusively and she should have been happier by this news the she felt. Instead she felt as if her emotions were colored by worry and dulled. She managed a smile regardless but it felt half hearted. She was glad that now they could try moving forward in this developing relationship. She hasn't liked the feeling that she was sharing a stage. Cat was very much a solo act.

She nodded. "Yes," she said without hesitation. "I don't very much care who you are friends with. What matters to me is that I only date someone who is only mine. And," she pleased on as if she were utterly comfortable with the following words but her cheeks betrayed her and flushed, "I only have sex with someone exclusively dedicated to me. It doesn't matter if you've slept with them before as long as you aren't now." She was trying to show that she understood that a lot of his friendships were muffled with sex. She was also making it clear, like she had two weeks before, that he could either have sex with anyone he wanted and get steppin our he could cut sex a others out and be with her.

Cat was actually far more flattered then she let on that he had chosen to try to make a commitment to her over all of the free sex that he seemed to have available to him.

Caitlin tried to shake off the dreaded she felt that Lochlann had potentially been attached or, less likely, had a bad accident, and move into the now. She reached out and took his unbandaged hand and tugged, trying to draw him into her.

ooc: XD was that your first yoga practice? (Cat copied her mom doing yoga because my son has copied me since he was two ;) )

Was he attacked?

A year and a half ago when she first gave him those scars, Lochlann would have said yes. Now he wasn't so sure.

But she gave him space, and he appreciated that. He just felt tired thinking about Guin.

"It's, well it's," and then, he laughed, but still said the words anyway. "It's a little complicated."

He reached out towards her and pulled her back against him, but nestled her closer to his right side rather than his heart.

"Cat, sometime, I'm going to have to have a talk with you about what happened to me, but I don't want to do that tonight," he confessed. "I feel like.."

He reached up and rubbed at his temple again.

"Sorry. I feel like I'm just always telling you the bad things. And I mess up a lot," he said, claiming responsibility for his earlier blunder. "And I know they're just little things, but I'm afraid that if we have too many bad little things, they'll pile up and crush us before we even have a chance."

He worried that might not make sense, but he didn't know how else to explain it. Sometimes, he felt like he was being crushed by it.

He was glad he could maintain his friendships. When she blushed while talking about sex, Lochlann nodded.

"That doesn't even have to be on the table," he said.

Then, Lochlann's eyes widened and his jaw reworked, because he realized he'd worded it more like that sex itself didn't have to take place on the table.

"I mean, I guess it could, but ughhhh," Lochlann said. "Cat, can you show me a yoga pose that would make me flexible enough to put my foot in my mouth?"

He rubbed his face with both hands.

"But I guess, what I'm trying to say is, I hope you don't feel pressured by knowing what I am. I think I know you enough to venture that you wouldn't feel like I was making you, that only you make your own decisions." Lochlann paused for a moment. He didn't know how to say this.

He was afraid that, no matter how he worded it, it would imply that he felt that Cat would be having pity sex if or when she decided to sleep with him. He didn't want her to feel like she had to since he wasn't sleeping with anyone else.

"Actually, it sounds stupid to say it out loud," he said. "But I would hope that, if you ever wanted to have that in our relationship, it would be because you want it and not just because you care about me."

It sounded really stupid, but Lochlann was starting to pick up on how Cat's caring worked. She was passionate and headstrong and she scared the hell out of him.

And he liked that. A lot.

ooc: haha no! I've gone on and off with my mom over the last year, but not consistently enough to say i'd practice. I've got terribly tight hamstrings so I'm pretty miserable the first 50%.

Lochlann's reaction of "If I relax, I die" is what I told the yoga instructor the second time I ever did yoga. I've come a long way since then. xD

"Complicated," she repeated in a murmurer, but the word was being thrown around by both of them enough in under ten minutes to describe him or his life that it was enough to break her tension and draw a faint smile.

Lochlann pulled her back in and she cuddled against him, settling in like she belong there. It was different this time then it had been before. She settled into him was ease and comfort, her whole demenour changed just in knowing that she wasn't in a lineup with other people. She was the One right now. That might not last forever, it might, they wouldn't know that for a long time, but in the moment, she was the only and that was what mattered to her. She wrapped her arms loosely around him, her fingers lacing together and resting on his hip as she settled where he placed her, understanding now that his left side was hurt.

