Appearance Description:
Gwynaria is a human and horse hybrid, but not a centaur. Rather than having the body and four legs of a horse, she has two horse legs and the torso of a human female. The fur of her legs and her hair are like that of a gypsy horse, which are black and white marbled. Her hair is also reminiscent of a horse’s mane, styled in a faux hawk with braids on the sides of her head. She stands very tall at 7’6” thanks to her long horse legs and a long torso. She typically has to duck through doorways.

Her eyes are hazel and piercing—girls have been known to skip a beat when they look into them (or so Gwynaria claims). Her skintone is olive and fairly tan. Although the story in which she was trapped was written in Old High German, she is unsure of her nationality from before the three entities that created her were cursed.

Gwynaria’s face is very androgynous, with a strong jawline and cheekbones but also soft eyes and lips. Her body has little difference between her waist and hips, but she does have breasts. They’re small A cup breasts, but they are there nonetheless.

Her fashion style is very…princely. She is inclined toward tailored jackets that simply scream “prince” with epaulettes and chains as accessories. Her choices for bottoms is limited to short pants and skirts, but she is mostly inclined toward rider-style pants that have been cropped to her mid-thigh. There have been the occasional days where Gwynaria has allowed the princess in her to come out with a flowy skirt, or even a dress.

Personality description:
Bold, noble, and fanciful. Gwynedd was very much a Prince Charming type, and Gwynaria inherited much of his flamboyant personality. She’s often mistaken for being ‘flirty’, but really she just has a burning need to tell girls how beautiful they are—regardless of whether she actually has any interest in them. She even calls girls ‘princess’ unless they basically beg her to stop.

When she is interested in a woman, Gwynaria is very much a romantic. When a girl is with Gwynaria, they are her princess, and she loves to fawn over them. Of course, she is also quite picky and it takes a lot of time and interaction before Gwynaria decides someone is worthy to be her ‘princess’. Gwynaria is a rather prideful person and takes her ‘reputation’ seriously…despite the fact that she is no longer a prince or a princess.

But despite the pride and extravagancy, there is a more gentle side to Gwynaria as well. This was the part of her inherited from Berengaria—a personality of kindness and a deep caring for others. Sometimes the pride of Gwynedd and the empathy of Berengaria can be at odds…but when someone is hurt, upset, or emotional, Gwynaria can’t help but try and help the other lift their spirits. She is also very loyal to those she loves. Maybe that piece of personality came from Siegfried the horse, since he was always referred to as a loyal steed.

Powers:
Major power:

Prince: One Swordsman Army
Those princes in the fairy tales always seem to be able to combat their way through anything, right? They also seem to take more damage than any regular human could withstand while they fight their way to saving a damsel in distress. This is the power that Gwynaria inherited from Gywnedd: the strength to take on whole armies by herself, the energy to fight for hours upon hours on end, and the resilience to withstand more battle damage than most.

It certainly is a powerful ability to have on her side, but Gwynaria's One Swordsman Army abilities function under 'fairy tale' rules. There are limitations that her power has to abide by.

One catch of this power is that Gwynaria MUST have a sword. It doesn’t have to be any specific sword, but it must be a sword. Otherwise, she is at a much more ‘regular’ status of strength. Granted, being as tall as she is with her powerful horse legs makes her a bit stronger than the average human, but certainly not strong enough to withstand a whole army. She won’t have the resilience to withstand such attack power, either.

A far worse limitation lies in Gwynaria's fears and phobias--burned into her psyche after living the same fairy tale events over and over for thousands of years. Despite her pride, these few things can cause her to completely freeze up in fear. Gwynaria will be thrown into a crippling anxiety that will make it pretty much impossible to even try and find the strength to use her One Swordsman Army power. Anyone who can tap into one of Gwynaria's fears will have a massive upperhand over her, and in all likelihood Gwynaria will need someone to help her escape the situation. Basically, she becomes less 'Prince' and more 'Damsel in Distress' and needs someone to save her!

Her fears:
-Dragons, and by extension reptiles in general. Even a tiny lizard can make her nervous.

-Wolves and large dogs. In the fairy tale, Siegfried was attacked by wolves--and of course had to experience the dreadful attack over and over. The fear the horse experienced in the story is very much buried into Gwynaria.