She watched him touch his head again and she fleetingly thought about asking if 'regular medicine' could help ease the headache he said he didn't have but she suspected might be there. As he spoke, however, what pain his head might be suffering took a back seat for the moment. Surely a migraine wouldn't compare to the pain he must be in in his chest, his neck, and his hand.

"I think that you tell me the bad things because I pick at them. I see the good in you and I want to help you see it too. And some of it isn't fair. I know what you are, I understand what you are, and I... worry some. So when the bad things come, I want to know. Because could any of that bad affect me? Or could any of it keep me, us, safer?" She shrugged as much as she could have without letting go of him.

"But I want us to have a chance, I feel like we have a good chance, actually. So I'm going to try not to pick at the small stuff so much. Because I think you're right. So if you aren't in danger, from someone else or yourself, then I guess I can wait for that story." She pecked his cheek like a tiny, fleeting peace offering.

Caitlin couldn't help but giggle. She'd understood his meaning about sex not having to be on the table but his worry that she'd think literally instead of figuratively was too funny to ignore. More then the thought, she liked his stumbling attempt to correct himself.

"That would be a double Buddhasana," she told him. She reached up and took his hands from his face, careful of his injury, smiling. "And for the record, I can't even do that." She sobered some then, putting her arms back around him again.

"You're right. I don't feel pressure. And I'm not one to bend to someone elses will, so don't worry yourself thinking I will. I'd sooner throw a trash can at you," she smiled. "Lochlann, if I were weak willed enough to have sex with you just to please you then for one thing, I don't think you'd like me very much, and for another I wouldn't have been strong willed enough to say no other sex, would I?" She leaned up and kissed his chin.

"I'm not jumping right into bed with you because, frankly, we've shared a lot of fifty questions but we really don't know each other that well. But it isn't off the table in our future," she smiled mischievously, "literally or figuratively." She turned in his arms so that she was facing him better but still off center from his left and moved her arms from his waist to up and around his shoulders. Rising to tiptoes, she pressed a kiss without hesitation to his mouth. She'd missed that one kiss they'd shared before she'd said no more.

ooc: XD nice. I never took a class but a friend of mine in Germany was crazy into it. She could do all of those insane moves and she's actually where I learned about Tandem from. Her husband practiced with her. They were insane.

Lochlann was so, so glad to have her in his arms. He could never, and most likely would never, put into words just how good it felt to hold someone, to have someone pressed up against him.

Her closeness made him seek out excuses to touch her. His hands traced small patterns against her back and it might have seen like fidgeting but the movements were deliberate and slow.

Could Guin affect her?

Lochlann wasn't so sure. He didn't think so. He didn't think Guin was letting him escape so easily, but going after Cat wasn't her style. He'd have to talk about this with Cat.

He liked the way her shoulders moved when she shrugged and he rested his head on top of hers for a moment, taking advantage of his own height to feel like he was holding her even closer. He wasn't sure why, maybe it was their earlier talk of sex, but Lochlann was feeling..affectionate.

It's not that he wasn't normally feeling affection towards her, but now it was like a compulsion. When her lips pressed against his cheek, it was all he could do not to turn his head to try and kiss her on the mouth.

What the hell was wrong with him?

Lochlann was surprised that there was a yoga pose for that. When she pulled her hands away from his face, her touch was gentle, but Lochlann still eyed her critically.

"I trust you," Lochlann said. "But I just realized that you could completely lie to me about yoga and I will believe it for years and years and years until I find out the truth otherwise."

He wondered if she meant that she couldn't put her foot in her mouth or couldn't have sex on the table, then felt like an idiot for wondering.

He was relieved that she didn't feel pressure. THe kiss at the bottom of his chin was nice, but it had surprised him and he stiffened until he realized what she was doing, then he relaxed.

"I'm glad," he said, and his lips twisted up into an easy smile. And then, Cat was kissing him, and Lochlann was kissing her back.

His kiss back was experimental, following her lead and testing to see how far she wanted this kiss to go.

Lochlann had in mind taking her back up to her table and kissing her over it, but he certainly wasn't going to nudge her there without sensing and hint that this kiss was anything more than a regular kiss. But that undercurrent of lust that Lochlann rode slipped into his movements and the previous roaming of his hands continued.

ooc: oh that's awesome! that's probably better than taking a class then haha! my mom is nuts and goes to yoga about 5x a week. She's lost over 100lbs from doing it. i like "restorative yoga" better than anything else--apparently i have really flexible hips, so it feels really great. but it's the laziest yoga ever haha

Caitlin almost grinned. "I wouldn't lie to you. There isn't actually a move to put your foot in your mouth. But you can put your feet behind your head and I figure if you can do that you could also put it in your mouth." She'd meant she couldn't do that yoga move. It seemed impossible to her. But she also wouldn't put her foot in her mouth if she could help it. The table thing...that might have been up for negotiation.

Lochlann's hands roamed over her back while she kissed him and sent chills up her spine. She shivered. Just being touched seemed so intimate because she wasn't a very casual toucher. She savored the feel of his hands touching her back. She pushed the kiss forward, sliding her tongue against his lip and tightened her arms around his waist, pressing the line of her body against his.

She broke this kiss before too long, never allowing her hands to roam because she knew this wasn't moving further then this kiss right now, but savoring everywhere his fingers touched her. She she stopped kissing him, she nuzzled her face against his throat lightly, conscious of his wounds, even though she wasn't sure where they were on his neck it was clearly below the collar of his shirt.

"I got out my disney movies," she said playfully.

Lochlann enjoyed this kiss.

Lochlann was not good at many things, but kissing was one of them, and he reveled in this shared kiss. His tongue found hers and invited her to explore. His hands kept to her back and sides, but never trailed too low to make it a very different kind of kiss, although Lochlann would have been eager if she made any indication that she wanted to go there.

When she broke the kiss, he gave her a conspirator smile as though they'd just shared a secret together.

Her head nuzzled his neck and it was safe, missing the stitches, and Lochlann closed his eyes and pulled her closer, enjoying this as much as he'd enjoyed their kisses.

The only annoying thing was this insistent ache. It was only getting worse now, and this troubled him, because Lochlann didn't usually get headaches unless...

He glanced at the window. Nope. Sunny.

"I didn't bring a notebook, so I hope I don't have to take notes," he grinned at her. "I'm ready to learn why you love them. Teach me."

He pulled her closer and her heart trimmed with the movement. Caitlin hummed her pleasure softly, a sweet, very quiet sound down in her chest. She liked this sense of belonging very much.

Lochlann grinned and she turned the smile, giving him one more gently squeeze before withdrawing from his hold, her fingers trailing down his arm to take his hand. "We will start with beauty and the Beast, of course,"she said decisively with a nod.

Caitlin was moving on from their small disagreement as though it never occurred. She was like that by nature, easy to forgive, easy to let go, and easy to move on. In Tues way she was a very easy person to get along with.

Grasping his hand, she pulled him back to the sofa, this time leading him to sit with her, lifting the remote and turning on the small television. "Do you want popcorn or something else?" She asked him.

"I didn't bring a notebook, so I hope I don't have to take notes," he grinned at her. "I'm ready to learn why you love them. Teach me."[/QUOTE]

Cat took his hand and Lochlann followed. When she settled onto the couch, he was ready to resume his spot on the floor, but this time she led him to sit with her so he accepted it as permission. He nestled up against her so the space between their bodies was slim to none and stretched out his one leg so it was on the floor with the hell facing up.

"Beauty and the beast it is," Lochlann said.

He hesitated and said, "I know some of these fairy tales, but from the other side of them. I don't know too much about beauty and the beast though."

He shook his head and declined her offer.

"No thank you," he said. He didn't like to eat when he was around someone he cared about if he could help it. That connection between food and lover was alarming and he didn't want to strengthen it. He'd eat when he went home later.

He stole a quick glance on her and said, "Are you one of those people that will get upset if I ask a lot of questions?"

He grinned. "It's okay if you are. I just want to know before this starts."

"Well, first, Disney got Beauty and the Beast all wrong. I mean they usually mess up the endings which are sad to make it happy for obvious reasons, but the original take already had a happy ending so there wasn't a real reason to change it besides creative liberty." She shrugged. "All the be same is my favorite fairy tale but also my favorite movie, despite its differences."

He say very close and she reached over and retrieved their forgotten coffee. Here's was half finished. "Good call on the ice," Cat said as she handed him his. She let go of his hand and scooted closer to close the gap between them, more then happy to sit hip to go, thigh to thigh.

"So in the original story they're roles are reversed. Belle is shallow and while beast is a monster he cares for her from the start. Disney, though, needs a heroine princess so Belle is naturally perfect." She picked up a bulky remote to work the old VCR and clicked play.

"Ask away," she smiled up at him. "That way I know you aren't sleeping through my kid movies." Cat nudged him gently to convey she was playing.