-The sensation of déjà vu. While it may be something that nearly everyone experiences, it can throw her into a total panic. It reminds her of reliving the same experiences in the fairy tale over and over, and makes her fear that she may have been cursed into a world with no future once more.

-Irrational fear of being poisoned. She does not like to accept food or drink from others. If something doesn't taste as she expects it to, she becomes terrified that it may have been poisoned.

-Witches and curses. Although Gwynaria has no memories from before being cursed into the book, she seems quite confident that it was the work of a witch. That's what witches do after all, right? They curse people! The thought of being cursed again is an absolute nightmare to Gwynaria, and as such she is terrified of witches and their powers.

-Shooting stars. In the story, a shooting star was a foretelling of evil. So when Gwynaria looks up at the night sky and sees something zip by, she fully expects some sort of apocalyptic scenario to start up next morning.

Minor Power
Princess: Healing Touch
The power inherited from Berengaria is not as potent in Gwynaria as Gwynedd’s, but it has come in handy at times: Gwynaria can heal injuries and some sicknesses with a touch. With small injuries, it can be an instant healing. With worse, it can help soothe the pain and will help the wound heal a little quicker—but definitely not instantly. It is basically the same for illness: minor illnesses can be healed quickly, while severe ones may heal slowly. Unfortunately, she is pretty sure she cannot make life-threatening illnesses disappear—at most, she can ease the pain, but not cure them.

Gwynaria's Healing Touch tends to stop functioning when she's experiencing fear from any of the phobias above.

Very minor power:
Horse: She can run fast. Like a horse. Because she’s got horse legs.

Biography:
Gwynaria was once three separate entities:
Gwynedd Lorenzen the 3rd: A noble prince
Berengaria Brunhildr Schrader: An ordinary young woman who wishes to be a princess
Siegfried: Berengaria’s loyal horse.

The three existed in a fictional land called Kriemhild that only existed within an ancient story. Very little is known of the story, other than that is was originally written in ancient Germanic. The story itself is similar to the classic story of Cinderella, although it was certainly written long before the Grimm Brother’s version.

The original book that contained the story is a strange entity within itself. The full story has never been completely translated by anyone, because the book is known to simply disappear! The book seemed to choose its owners, and then after a while would simply vanish into the hands of somebody else. It was obvious that this was not simply a fairy tale, but no one could truly say what the book was—magic? Cursed? Perhaps within the story was a secret spell? No one could keep it long enough to figure out the mystery.

The book eventually appeared in the room of a young girl in Canada: Sylvie Delacroix. Sylvie happened to have a rather convenient power: the ability to read and speak any language. Sylvie had no idea where the book came from, but she was curious enough to give it a read. Although she was 14 at the time and should have ‘outgrown’ such things, Sylvie secretly still loved fairy tales, and became very interested in the book—interested enough to read it in one whole night (and forget to sleep)!

Sylvie, with her powers and being a fast reader, was the first person to ever read the entire book from beginning to end in one sitting before it disappeared. She was also the first to really inspect a strange poem in the back of the book, and notice an implication within the poem that it needed to be said outloud. Unfortunately, Sylvie had suffered from a heavy lisp in her younger years. While she had been working very hard on speech therapy to get rid of it, and was mostly rid of it when she spoke her native languages of French in English, she found that the Old High German seemed to bring it out quite badly.

She still decided to try, and the book seemed to react to her in a way that Sylvie could not really explain—it was just a feeling that she needed to keep going. She couldn’t stop, even if she was tripping over her lisp. When she had finished reciting the poem, an interesting thing happened: Sylvie had recited the poem well enough for the magic to react to her, but her lisp had also caused her to say some words wrong.

What was supposed to happen: the prince, princess, and even the horse companion would be released from the curse and the book would vanish.

What actually happened: The book did indeed vanish and the curse was released! But instead of three separate individuals, they had been…merged. They were one entity: a prince, a princess, and a horse. An androgynous human face, a female torso, and the legs of a horse.

When Gwynaria was released and they both got over the initial shock and confusion, she explained to the young girl that she had once existed in the real world, but she was three people: Prince Gwynedd, Princess Berengaria, and Siegfried the horse. They had been cursed into story of the book, which repeated the same events over and over every time someone read the book. They had remained in the book for so long, they became self-aware enough to realize that they kept living the same moments in time repeatedly with no possible future, but they had no control over it.

So being transported back into the real world was not a shock but rather something Gwynaria had wished for! What was a shock, however, was being 3 entities combined in one body! Both her body and mind were a mixture of all three: mostly human, both man and woman, and partially a horse. It was difficult to fathom, but Gwynarina found that while she was all three, she also felt like her own person. Not three entities in war with each other for ‘priority’ in her mind, but a smooth combination that allowed her to be her own person. It was certainly strange, but Gwynaria was positively thrilled to live in a world where she had finally a future—not just a repeat of the same events over and over again. If gaining that meant living as some sort of prince/princess/horse hybrid…she decided she could deal with that!

And speaking of this new world she found herself in: the drastic changes in the world were a drastic culture shock as well. She knew nothing of the technology or myriad of history that had surpassed her while she was trapped in the book.

After the initial culture shock, Gwynaria was eager to learn of this new world. Sylvie helped her out by giving her books to read and teaching her how to use the internet so that she could absorb as much information as she could about the new world around her. Sylvie couldn’t exactly keep Gwynaria a secret from her parents for long, and there was no way Gwynaria could go outside with her very obvious horse legs—so Sylvie convinced her parents to let her stay. Thank goodness her parents were understanding of supernatural things!

It was a little less than a year later when Sylvie received a letter from Starlight Academy, welcoming her as a student. Sylvie had little trouble functioning in the ‘regular’ world, but she was interested in what Starlight Academy had to offer. More importantly, she realized it would be a better opportunity for Gwynaria. She could actually go outside if she went to Manta Carlos, rather than being stuck in one house. Sylvie wrote to Starlight Academy about Gwynaria’s situation, and soon enough she was also welcomed to the academy.

Gwynaria and her new little friend were soon off to Manta Carlos island. Having already become obsessed with the history of the world, it was easy for Gwynaria to choose a track of study at the academy. After only a few days at the academy, she decided to add an Education track to her studies as well. With her passion for learning history, it only makes sense that she would have an interest in spreading her knowledge someday.

Additional Information:
-On the subject of Gwynaria’s age: Gwynedd was 20 and Berengaria was 18 at the time they were cursed into the book. The book was written in Old High German, placing it between 700 to 1050 AD—technically making the two thousands of years old. Gwynaria herself looks slightly older than either, but not old enough to be a combination of the two ages. Siegfried’s age is a mystery…could Gwynaria be the same age as the horse?! It’s a mystery.

-Gwynaria is strictly vegan and the thought of eating meat makes her physically ill. Has been known to munch on hay occasionally.

-The fur around her hooves can grow rather long and Gwynaria has to trim it frequently.

-Being technically two people, Gwynaria has two birthdays. Gwynedd’s birthday is October 14[sup]th[/sup], and Berengaria’s is December 14[sup]th[/sup]. She somewhat celebrates both, but only very casually. Siegfried’s birthday is unknown.

-Since “Gwynedd Lorenzen Berengaria Brunhildr Schrader Siegfried the 3” is much too long for anyone to remember, she decided to combine Gwynedd and Berengaria into Gwynaria. She couldn’t find a way to really smoothly transition ‘Siegfried’ into her name.

-It’s understandable that Gwynaria would be genderfluid, having both Gwynedd and Berengaria as parts of her mind. She is alright with being referred to as female however, since that is what people tend to assume. She is slightly more feminine than masculine, even if only very slightly.

-Yes, sometimes people do ask what genitals she’s got since she is literally a man and a woman. She does not appreciate these questions. Her torso does lean more toward the princess than the prince though, so...that is all that will be said on that subject.

-Sylvie, being Wiccan, sometimes calls herself a 'witch'. As explained, Gwynaria is horrified of witches--but Sylvie is the one exception. After all, Sylvie doesn't actually have any witch-like powers, like cursing people or concocting special poisons! She just has her harmless language powers! So, Sylvie is an "acceptable witch".

-Seems suspicious that Gwynaria could speak modern English despite being trapped in an Old High German book for so many years, right? Actually, Gwynaria found that she could speak both modern English and French when she was released from the book. Since those are Sylvie's two native languages, they could only assume that she somehow was able to transfer her language skills into Gwynaria. It is not an ability that Sylvie has been able to replicate a second time.
